Just wondering how it is possible to feel so ill in the height of the summer, after 3 weeks of excellent diet and supplement taking.

I think someone has reversed into my car overnight. I say think as there's no damage other than my rear number plate was cracked in two, one half being on the floor. It won't cost to replace as DH has the plate printing machine at work but I am annoyed at the lack of note under my wiper apologising. Maybe it just cracked all by it's self?

    Morning all

Having a good old sneeze this morning, Don’t normally suffer with hay fever or alike so hoping I haven’t got a cold starting!

Accents are strange, I moved from south London around five years ago to Bristol. People even now stop and ask where I’m from like I’m some sort of alien. Lol

Mine is still as strong as ever & sometimes I struggle to understand what bristolians are saying. Like down here they say “where you too”! I say “where are you” & I often get told I’m posh.

Another strange one which confuses both parties is the breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Down here its “Breakfast, Dinner & Tea” Where as I say the above.

Seems slightly cooler here today with a touch of breeze. Makes a change seeing my curtains and trees blowing.
I had 2 letters come yesterday which wasn’t great.

One is saying that poppy (Our one year old staffy) is now due her annual boosters & needs to come in for her spaying check. I’m dreading her being spayed because I seems such a bigger deal for female doggers than it did with my male.

Second letter was from a debt company saying that I owe the TV licence £73. Looking back at the banks I’m sure I set up a standing order for the weekly amounts but it seems its not been going out therefore I have to try and find the outstanding amount on top of finding the money for a new set of drawers…..Its true the saying it never rains - Its pours.
My own fault really, I’ve been so busy dealing with my personal issues & then assisting my brother & SIL that I never kept a check on this.

Today I have decided to vax the carpets. I don’t know why - But feel they really could do with a freshen up. OH is hoping to finish around lunch time so I can rope him in to help.

Best wishes to everyone that needs them. And a cuddle this way for the poorly kitty x

Morning everyone, Lovely and warm already. Picked my mum at 745am and went to lidL and @ldi. Was one of the sad ones outside at 8am!!! Still managed to get some lovely bargains, spent 16 and 12 for the week. Cant believe I use to go to mr t and mr s.

Next week we can stock up as the mirror will have the vouchers in on Thursday. I now plan the months shopping around these.

Had a lovely evening with OH last night, just sat in the garden with a glass of orange juice. I told him I had ordered my glasses, and he said I must look after my eyesight.

Fuddle I think the hot humid weather isn't helping, both me and OH have had upset tummies and felt aweful. I am not sleeping too well either, but we have all the curtains shut each day and the windows on tickle vents. Cant leave them open - just in case.

Well must get some cleaning done, and sort my things for work. Have a great day everyone x

Morning all! We're supposedly at "level 3" today. Coming from much warmer climes, this just feels like real summer to me, although I do admit the UK is less equipped to deal with warm temperatures. The only time I miss AC is in my leisure centre. The gym is in a basement and is completely walled off by swimming pools on either end so it is warm down there to say the least! No windows or doors to open. Other than that, today is the first day I've been uncomfortable, so I've got damp muslin tea towels over some of the windows, icy water in a jug on my desk and I'll plan to read in the garden in the afternoon where it is a bit cooler.

Princess, have you tried Arg0s? I know they have a fair amount of furniture on offer. We bought some wardrobes from their Scandinavia line earlier this summer. The quality isn't fantastic, but it isn't terrible either and I feel like we got a reasonable deal for what we paid. We expect we'll use them for the next 5-10 years without too much trouble and then replace them with better quality when we can afford it and perhaps use these in a guest room. I can't speak for anything else they have--just thought I would mention it. We scoured the CS and second hand shops and Ike@for about 18 months before we finally decided what to buy. It isn't easy, particularly when you feel you haven't got the money to spend.

As for accents, well mine is such a mess that I have an accent to everyone. People in different parts of the US think I sound a bit like other regions of the states and mostly British. People in the UK often say I sound just a bit "different" but they can't place it--they frequently think I'm from elsewhere in the UK or generally somewhere in Europe. The oddest conversation I ever had was when someone kept asking me about Ireland. I've only been there on holiday once or twice, I could not figure out why they thought I'd be an expert. I finally realized they thought I sounded Irish. :rotfl::rotfl: Funnily enough, the longer I live in the UK, the more foreign Americans sound to me. Last week my OH thought I was going nuts when I asked him if an actor was Australian. Apparently, he was American.:o

I see many of you are having tough times. Pooky, I do hope fluffy kitten is just having a prolonged recovery from her infection and that there isn't something more serious going on.

Valli--my body goes back and forth on whether or not I need the blue puffer. I try to carry it with me in situations that are likely to set other people off as there doesn't seem to be a pattern to mine yet, apart from illness.

Sunshine, I'll be thinking about you.

Right, I'd better get back to work now. Hugs to any who need them...or maybe not, maybe just a glass of lemonade and a bit of distance to keep the breeze between us! I'll have to try the mint version Em! Sounds lush!

PrincessX don't worry about the drawers. You don't need to buy the wooden ones. We use these £12 for the drawer unit and £3 for the wire baskets to slide in and out http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categories/departments/bedroom/11466/ from ikea in the bedroom cupboard. DD uses them as toy storage too, they are very good for the cheapness of them.

There's also the canvas covered things in Argos and the like that are really cheap and do the job.

Melting here in North Yorkshire today - it was 26 in our village by 9.30 this morning! My poor DH is at work tipping waggons at the local Mr T in a loading bay with a tin roof and no A/C poor love is going to have lost a few pounds by the end of the day. Best not moan to him that I have to go and do a load of ironing so we have ironed clothes to take up to my parents this weekend.

It is THE weekend, finally after months of waiting, tomorrow we get to use our birthday present voucher from MIL. She got us a joint pressie this time of a meal at L'enclume which is the 2 Michelin star restaurant near my parents. rang to book back in March with 2 diaries (mine and parents) and by the time the restaurant added theirs in this was the first Saturday night we could book for. I've finished new dress to wear and DH is going to wear his wedding suit (a nice light grey so ok in this weather, particularly as he'll take the jacket off as soon as he gets there.

Right must go and sort ironing and packing. DD amusing herself happily miming putting suntan cream on and DS is quietly examining the books so hopefully they'll let me get on.

Catch you all later - Hugs X

Hi everyone:) Catching up here as always:)
Delighted to be able to pick a lovely crop of strawberries again today. Made a pavlova a few nights ago with the other crop I picked. Second year growing them, so pleased. We also got lots of spuds although they were not big but tasty even so. I had grown peas this year too for the first time and we have had good results with them. I will def grow them again next time. It is so satisfying isn't it? The weather is too hot for me to be truthful, however it is so lovely to have it all the same. Waiting on an appointment to hear my C.T scan results. Our dog has been ill bless him, very old wee man now, on medication from vet(we took him on Tuesday night) so we might have him with us for a while. We have had him since a puppy and he has given us so much companionship, fun, crazy antics when younger and we love him so very much. Welcome to any new folk here. Lovely to see you all:) Have a lovely weekend everyone and stay safe drink lots of fluids and keep the sunscreen on while out in the sun. Margaret x

Aw stiltwalker enjoy! If ever there's a couple that deserves some posh time out it's you.

Margaret sorry your dog is poorly but long may the medication keep him with you. I am loving my peas too. Everyday there's more and more pods forming. Very exciting.

I think I have sourced the blackberries down here :D they're forming little green fruits so I'm hoping I have identified correctly.

Need to go price up the cost of fencing at the weekend. For all I love my dog, he's super dooper, very chilled out and smashing round the girls, any children really, he is hyper and I have made the decision to make him an outdoor run and kennel for when I have children to mind. I have to start the saving pot now so it'll be handy to estimate the figures needed.
