Thanks so much - might not see much of the family over the summer, but it's nice to know I can ask questions of someone with far more experience! :D

The thing with kelp is that it will only help if you have slightly low thyroid function that isn't showing up on NHS tests. I can't prove that - but that's how it seems. It's safer than trying thyroxine for sure.
I have a friend who does have low thyroid but refuses to take thyroxine (don't know why) and she has been on it for years. Says the other thing it does is stops her skin being all dry and flaky, which is a symptom of low thyroid.
I think for the people with ME it's a bit hit or miss, and I don't know how it works with fibromyalgia because I don't get that.
When I went to the doc for 500th time moaning that he had to do something, and he did all the tests again, they all came back "fine". But I asked for the actual numbers. Something - it was either iron or vitD - came back as 52, and I asked what's the normal range for that? and she said 50. So at 52 I was "fine" and so was somebody with 152!
I think some of us are more sensitive than others and a wee thing like that can make all the difference. People with ME are mega sensitive to anything.
I just hope this lasts, but so far am doing ok. I was out yesterday in 22C digging the back garden :D

    I was up at 6.30 :eek::eek::eek:
The rain has been stotting down all night here. My single courgette plant donated by a friend is now looking like a triffid:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: It’s growing so fast. I’m going to harvest my first two to use in a jambalaya tonight:D
Chicken and chick pea chilli in the slow cooker for freezing into individual portions for lunches for me:j:j

I have loved the dry spell and managed to wash everything in sight. Curtains, covers for suite etc. the house always smells nicer when you can leave windows open:):)

Fuddle/ AOT Beamish Museum now do “all year long” tickets. It’s the same price as a day one but you can return as often as you like for a whole year. It doesn’t cover the “special” evenings but they are only £5 each anyway and have a really different feel to daytime. Really useful if you live close by.

    xx

    Loving de-cluttering
  • Someone else who's not posted for ages. Just wanted to say my potato plant's stalk started to go yellow and floppy so I tipped the pot over and harvested about 30 new potatoes! Didn't see any flowers though. They are scrummy!!
Went to Chatsworth Hall yesterday to see my choir sing, they were dressed in Georgian Style clothes (think Jane Austin). It was a fab day.
    Regards to everyone.

Many congratulations aunty Princess, so pleased all went well for them all!

The heavens opened with a vengeance last night, no thunder/lightning though. All plant life well watered now, but my poor little tomatoes are decimated, only half a dozen fruit left on the stalks out of 3 times that (only 2 little plants).

Going to check for slugs, but the spuds seem to be ok, flowering like mad, as are the pumpkins, so keeping my fingers crossed for them all.

    Princess - congratulations :)

Mardatha - I have always tottered around with very low iron, I get it up for a while then it drops it nothing again. I am permanently tired, and no one can explain why, so I figure I can give it a go and see if it helps and if it does thats great, if not well hey ho I tried.

When they gave you your iron levels did they tell you what your iron store count was too? Because I know that the store level is important, a while back I had what was considered to be a good level for me anyway, but GP said it meant nothing as my store level was 0.

We are having a day in today, DS15 is still in bed and I dont see the point in waking him yet, he will just thump around screaming at everyone and ruin everyones calm relaxed mood.
