    Where has Cornishchick gone?

I've been wondering if she's okay - I often think of her.

Have a lovely time in Cornwall Fuddle The break will do you all good. How kind of that lady to give you the spindle and fleece :)

FurryBeastOz Didn't you used to have a pic of Oz as your avatar? Perhaps I'm imagining it. Nice to see you posting!

SQ Hope you're okay and just busy! Thanks for the wave and hugs.

We had the final old radiator burst; OH went to get his shoes this morning and they were all wet, and we realised there was water trickling down the wall near the front door. He managed to track it down to the radiator in the box room, and managed to turn it off.

The silver lining from my point of view is that a beige fleece he had which I detested (the colour made him look ill, but he liked the fleece because it was comfy) had got spoilt and is now in the wheely bin :D

Holy Moses I'm knackered. But we've got done all the things which needed to be done this weekend, and just (ha! just!) packing and cleaning to be done before Friday. Oven and fridge are super clean and nobody but me is allowed to touch them.

I do think of Cornishchick very often as its so hard when you lose someone , people always ask about how you are getting on the first month after death , then you hear no more from them , but the pain is so very hard to live with for many months and years after....I do hope she is ok and will post us a message to say she is about ........

Just come back from the cinema "50 shades" , it wasnt too bad , but it ended kind of weird, I think they will make a another film , I did actually sit still for the 2 hours only cos it was so warm in there and I couldnt fidget as people all around....

Also so wheres kidcat, kezlou, sq, molly, stiltwalker, camelot, jem, to name but a few...?...
Im now watching "call the midwife" do love that old fashioned way of delivering babies.....
Weather has been quite nice today up until 3 ish when the sea mist come down........Sheila

  • Hi Sheila - still here lovely lady, thanks for thinking of me - x

Been a hectic week, in between trying to catch up on my OU and get an essay in, doing a whole heap of forum stuff and spending an afternoon in A&E - little master Stilty has taken to climbing up on the window ledges and took a tumble on Thursday, and cracked his head - he's absolutely fine but sadly it hasn't put him off at all so still on high alert! The little beggar can't even walk yet - how come he's so good at climbing! School broke up for half term on Friday so is going to be even more manic til they go back. Sat was riding and DH had a tutorial so I was on master stilty watching duty on my own (scary!!) and today we've been over to the Trafford Centre to pick up our annual passes from the Sealife - Christmas present from MIL for the kids, it's a lovely reminder for us this year as we use them - she always loved that we take the kids to so many great places and have fun with them.

CC -if you're out there reading along please have a huggle from me too, hope you are doing ok and survived Christmas

If we disregard the endless climbing - master stilty has had a great weekend. At riding he pootled himself over to the table where a group of the young volunteers were sitting, pulled himself to stand and did the completely normal small child thing of looking around, pleased with himself as if to say 'here I am, hi!' He then picked out one lass and gave her real proper eye contact and the biggest grin, before reaching out and patting her hair and trying to climb onto the chair with her, when he couldn't organise his legs to do this he leaned in for hugs instead. I nearly cried - he was just so interactive (he has some major auty behaviours and we probably need to look at assessment so school can support him so this is monumental!!!) Then at Sealife today he was properly taking notice and enjoying himself and joining in, he was helping me do the stamp thing and feeling all the different textures on the displays, together with a good amount of signing and communication - whoop woo!

    Take care all - Hx

    Hello everyone

thanks ivyleaf and Sheila. I am here reading and cheering everyone on but not really posting. This is partly because of busyness - children off for half term and want to spend time with them and help with the holiday homework (yuck) plus tons to do including sorting out various financial things and millions of chores. Partly because of other reasons but anyway me and mine are all fine, hope everyone has a good day x

Hey Chickens, I'm here! Thanks for asking after me.

Had a hectic weekend, my lovely cousin and her husband were here staying for the weekend so I haven't had a minute. They arrived on Friday afternoon and ate their way through the weekend!

We went out and about on Saturday (mainly charity and antique shops) and then went to Murrayfield on Sunday to see Scotland v Wales. Really good match but unfortunately Scotland lost (again!).

They've gone home back to Wales now so having a very chilled evening, DD was given a baked pot for tea and I had bread and butter! I've cooked all weekend so having a rest today.

Stilty, wow for DS, what a star, bet you are very proud of him. Has DD picked her outfits yet?
fuddle, I hope you are having a lovely break and manage to relax.
possession, you are nearly there, it will be worth it on Friday when it's all done.

Hope everyone is good, hopefully the weather will pick up soon. There are signs of life about in the gardens, spring is round the corner.

    Goodness, where is everyone today?

We have had a big gas leak    to add to Sunday's burst radiator, so will be spending a couple of nights at the Premier Inn down the road. I'd rather stay home, but OH tends to seize up if it's cold, and he can't wear too many extra layers as that makes it even harder for him to move around. DS is going to stay here though, so no need to try to get the cat into a cattery at short notice. He (DS, not the cat) will come down to the hotel to have a shower and hot meal.

Hopefully all will be sorted in a few days. DS is going to do the new pipework (the leak is in the pipe between the meter and the cooker), and a GasSafe engineer will then come and check the work and connect it up, and turn the gas back on.

We suspect it will be a bit more fiddly and take rather longer than DS reckons it will, but hey-ho. He has done similar work, just not exactly the same, so perhaps we're being pessimistic ;)

Sending (((HUGS))) to everyone, not to mention a huge WELL DONE!!! to Master Stiltwalker :T
  • Here but stiff muscled from moving wood!!! I guess it's the first really nice day we've had for quite some time and it's half term so most folks will be out and enjoying this lovely warm sunshine, I know I did when I walked the Dockling this afternoon. It's so lovely being out without hat, gloves and scarves and feeling warm and comfortable, bliss.

IVYLEAF hope DS can do the work that is needed as quickly as possible and that you and Mr Ivyleaf can stay warm and comfortable in the hotel. The best place for Mr Ivyleaf and certainly won't do you any harm either. Enjoy a bit of pampering while you're there, Lyn xxx.

Thanks Lyn - there won't be much pampering as it's a budget chain, but it'll be warm, and the restaurant's good - we had lunch there yesterday :). I think I'll take my special pillow with me, and an extra towel for hair-washing :) I've told OH we're not setting off until the cat's had his evening meal!

I read about the wood! great news! hope you won't be too stiff tomorrow.
