    Afternoon all

Lazy morning sounds good kidcat - hope you feeling better today X

We've been to stay and play today. It was DD's first day of supported places (direct payments has paid for a 1 to 1 for her) so I've just had DS and he's had a good roam around the place and an explore. Can I just say I officially love it! DD had a fab day and did loads of great stuff and I don't feel like a wrung out dishcloth at the end of the day! Boy are hey both going to sleep tonight though - they have been on the go non stop! Nothing to get up for in the morning though so they can have a lie in tomorrow. Have booked for the Ikea crayfish party tomorrow night (£6.75 each for me and DH and kids free as under 5) for a 3 course buffet and entertainment so thought that was a jolly good price - not been before but hoping it will be good.

Catch you later - Hugs X

We're soon to be tucking in to a salad that has home grown salad leaves and podded peas. Nice feeling. I wish I could do it on a larger scale.

Mixed leftover pineapple pieces into value cottage cheese. Got masses for a lot less than buying ready mixed branded cotts cheese with pineapple.

Trying malt vinegar on the few weeds growing along the side of the wall. I'm not hopeful although I'm sure I've read it somewhere I'm well aware it could be a figment of my imagination.
  • Hi FUDDLE if you just have weeds and not other plants growing in the area you want to clear you could pour boiling water over them and pull them up when they are cool enough to handle. DD1 says if you use the vinegar it might not kill them but you will have very clean weeds! Well done on the home grown produce, lovely feeling isn't it ? Cheers Lyn xxx.

fuddle - I have never heard of vinegar on weeds either, but if it works please report back,

I have had a really lazy day, havent moved from sofa for most of it - but am feeling so drained and exhausted I am starting to think I may actually have caught some kind of virus.

The cats have stayed close as well as the rain was awful, its meant to be sunny tomorrow so I am hoping we can head out and enjoy the weather, OH is back in work Friday :)

I came home via post office(benefits time)getting meds, vitamins/minerals, some reduced salad/naughty treats and some haddock fillits.

Came out of the SM to a heavy rainstorm and I didn't care, it was lovely feeling the raindrops on my head...

Met the Mayoress and local councillor in the SM. You know its lovely that they saw me and made the effort to talk to me...that they bother.

I can't help it but admit I am getting more involved in the community and can see me taking up politics in a practicle way, not just talking about it.

Don't worry I'll keep that to my blog/twittering and often private:p

I've been reading a fair few frugal and green sites this evening that support using vinegar as weed killer so at least I know I haven't made it up.

I do like the boiling water idea and will try that next, thank you :)

I've read about vinegar for garden use but have forgotten where...and boiling water too.

Am looking forward to your results fuddle, with having the kids and the animals I am terrified of using chemicals at all, vinegar would be ideal if it works.

Well it started raining here about lunch time yesterday and has not stopped and at times its very heavy.
There is so many things I need to do here since we moved in , but with only having the use of one arm for awhile I am so slow. I have started a a couple lists of what needs doing. At least that keeps me busy.

Lyn hope you enjoying time with your DD.
