Congrats on the baby Princess, so good to hear all went well.
Back from my break, well rested and with a list as long as your arm of things to dobut I will attack it head on.
The electric cigarette has worked wonders for me, havent given up the others totally but looking as if I can do sometime very soon. Its good because I feel better and have a little extra cash now which I intend to put to good use. The tester has been that in a crisis I didnt reach for the fags :j:j and I can use it in the car if needs be, especially during traffic jams when I get very tense. DD's fella hasnt had a cigarette since the day he got his and I am really proud of him.
Kelp seems to be helping me too, am not yet bouncing with energy but definately feeling better and Arthur-itis is much less painful except a glitch with my hip ( usually only have it from the waist up) but I suspect the heatwave caused it and its a bit random so not too bad.
off to try chicken and chickpea chilli that someone mentioned, glad to be back here with all my friendsClearing the junk to travel light

I will get my caravan0 -
Congrats on baby Princess. Ruby is a lovely name. Well done to your SIL for being on time.:T:T
The funeral went well on Friday with no problems while I was there. Disappointed that one of her sons did not come though. Shame. Am sure he will regret it later.:(
The forecasters were finally correct - we had heavy rain overnight but has cleared for a while now. Is still warm so might be more thunder later today.:eek:
Have been to church and now having lazy day. Can't even be bothered to think about lunch. Think will have coffee now. Will pop back later. Have a good afternoon everyone.Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -

I think you all have me convinced to try this kelp - it cant hurt can it
Shegar imagine winning second place in a dog show at 16! How cool
We did a visit to the zoo today, DS15 moaned and complained all day and generally ruined the whole day because he wanted to stay in and sit in his room all day
Rosie got
rosette for best golden oldie, and second for best in show and got another rosette and cup, was well pleased for her , little grandson Lewis was desperate to take her in the ring but she wont go with anyone else accept me ..........Even though she got very limited hearing and eyesight , she knows where I am.......:D....
On to sea kelp, Id try it if I were you, youve got nought to lose.........Like mar say we are n ot sure how / why it works but it seems to for us......
I did have thyroid/ vitamin/ and quite a few other tests about 8 months ago at the surgery, but the only thing came back was low on vit D, so they gave me a course, but to be honest I didnt feel no better or no worse after id taken it..............And that was at least 7 months ago.........
They didnt say what had caused my fatigue/tiredness/ no energy / problem, so I put it down to my age 55 , and my 24/7 caring role, plus insulin dependant diabetic for past 37 years............The last 12 years as been the worst for me , so I think a lot of us blame a age when as we are getting older it must slow us up.........
But since taking the sea kelp , im a changed person, so I know its the kelp cos nothing else has changed , and im glad a lot of posters on here are also giving it a go ......Im still getting up at 5.30, taking the dogs to beach , then working all day at home and the garden , plus caring , then go to bed around 9.30 ish , my house is clinically clean ........:D...So happy...Sheila0 -
Can't remember kidcat - but think now they test both or just the stored iron?
Good Shegar, it's horrible to think we spent years and years as slugs when we could've been much better. I still have to be careful though, if I had one active busy day then I make sure to have a quieter one after it.0 -
Congratulations on the new arrival to her parents and to Auntie Princess - hugs X
Sheila - didn't Rosie do well -what a star!
Good weekend up at my parents - DD bought (well got Grandma to buy for her!!lol) another picture for her art gallery, a pen and ink of a bluetit - wish she'd let us put it up downstairs as it's gorgeous. Only bad bit of the weekend was when DD had a complete meltdown right in front of the catering tent at the steam gathering - felt like a bacon butty at a Jewish wedding!! saving grace was another lady who came up and explained that she also had a special son and understood and was there anything she could do to help - made me feel a little less conspicuous but nothing she could do - I just had to ride it out! DH had gone back to the car to get the picnic so was on my own so couldn't even move her as I had DS in the pushchair too.
Oh well, onwards and upwards - catch you all later - hugs X0 -
Thank you for letting us know about Beamish being a yearly ticket. Definitely going to go now. I would love to experience Christmas there as well.
I'm seriously thinking about getting DH on the kelp. He's forever lacklustre. We have put it down to his diet but this past 5 weeks he's been vitamin'd and supplemented to the hilt, ate a good diet but hes still moaning about wishing he had some get up and go.
It's our wedding anniversary today. We were supposed to go out for a meal but opted instead to take the girls swimming then get a meal for £10 on M&S instead. Well have it when sproglets go to bed.
Lovely to see everywhere drenched this morning. We do winge about the rain but when everything was as parched as it was you really get a thankful appreciation for it. Enjoying a cooler refreshing day today.
Congratulations princess!! Enjoy your cuddles
Well done Rosie!!0 -
hi everyone, princess what lovely news, ruby is a precious name.
Ive had one very busy but lovely weekend. Yesterday we went to London. We drove to cockfosters train station and took the tube into the centre. We walked oxford street and then visited trafalger square and London eye. Had ice creams from maccy'ds.
We then caught the tube to covent garden, was a lovely atmosphere. we watched the street artists doing magic. I got a new handbag and a dress.
We went to the woods today for a picnic, had walked in the sunshine.
Had alovely chat with OH and we have decided to do more things, picnic's and just walking around.
I am now pooped, and hot and bothered.BSC member 137

:j Congratulations on Baby Ruby's safe arrival!
I'm following the kelp debate with keen interest. I'm an ME person with a 25 year history of feeling like carp, during which I've tried a lot of stuff and not noticed a benefit.
I'm low on iron and have been on prescribed ferrous fumerate for coming up to two years now. It's just about bringing my iron levels to the very bottom of the normal range. GP and I both attribute my low iron to heavy periods.
Been kelping for a few weeks, although fell off the wagon when on holiday. I did do a 10 mile hike in 30 degrees on the last day and it took me a while to recover; hike was on Thurs and I was still needing extra rest on the Sunday and Monday, which is par for the course after unusual exertions. But I cannot remember walking 10 miles in one session since 2003 so feel pretty pleased anyway. The views were fabulous.
I also have an endocrine (hormonal) disorder and have been extensively tested. My thyroid function is normal, apparently. But there is an argument that the range of results included in "normal range" is so huge that some people may have sub-ideal levels for them personally while still testing in the normal range.
Insofar as I know, there isn't any harm in kelp tablets taken as per the manufacturers' instructions, and if it improves our individual wellbeing, we're all adults and can make our own choices.
I'm all for some of that Mardatha-Mojo, bring it on.......!
We had a downpour at dusk last night but it didn't last and today has been warm and dry with a slight breeze which has been great for heavy work like getting the tatties off the lottie. We did it in 2012 on a sweltering day. In on Good Friday, up on 27/7/13, crop is 50% below my record-breaking efforts of 9 kg back for wach kg planted but should be sufficient.
This was with zero watering other that what nature didn't provide. I also accidentally trod on a snail. I would have trodden on it deliberately but I didn't see it first.
Right, going to assemble a meal then disassemble it into me. Work eat, shower, sleep, good times.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
