Are we nearing a full moon? I ask because every group I am subscribed to on FB, and other places all seems to be having issues today.
Once again it occurs that so much of our normal communication is non verbal and when we only have written communication to rely on, we find it incredibly difficult to convey our real meaning. I for one feel I fail miserably many times actually getting what I want to get across, written down.0 -

I've just used the leftover Jus-Rol from the freezer to make a small pie in a Pyrex dish, with the stewed apricots and a chopped up apple to make it a bit chunkier. Had a bit left over from trimming the sides of the bowl so rolled it, chucked in some sultanas and folded over, onto the oven sheet beside the Pyrex.
For some reason, when I read this it reminded me of one of The Little House on the Prairie books where Ma made Pa an "apple" pie using turnips. Anyone brave enough to try? Pa liked it!'Yaze whit yeh hive an ye'll niver wahnt'

SDG hope you get the help you need and the black dog leaves you for a while, its a terrible thing to cope with. Luckily I only have second hand experience as OH suffers. Please ask the Gp I am sure he/she will set something in motion and dont be afraid to show your feelings, so many of us desperately hold back tears in front of doctors but they need to know the truth. xx
Irisviolet, you are among friends here and support and hugs are given freely.
Darling Docky you really are a cheeky boy but you make me smile everytime xxx
Thank you stilty, yes she has sorted out tax credits too and is actually looking a lot better in herself now that she has a little wriggle room in her budget. DGs has decided naked is the way to go and went to the toilet here - yes he asked for we wee's upstairs :j - and when I turned round he had stripped off and was asking for a bath! We are just giving potty training a go, no stress allowed and see if it works. I hate potty training, Oh did the night time stuff with my two.
Anyway really need to go and wash up...well...not that I want toso sending hugs, healing vibes and anything I can think of to all you dear people who are having bad days xx

Ah ginny that sounds so familiar
DS9 still strips off to go to the toilet unless we are very careful, we now have a special soft toilet seat which is warmer and more comfortable - it seems to help
for anyone who has littlies/autys who enjoy disco lighting, I have bought one of these, and its been incredibly successful and much cheaper/safer than buying specific disco lighting.

Welcome IrisViolet
About to go to the land of nod but wanted to say something about empty store cupboards. I'm never ever without baked beans, bag of pasta, eggs, cheese, bread (or ingredients to make), oats and milk. With those items in I know I can make a breakfast, lunch, tea and a snack at any given moment. My cupboard don't have any thing you can pick up and eat but full of things that can make things to eat. Yes, more hard work but oh so much better value for money and product longevity.
Hope to help a bit but I suspect I've driven you away screaming 'I don't want to make a batch if flapjack every time I want a biscuit!' Lol, ignore my advice and add custard creams to the list0 -
Fuddle me duck, what are you doing wasting oats on flapjacks when you can do twinks hobnobs:D.
:hello:Hello IrisViolet, there's a wealth of recipe's on the 1st page of the monthly groucery challange as well as the £7 thread,hth£71.93/ £180.000 -

I must get those out of the library and have a re-read.
I'd stewed down some bordering-on-over-ripe apricots a couple of weeks ago and frozen them; they were very cheap because of their state. When I defrosted them and poured them into the Pyrex, they just looked too gloopy and baby-food-ish so I spontaneously decided to chop an eating apple into it.
Haven't tried the pie yet as ate the sultana turnover yesterday.
Hello and welcome iris violet.
A beautiful sunny day after the storm yestereve, shame I have to go to work as it would be lovely to go for a walk this morning to enjoy the freshness.
Never mind, I'm lucky to have a job when so many other good people are struggling for employment. Cuppa to slowly warm up my little grey cells, then some porridge and off into the big wide world.
Have a lovely day, people, GQ xxEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Now you say it... I dunno!
I always make flapjack or carrot cookies for lunch boxes. Ive never given it a second thought and I have made twinks before and know how divine they are!
golden brown twinks are the order of day. It's difficult walking past 39p biscuits for ingredient laden home made but I stick with it because its all in the house already and has multiple uses. Plus a custard cream wouldn't fill DH up for lunch where oat biscuits do.
Still though, those carrot cookies from We'll Eat Again really are yummy and surprisingly lacking in fat, they stretch very far. Ill find the recipe when I get on the old rickety laptop later.0 -
MOLLY If I've offended I apologise for doing so. I certainly have no issue with you personally and you are really more than welcome to post with the rest of us here as often as you would like to. We cover such a wide variety of personalities and experiences it's not surprising that occasionally we don't all agree with the content of every single post. You are welcome as is everyone else to say what you feel is right and I will uphold that principle to my last breath.0
