I'm not sure if it's my imagine or it might be a little bit cooler tonight. Perhaps it's just that we finally got the fan down from the loft last night.
Sorry you feel poorly Fuddle, don't overdo it, I know I'm completely wiped out from all the rushing about today.
I wonder what accent my children have? I was born in Manchester but brought up in Kent, and my Japanese boss once told me I Bridget Jones sounded exactly like me! I think she sounds a lot posher though, I have rather too much Medway in me. DH was born in Walsall and when surrounded by Brummies he can develop a slight twang but otherwise sounds quite like me I think.
I wonder if we have similar accents? I was born and brought up in Kent, moved to Brum for uni, then merseyside for 2 years and then back to the midlands. My accent can be very "estuary" at times, being a Maid of Kent, with a bit of brummie and an occasional Liverpudlian "werk".
When my DS left primary school, they had a leavers assembly and all the other kids were wailing that they didn't want to leave, he said "I've enjoyed my time at St L's but I want to go to high school" :T some other mums were shocked but me and the head said that that was how it should be. It was a relief for me as I could give up the PTA that I had Been very active in for 7 years.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
I don't think I have an accent but I'd think otherwise if I was recorded and heard myself.
I went out to the supermarket at 9pm and it was cooler than my home outside and now its quite pleasant and I think I'll sleep ok...I made do with some strawberries, eggs and tonic water...and have purchased something I haven't had before Florida Salad...I may be able to make my own next time if its worth the bother."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Hello lkadies
wheezy day for me -(new hayfever symptom - at my grand old age) which appears to be asthma - so used the blue puffer and I need it now actually. This means I MUST go the the docs because after the attack I had I had said I wasn't using the puffer - well now I am.
Been to my sisters. After much discussion my holidya this year wil be a few days at hers, with visits to places of interest (so if you know of any, in and around Northampton, speak now) - a break was something I was being pushed into; cannot o with DD as she has work; and I even renewed my passport. Ah well.
A colleague has decided boss is dividing us (in order to rule) she may not be wrong - unfortunately...but I am made of stern stuff and have dealt with idiots before;)
Have harvested ANOTHER punnet od strawberries and another 2-and -a half pounds of currants. More left - DS will take a jar of HM jam to uni - if he goes...
Oh - 'View first unread'...
doesn't work for me so I shall thank posts fromk now on, then I know where I am.
(it just drops me on the last page)

Sunshine hope you get a diagnosis soon and you can tackle it better then. Glad to hear others have experience of the tablets, it does help knowing why things are happening doesnt it.
Monnagran, glad the wedding went well. It just shows all the work you and the Rev do beyond the call of duty pays dividends, fab gesture painting the doors for you. Pay it forward I say!
Had a good whoopsie hunt tonight by sheer luck. DD borrowed the car to take DGs to play in a waterfall they found so didnt get it back till 7 ish. Went to Mr S with a £6 off a £30 spend and got lots of yoghurts, puds, leeks and DGS's shepherds pies all for a fraction of the original cost. Then rescued Dd from MR M (she took back some prepacked veggies that had gone off over night) and picked up some lovely cheese for 59p :T Its ages since I got any decent ys stuff and saved me a lot of dosh. Oh and a big yummy cucumber for 25p.Clearing the junk to travel light

Afternoon Ladies, Beautiful day here again.
Had an appointment at the hospital yesterday, my blood tests that I had done last week has come back . It seems my blood is no good my ESR is very high. I have lost alot of weight recently, cant eat large meals and then cant keep the food down. I had a cough for a few weeks and though that was what was making me sick. Its seems my immune system is not working .
In stead of helping to get rid of colds, flu , virus, bacteria its also attacking the good things as well. So my body is attacking its self and my red blood cells are all sticky.
I have an appointment with a dr at the hospital on Friday morning and she is going to explain it carefully to me, I have been told I will need to go on powerful steroids to help my body cope.
But I have decided not to dwell on it and just get on with life there are still alot of people worst off than me.
We sat on in the garden for lunch under the tree and it was heaven.
That's what happened to me and had I known sooner my kidneys woud not probably been damaged so they are on the ball with you...good luck.
I had to be on a lot of steroids and put 3-4 stone on but now the dose is v low and I have come back to a more acceptable weight.
I'm sure you'll be fine...I have been like this for around 17 years. Waiting for an explanation is usually worse. Until that happened seemingly suddenly I had hardly ever seen a Dr in my life.
I am on Prednisolone...and take 10mg one day and 5mg the next but originally I had it via a drip and then a lot and it cased weight problems and affected my moods.
Eventually that side effect stopped and never came back."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Hi folks, just a quick look on here before bed. Out for a rare eve and although only drank water and event and a decaff coffee at pub after, I am still wired! Received 2 certificates and a plaque for my courses and training, had photo taken with local MP etc, all very nice if not embarrassing! Meet up with tons of people, old and new, it was lovely. Then my lovely friend and I went to local pub for a chat.
Also received flowers and best of all a handmade card signed by all the nursery children I have worked with all year. What a special day I have had today!
Hope to pop in tomorrow but if time goes against me, I will say adieu for next couple of weeks (on hols) unless I get the chance to use DH's tablet somewhere with wifi. never did get round to getting my smartphone, maybe later.
Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions re my friend. We will genuinely have a few fresh bits to find a home for and I will top up with some extras and pop them round tomorrow. I don't think I will get away with any more for now. She has given in and spoken with her family though and they are also going to help out as best they can (think her parents have store of food) so I can go on holiday and not worry too much.
Have offered to help with childcare, CV and whatever else I can when we are back from hols to help her find a job too. Also if things are still difficult when we are back, I will bake some bread and cakes and make some homemade meals as she often asks for recipes etc - I know she will accept these ok and maybe tempt her to cook from scratch more (she is an OS learner like me, still on P plates!)
Think I might do the card with a little gift voucher in too, I will say its to say thanks for all she does for me and mention we spent less on holiday than planned or something and felt like treating them instead of buying them a holiday present. She had a special holiday last year (paid for by her sister doing overtime, how wonderful is that?) and bought us all back tons of pressies so I can reciprocate this year. Thanks everyone, feel so much happier I have a plan to help my friend without making her feel too uncomfortable.
better get to bed, the deepest joy of packing too much stuff into too many bags awaits and dispatching cats to cattery (which makes me so sadeven though place is lovely)
only 2 more sleeps til my hols, can you tell I'm excited?:D:D:D
take care my lovely friends

Morning all
I've got one of the nicer Kent accents (self praise is no praise eh?) and always get told I sound "posh" - whatever posh is now?
Mixed day yesterday, lovely paddle at the beach and lunch with a friend but home to hear our Inlaws house purchase fell through at the last minute, literally an hour before contracts were signed!!!! The house they were buying is no longer going onthe market!!! Typically there are now more bungalows in our village on the market and they are going to view them today (please don't let them like them!).
Heard from my parents that Dad has been confirmed to have a skin cancer, so they're going to whip it off quick. mums gone into panic mode! Bless her.
We also had fluffy kittens blood results back and they're not great. Without further tests (bone marrow and ultrasound) they can't tell for sure but it's possible she has lukemia or a cancer. As shes picked up over the past week we're opting for the "wait and see" approach. The vets wants her weighed weekly and if she continues to put on weight then we'll just take it month by month. She's put on 200gms in a week which is good going, long may it continue.
DD1 woke me just after 1am, strange noise in the Garden, she'd been to investigate and all three kittens (fluffy one included) were playing chase with a baby fox on the lawn! She wasn't sure who was chasing who but said they seemed to all be enjoying it! Would have loved to have seen it."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Morning Toughies, it feels just a shade cooler this morning and we have a nice coastal breeze so hopefully a more comfortable day is ahead. I've already picked produce for the day and it's in the freezer or in the steamer for lunch with a nice poached egg. It's difficult to drum up any enthusiasm for food in this hot weather isn't it?
POOKY I'm glad that fluffy kitten is regaining some weight and is more active with the other two, I really hope she continues to improve and that whatever ails her isn't unfixable, it sounds as though she is enjoying her life again, long may it continue.
Accents are odd, I was born and lived until my 40s in mid Kent and didn't think I had an accent. There is a most definate one here in this part of Hampshire and lots of different patterns of speech but people say they can always tell I'm not local because of how I sound. It's magnified when I'm chatting on the phone and it seems to be the pronounciation of certain words which definately have my Kentish burr. DD1 was in the states a few years ago staying with friends from uni who lived there and lectured at one of the universities. She had gone in the afternoon to the campus to meet them and was waiting in the shade when a lady walked past and said hello to her, she exchanged greetings as you do and the lady stopped dead in her tracks , came back and said say that again. She was the Professor of Linguistics and identified to the small town exactly where in Kent we came from, clever eh?
Hope you all have a lovely day and can be comfortable in this weather, Cheers Lyn xxx.0
