Judging by the amount of swearing that floats over the back fence MrsL, the shepherd and/or the dog maybe isn't quite sharing your view there... LOL

You have sheep dogs that swear? :rotfl:

    Where has Cornishchick gone?
  • Morning Toughies, well we have sunshine in a milky blue sky and today at least that raw coldness has gone and the breeze has dropped so it feels warmer, bliss!!!

Having another play with my new slow cooker book today and making braised puy lentils with Toulouse sausages for supper tonight along with some steamed dark greens and I've just made vanilla rice to go with some cherry compote for pud, very continetal today! It's very damp underfoot outside but if it dries I'm going to make some garden time and a good tidy up happen, particularly on the patio outside the back door where things get put to be sorted and then aren't which is annoying. Bin day tomorrow so hopefully we'll be able to shed a few things and have a tidy garden which is nice a little later on to sit and have morning coffee or afternoon tea on the bench in the sun.

Docky went paddling in the river this morning so it must be warmer, he also lost a tennis ball in the river too the nit!!!

Have a lovely Sunday, Lyn xxx.

    Good Morning :)

I have been busy with all things work related. I spent the day yesterday delivering care as I was on call. The joys of having to cover sickness. Two calls this morning and 2 this evening (if the phone is quiet) and then I am on a weeks holiday! We're going to Cornwall for 4 nights. Very excited to be able to shut off and just relax.

A lady I care for daughter visits her quite regularly from America. The time before last she was over she was telling me all about her homesteading. She teaches spinning (in terms of yarn) and was saying she was quite sad to not have had children to pass on her skills. When I turned up yesterday she was there. She handed me a hand spindle and some fleece that is ready to be spun. I have had to get the ok from my manager as we're not supposed to accept gifts without consent and she has ok'd it. So I will take it away with me and practise. It's something I have been wanting to try for such a long time but I am daunted. I dare not even pick it up until I can watch some you tube videos.

I have ironing and packing to do so will have to ignore that itch!

I have washed my micra this morning. It's nice to see a green/blue metallic instead of brown!

Our meal tonight? I don't really know. DH is doing the food shopping for our trip as I type.

All is ok in our part of the world. Just need to rid of my cold and get the chance to let my body relax.
  • A drop spindle and some fleece, how exciting, I have one here but am not at all good at it though I suspect that practice would make for more proficiency. I guess if I ever HAD to do it, I'd persevere, please let us know how you get on I'm intrigued. Hope your cold goes quickly and that you and yours have the loveliest time in Cornwall, also that it's considerably warmer for you down there so you can enjoy the beautiful Cornish outside. Eat lots of ice cream too!!! Lyn xxx.
