Good morning everyone. It rained - not strong enough word for the downpour we had - from about 7:30 last night til about 5 am today. Pelted down so hard it woke me up at one point. But as a result the air is so much fresher today. Its bright now and the sun is trying to show its face.:)
As if my curtains were not enough of a bargain on Tuesday I was in the charity shop again yesterday and picked up white drawers for bedroom to replace mine which are falling apart. Cost = £2.00. Brilliant.:j So am feeling quite pleased with self.
Despite the promised fine weather it is a busy day in house for me. Washing machine on already, breadmaker about ready to go and chicken defrosted for slow cooker. Was great getting drawers but are now sat in my hall blocking front door. Means have to empty old ones and put new in their place. As they are quite heavy it will a shuffle probably as can't lift them. Fortunately a friend gave me lift home in his car yesterday.

Morning all!
I woke up feeling quite motivated today. OH had scheduled black beans for dinner tonight, but we have some odds and ends that need using up so may do something with those. It isn't supposed to rain today so will also try to get out into the garden and have a tidy up before the rain comes to stay for the rest of the week.
The back alley ways of our terraces have been subject to some fly tipping the past week. One of the neighbours came round yesterday to say someone had left well over 100 tyres back there. Will have a nosey this afternoon and see if anything else needs tidying away. He said if the residents pile it at the end that the council will take it away.
My project for this evening after dinner is to make some door snakes and to dig out any left over fleece blankets I have as some of the windows here only have blinds on them so I'm hoping to make some quick curtains for them.
Thanks AOT. Feeling a bit better about it with some distance. I haven't thought of xmas and birthday pressies for her yet--her birthday is in October and i always need to post xmas in November to ensure it gets there on time. I'm trying to think of something that will get her out regularly, hopefully interacting with people. I don't have a lot of money, but I think my mum would contribute if it will help.
Not much other news, about to go check on my two courgettes. Unfortunately there are TWO car alarms going right now so not much work happening atm!0 -
Morning everyone, just back from @ldi. I treated myself to a new pillow as they have some cool as cucumber ones in. These are a lot cheaper than I have seen elsewhere. I think the new adverts on tv have made the shop a lot busier. Me and mum where there just after 8 and lots of other people where too - usually its very quiet.
I had a lovely evening at home last night with OH, I think my tablets are finally helping me. The AD are 6 weeks in. I am more calm and I am sleeping finally. I feel happier too. More contented.
That's enough about how happy I feel today, lol. I hope everyone else is enjoying the school holibobs and finding things to do. My youngest is already thinking of things to do - we are going to get her a Dictaphone ready for collage to record what she needs to be writing about, we also need to buy a book for her its £25 but whsmiths are doing 20% off next week so may have to buy it then.
Oh well must get this housework done, have good day everyone xBSC member 137

OH and ds12 have cut down the hedge we had in front of the house. We now have a nice light lounge but the downside is everyone who goes past can see in. we live on an estate so not a main road but there is still quite a few people who drive past. Does anyone have any ideas of what we can put up which is nice and cheap?saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

bunbun, everythings breaking down here! But it makes life fun. I'm also chuffed as the top of my under counter fridge is now a work surface, silver lining an all that!
Well i've received verbal confirmation we are officially going to flamingo land with the team on the 27th August !! We might also go with them to bridlington, but not sure yet.
On a negative side we've been rejected for financial assistance for
a laptop for ds2. I'm fuming as i know the charity, only last month gave money to someone for a console  I applied as i told it would help with ds2's dsylexia, dyspraxia, asd and hypermobility and his work at school and at home. Not impressed, but hey ho, no matter, thats life.
at least were going to flamingo land!
DS1 and OH have just fixed the computers that decided to break. Kept them busy for a few days and out of my hair :rotfl:
Just waiting for my dad to get back home and then we'll go out for a few hours in the van with him while the suns out.0 -
mar can't believe how much the kelp has helped you.
I asked my gp and they said i can't take it due because of the fluxtine i'm on.
Oh and i did something very naughty, i've booked a weekend away for us for my dads birthday. So far its the five of us going, myself, OH ds1 +2 and my dad, all going to blackpool. Were even staying a static caravan!!
My dad and OH have been bouncing all over like big kids :rotfl::rotfl:
So funny they worse than the kids, my dad got so excited he knock cuppas over :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
So paid the £50 booking fee, just have to the other £296, who have thought a 3 night weekend away could cost so much
On the plus side, when i checked the dates we won't have to rush back, as the break up from school on thursday and are off the half term. Perfect timing or what?!
I'm actually looking forward to it myself, be nice as we've never had a full family holiday with my dad and OH before. My dad hasn't been there since my mum died over a decade ago and he really wants to see the illuminations. I tried to persuade about a cheap hotel / b&b, put the poor thing was chuffed with a caravan. That OH said just book a caravan, we've never stayed in a static one before and your dads so happy.
My dad was in tears when we told him we'd booked it. He's so stressed out with work, money etc that we really wanted to do something for him. My dad is mine and OH's rock, he's a god send, an annoying so and so but i ever need he's theres like a shot.0 -
Enjoy Kezlou...
Someone I know stays at a caravan park in Blackpool often. I have been to that resort twice(a day trip)and a mon-fri stay. The last one was perhaps 8 years ago but since then having seen a documentary on TV it has really changed. So your Dad will see a big difference."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Hullo Mar, I was just thinking I'd not seen you post for a while.
What've you been up to? Keep it clean, lass, I'm a sensitive little flower.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
