Ouch nursemaggie my bottom hurts now!
Fear not, we've got quite a lot done now. DS (nearly 13) quite astonished me by helping to clean out the bathroom cupboards, and by helping I mean I sat on the loo seat and directed, and he did all the work. We have big kitchen floor cupboards in the bathroom so it was no mean task.
I cleared out DD's draws as I didn't trust her to do it (translate that as she's already supposed to have done it and they looked the same). I never knew there could be quite so many odd socks in the world. Where have all the others gone?!
There's still much to be done but we're a step closer at least.
A bit of advice on the fridge freezer....our buyers are having our big American fridge freezer (sob sob) and we are reverting to the old one which was in the garage. We discovered today that the seal is completely broken at the bottom, ie. bashed in (it's pretty old). We're wondering if this is going to make it so inefficient in terms of electricity used that we'd be better getting another. Any thoughts?0 -
Happy birthday Stillwater.I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order

Possession I would get new freezers bad seals leak a lot of Electricity. I had a small chest freezer with the seals gone I can assure you we are using a lot less electricity. I had, had it for 24 years. Only paid £50 from Iceland so as my mother used to say, "it did not owe me anything". I really miss it though. If Iceland sell them on line I will order one if we have room when we get our council/housing association house.
Odd socks! There is a portal in the back of every WM that goes to odd sock land. :rotfl:0 -
Possession, it might be relatively cheap to get the seals replaced, if you can find an old fashion appliance repairman. Certainly worth looking at before going all out for a new appliance.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070

I know you are not celebrating properly until next month but Happy Birthday stilty. If you tell us all when you are both officially celebrating.... you can have a cake too!
Talking of cake, we have finished my gorgeous birthday cake today. The children had the last 2 pieces after dinner (DH and I had a piece each earlier) - huge slices so I wouldn't eat anymore tomorrow.
Today we all went to the park to play football. I didn't do too badly for someone the wrong side of 40 and I was impressed with DH's skills. I know I am pretty (very) unfit and could feel it yet I surprised myself how much I ran about. Boy can I feel it in my legs now!! Got home and put all the muddy clothes straight in the wash.
DH has tomorrow booked off work so we are spending a rare day together without the kids...well until school pick up anyway. Planned a lovely long walk but might make it a shorter one if my legs feel like this tomorrow! I am planning a long chat about our plans for the year, we have mentioned a couple of things but need a proper chat. I am not getting much housework done and will be busy most of Tuesday. Oh well it can wait til Wednesday I guess.
Off to load the washing machine again ready for the morning, a few mins read in bed and that's me for today.0 -
Happy birthday stilty !!!
Enjoy your crafting:
Still snow on the ground here, just hoping water board turn up to fix issues with stands etc so that OH can do a job tomorrow.
Wow possession you've done loads!
Enjoy tomorrow sq, ignore the housework. Instead just chill0 -
Birthday (((HUGS))), Helen. Glad you're having so much fun with the embellisher!
Kezlou Sounds as if Saltburn throughly blew the cobwebs away
Monnagran - So nice to have you back. We don't half miss you when you're away. Glad you had a nice time though!0 -
Forgot to mention that the fridge freezer was VERY mouldy, so that was another job done. I will ask on the local Facebook page if there is anyone that can replace seals, otherwise may look into another one as DH appears to be rather anxious about all the mould. Not worth setting his anxiety off after all.
Hope you had a lovely birthday Stilty.
And hope you're having a rest SQ. And Kez in fact!0 -
White vinegar should take care of the mould, if you wanted to. Sometimes though as you say, it's easier to get another and avoid anxiety.Softstuff- Officially better than 0070
