I believe in Karma too but also believe sometimes things need a swift kick up the bum!!!;)

    Wondercollie

Things will get better and you deserve them to. Hope next year is a great improvement for you.

Posted cards this afternoon and took DD to cinema as tomorrow youngest gets back from Uni and Monday eldest DD and her husband arrive so it will be a full house next week.

DH has a goose arriving on Christmas eve and a fruit and veg delivery should arrive tomorrow so just need a few basics as I have been running down stocks of things like chopped tomatoes, mushrooms etc.

    Hugs to all.

Some more good news. I have found out today that I can leave my post at 2.40pm to collect the girls from school so don't need childcare. It's something that may change as we get busier but at the moment it's a relief.

Must dash. Very busy tonight and we have carols in the town to attend.
  • Wondercollie....I can see why your raving mad with OH , thats a lot of credit wrapped around his neck for the next 3 to 5 years, id have gone mad too......He probaly didnt consult you as he knew what the answer would have been........
    Ivyleaf.....Thanks for your message .....
Spikeyhedgehog.......I have my hair braided once a week and it keeps in for 5 days , as its long I like it away from my face costs me £5 to have it braided......
Kittie....Im sure your doing it the right way with medical problems.....

I do feel a bit better today than I have done , im very tired now and I will dive in my bed again at 8 , and probaly sleep to about 7 in the morn, well if I wasnt tired I wouldnt sleep would I .?, I do think rest is so important to anyone who is not well, its better than taking pain killers.......Theres nought much on tv in any case, I will just see Eastenders then a bed I shall go................
I wont be spending much on christmas food as its only one day really and I cant see the point in having too much grub in the fridge as the shops only close 2 days , ive always thought like that over spending ridiculous amounts of money on food that wont get eaten in the 2 days of christmas......
Hope you will all have a peaceful weekend ....Sheila

Wondercollie.......I would have killed OH if he did that! We only have one car so easy to ensure that it is in MY name and only bought on my decision....OH is of the opinion that because he has money in his account today it can all be spent with no regzrd for any bill coming down the line. As for the job issue, good on you for making the report, bullies get away with so much that should be dealt with.

Kidcat....your husband has a job, so presumably he can read and write....and book bl¥¥dy flights or whatever....you seem as someone earlier said, to do 27 hours work in the day....go on strike for a week and let them get on with things! Time that there was a bit more take in your life and a bit more give in that of others.

I may be a bit hard on people today but I sent OH into the post office today to put a stamp on the only card I am sending this year to people I do not know, whose language I do not speak, whose lovely son has made a huge difference to the happiness of my beloved DD4.....discovered when post was gone that the idiot had not put any stamp on the envelope....wanted to beat his head in, but wont be driving for five more weeks so cant afford to!

Thank you for your lovely post Ivyleaf, have typed 2 replies and lost both.....colonoscopy was fine, had hip replacement last week and am very pleased with result, unfortunately dependance on others is driving me nut...as you will notice tolerance has completely lost the building and is now somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic, if not further away!

    Much love to all

Aw thanks Marie, it sounds as if you're doing fine :T and before you know it you will be able to :j :D I can't believe Ulick forgot to put a stamp on the envelope after going to the Post Office specially for the purpose :(

Ugh, DS went to a "staff do" last night (the first of several, I fear, as he knows so many people) and the house stinks of garlic and booze this morning  It's a bit cold to have the windows open, but i don;t think the airfreshener spray from Liddly will do much to combat it :p

OH seems to have gone mad for Lego Christmas decorations this year. As well as the little figures from his Lego advent calendar, we have some on the mantelpiece - a Lego reindeer with presents and wearing a Santa hat, a Lego snowman holding a snow shovel (presumably ready for when he starts to melt) and a turkey, which is really meant for Thanksgiving and looks from the front like a duck, wearing a Pilgrim Father's hat. Oh well, he enjoys it, and deserves it for putting up with me all year :D

I have the most lovely advent calendar this year; each door contains an illustration from a book in the Bodleian Library. i bought one for DD1 as well, another booklover, and we're going to put them back in their envelopes after Christmas and store them carefull away for next year. that's the theory anyway; in reality I shall probably be unable to find mine when the time comes to get them out again. :D

I also subscribe to the theory that what goes round, comes round. You may not even be there to see it happen but be assured that it will. WonderC - I'm so glad that you could stay with your 'difficult' patients, you must make their lives so much better for being there.
As for bullies, we've met a few of them - yes, even in church. I think of two who had it in for the Rev, mainly jealous of her popularity, and they made life intolerable for her. One of them moved to a job hundreds of miles from where he wanted to be and made a pig's ear of it. He is now looking for another job - had a two day interview and after the first day was told not to bother coming back for the second day. The other one was moved to another position much lowlier than the one he currently held and is desperately looking for another job. I am trying to be a good Christian and not to be filled with vengeful delight - and failing miserably.
Meanwhile the Rev is flourishing in her new post, being loved and supported by the wonderful people here.
    Karma indeed!

This is the first Christmas I have really enjoyed for years. Busy but not pushed beyond what I can comfortably cope with. I miss our Drop-in friends though. We have had cards from some of them and one of them in particular has completely turned her life around. It is so heart-warming.

The Rev has been issued with a blood pressure monitor and we have great fun filling in her results. She had a go at taking my BP but I hope that she hasn't got the hang of it as according to her I must be dead - but still standing.

This is a ghostly apparition telling you all to take it easy over the weekend and remember - it will all be the same in a hundred years.

Morning all, its a fresh and windy one here in Lincolnshire. I have a day off from work so I took pup to the shop for a walk. Boy is he terrible on the lead, he barks at cars birds dogs cats and infact anything. So he will be going to puppy classes asap.
Wonder collie im sure a new job will come up soon.
KIDKAT, no one ever got into trouble for buying things to make Christmas easier. I know exactly how you feel, and I have been in the same sort of mind set. I now buy pastry, frozen veg and roasties, I have even bought frozen mash and yorkies. I cant do everything, and admitting it isn't being a failure. Maybe asking the kids to put their own laundry away, bring it down for washing is a start. Making their beds in the morning is a 2 minute job at the most.

Work is becoming far too much for me, our new manager is at best a pain at worst a patronising old man. We have a lot of migrants that come in, and he doesn't even acknowledge them. I say hi to them all, ask if they are ok. Its taken nearly 4 years to break the ice with them. They ask for help with things non work related too. Only problem is new boss doesn't like it. It take a couple of minutes, often its where can I get? what dies this mean in a letter??? Well today he should go bald, I bought from expenses mince pies, Christmas cake slices and toffees for all the customers to enjoy. Oh and I also bought biscuits for them.

Oh finds out in January if his company will be still trading, so we are living on the edge. I am scared, what if it folds..... so I am taking each day as it comes.

Tomorrow we are going to place the wreathes on OH grandparents graves. It is a little drive away but maybe we can have lunch in a pub just as our little Christmas treat.

    Post later folks. x

Catch you all later, hope you all have a peaceful weekend ....Sheila

I just wanted to say, I was put on beta-blockers in my early 20s for a period of two months and I thought I was dying. The brain fog was horrendous, I wasn't tired - I was exhausted and my heart beat was so slow and laboured I was only happy when I was asleep. That is all I wanted to do, sleep and I had a five year old.
They can certainly have a nasty effect on you...

If you're not happy, go back to your doctors and ask for a review of the meds. I hope you're feeling better soon. xx

Hi just popping on to say congrat to Fuddle on new job, commiserations to Wondercollie for lack of job.
Kidcat stop beating yourself up its 1 day out of many who gives a stuff if it's bought or homemade I am sure the family would rather have a well mum and shop bought cake than a sick one who ran herself into the ground making everything and you being ill will not bode well for anyone over the festive period.
Sheila hope your foot heals up quickly and try not to worry too much about the heart troubles easier said than done I know xx

They made me cry constantly. I was taken off them after a couple of days as I burst into tears every time anyone spoke to me.
