    Hi everyone.

Not been on here for a few days and don't know what you've all been up to. However I gather that Princess is now a proud Auntie - Congratulations to all of you who have been supporting this little family, what a lovely time you will have now.

Also loving thoughts for Byatt, she does have a hard time of it, Hope things get better soon.

Kidcat: Hope things have calmed down and no lasting damage been done to you. At least the meltdown wasn't in public this time. My DGS has one everytime my DS hands him back to his mother after a visit. This takes place either at the ferry terminal or the railway station and my DS gets back on to the ferry and weeps all the way home. Life is very hard sometimes.

It has been chaotic here - won't bore you with details (I heard those sighs of relief) but it looks to go for a while so I may not be visiting the forum too often for a bit. We are going up to stay with my DB and SIL in the West Midlands next Monday for a week so on top of everything else have to get ready for going away. Can't wait for a break though.

Last night we sank down in an exhausted silence and put some mindless TV on. I wasn't listening to it but suddenly the Rev said...
"I could get you one of those if you like. Do you want one?"
    Me: One what?
    Rev: A deranged killer.
Me: Gee. Thanks. Are they expensive?
Rev: Well, I'd have to save up.
    Me: OK. For Christmas then.
Rev: Good. That's one present sorted.

So I am expecting a deranged killer in my stocking.
Do you think we could write sit-coms. It must pay better than vicaring.

Must go down and water the garden. We've only had enough rain to lay the dust.

    Love you all.

    Hope your back gets better.

Squeals of laughter here. The girls are in the garden in the pouring rain with their umbrellas. I'm hoping it doesn't thunder because I don't want to be the bad boooger who has to hoick 'em in!

    Good free fun :D

Monnagran - could they do the handover somewhere else- maybe a play area that DGS enjoys? I know a few people who have the same issue and have found a change of venue to work for them :)
  • Hi all
    Just a quick one.

Jem 132. The Beamish ticket is the same price. You just ask for the yearly pass and they give you a little card.

Kidcat. I had some terrible problems with my son from 10-16.He went to live with my parents but still returned to cause trouble in the home. Anyway….VERY long story but he is now 23 and we have a fantastic relationship. My heart and thoughts go out to you and I hope for a more settled time for you.

    Hugs to all

KIDCAT....Sorry to read about your son attacking you, thats really not good.........

My son and DIL have an autistic son , he is now 10 years old, and oh boy what a handful for them, he as only broke up from school a week and everyday so far has been very bad.........

They have managed to find somewhere for him to go 2 full days a week during the holidays , but its costing them £30 per day........
Poor little boy isnt right at all, he now swears at them very loudly and his so aggressive to them , Im sure before too long he will also attack them when in anger............

But you always take whatever is thrown at you, but I do feel for you and other parents in the same boat.........

Been nice here today, nice and warm , but 23 degrees is a more breathable heat............Suppose to get back into the 30 s again later this week....Sheila

Someone at the bottom of my street(well two families)have autistic boys...one is so trusting and is allowed to play outdoors(they must think it is safe)but I sometimes wonder...he sits for hours talking away to himself and hanging onto a football, I'm guessing physically 10yrs old(I'm not good at guessing ages)the other must be in his 30's at least so if he needs moving in some way or was to lash out, it must be a problem for the reasons given for Kidcat's injury.:(

I don't know if they get help, I have never have seen anyone in over thirty years(just one day per week, he seems to be taken for half a day to some centre run by the council)approx 10am - 4pm.

I know one family the parents must be in their 60's. They must worry for his future and love him so much trying to keep him home with them as they are. The difference is I think their is only one child/adult to care for whether autistic or otherwise.

Kidcat wishing you a speedy recovery physically, a back when jumped can affect in so many ways with every day movements, sometimes even breathing.

I had a visit from someone today, missed them, arranged for them to call again tomorrow. They'll only be here 5 mins, a regularly check of one of those units that you press a button for help in emergencies.

But I guessed from what I was told from a neighbour who it was. They'll complain I wasn't around but I won't stay in on the off chance they'll call, they never leave a message on the answer service, a number or the easiest thing to do is put a card through the door which I always tell them to do.

How easy is the last option? They are only based at the bottom of my street too.

Fuddle, you don't want to/can't afford to really but Saltburn has a food festival on Sunday(it's first)10am-4pm near the Railway station(anyone else in the area may be interested. In Milton St. 45 stalls, demonstrations, live music etc...also you have the beach nearby. AFAIK there is no fee to go to it.

I hope to go but Sunday buses mean I won't arrive much before 1pm or I can get an early train from town but for some reason I have to get a replacement bus at the station to take me to Middlesborough and catch a train from M'boro.

    What a carry on...

So I can go for free and have little time there or go earlier, have more time there and part with money.
