AOT funnily enough one time when Mum was in Bournemouth(though we could not hear it ourselves)someone thought she came from Wales too. And Mum was a local girl born and never moved more than 7 miles from Bishop Auckland.

Hey, if nothing goes wrong and the weather stays fine I have found a free event for next weekend to attend and never been before...Sunderland Air Show...planes, food, entertainment and even a beach/coast to view.

But buses mean I may have to leave earlier than I wish to. Fancy the Friday night as there is a concert with the Royal Marines. But I think that is a non starter.

Red Arrows appear once early Saturday Morning...

Could attend two days if I want to but I may go elsewhere on Sunday Pirate Day will decide later.

SUNSHINE DENISE......How did the hospital appointment go today ?, hopefully well.......

Accents , well im deep Suffolk, sound like a mixture of Dorset/Australian/Norfolk., yea what a combination........I cant change it whatever , people in Suffolk dont take any notice of it, but anyone not live in Suffolk want me to speak more , which makes me feel embarrassed :o.........

Weather super sunny and hot, I keep mainly shaded and I can live with it, not going to moan as our 2013 winter/spring was terrible...................Temperature for next few days , a little bit cooler over the weekend at about 25 degrees, then next week up to 35 degrees., so ITV news said tonight ...............

Im still running around like a lunatic bursting with energy even in this heat, had super beach walk at 7 this morn, pure bliss , warm and breezy , had a little sit on the stones and looked out to sea , thats where I always do "my thinking" , Ive stood down there sometimes and spoke to the waves.:o.......Just the simple things in life are so pleasurable......Sheila
  • Hello USAGI welcome aboard the thread, talk to us, we love new friends to interact with, join in the fun and giggle along with us.

FPK I've just had my cool bath after walking the houndicus in the sunshine soup outside and watering the whole garden and hothouses, and I've embarked on my cheeky glass of wine which has been chilling nicely in the fridge. I'm in danger of feeling human again!!!

FUDDLE I'd send you a hug to make you feel better but I'll be kind and send you a breath of fresh air to cool you down instead. Here's another one telling you to go to the GP if you're not better after the weekend, I so hope you are better though, it's bad enough just existing in this heat let alone being poorly too. be better petal, and quickly.

I wish you all a cooler evening and some sleep tonight, Cheers Lyn xxx.

Thank you to everyone for thinking of me - I am feeling much more human now but still have a nasty cough.

Fuddle, there are lots of nasty summer cold bugs around - people are dropping like flies around here. Do as monnagran says! I wanted bananas and asparagus soup for two days when I had a fever (how weird is that?) so bananas and cup a soups it was.

Well toughies, for many of us working in school today was the day we wait all year for - we're freeeeeeeeeeeee! Tomorrow morning I am going to wake up, make a coffee and sit in the garden with my bare feet on the grass in the cool before the sun is up. And just be.

After that I will start mowing the lawn and tidying the garden to make it nice for what will hopefully be at least a few days of nice weather before it breaks.

When the weather breaks, I will start on the house... I will, I will, I will... :D

...And I'm the only one on this thread who doesn't know what a Kent accent sounds like :)
Shegar, is your accent like Lowestoft? My fav aunty was from there and she had such a lovely accent, very broad.

Been thinking of Sunshine today too...

Opening a debate here which would never end, I know language evolves and new words are introduced or adapted, come into/fall out of fashion but the one that is used a lot in the media especially politicians is "incentivise" so many seem to use it suddenly.

Thank you fuddle for your kind words. I hope you don't have to spend too much money on making the run etc for alfie. I love his name. Pops would love one of those with a cup of tea. You are just right to treat yourself:)
Meant to ask, earlier. Has anyone read the book by Robert Tressell? It is called "The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists. I got it on Am*zon recently and just finished it last night. Nothing changes eh?

Yes, Margaret, I've read it. I also saw a really good production of it at The Arts Centre in Norwich a few years ago.

Don't know a Kent accent but when we moved to England we lived in Lowestoft then 10 miles from it for nearly 20 years. Those with broadest accent pronounced it something like low- (as in how) stff . Apologies if this isn't quite it. Lovely lovely folk.

    Thanks for the welcome everyone.

OH is out tonight - it was finally cool enough to go outside so I have been painting some picture frames I have got from charity shops - I am hoping to make a collection of them on the wall in bright colours. Hopefully they look a bit better after another coat....

We have lots of magnolia walls - need to brighten things up. I need to find some photos to get printed - my digital photos are all over the place - anyone have a good way of organising digital photos?

Katie Hopkins seems to make her money now by saying controversial things - does she really believe it or is she just raising her profile and making money by winding people up?

Now I should find some dinner, can't face eating until it gets cooler in the day - shouldn't complain though, it's lovely to have so much sunshine.

Yes that thought crossed my mind too...
