Fuddle congratulations thought you would not stay just a carer for long. You will miss your clients but it will be great not do be dashing here there and everywhere.
Suggestion for lunches try basing them on a salad. To get the variety try every vegetable that can be eaten raw. Base any dressing on yoghurt rather than mayonnaise.
Sheila I can understand why you feel down so much has happened in the last few months.
Don't worry about the heart thing it could very easily turn out to be just one weird thing that happens as a reaction to lots of physical and emotional trauma. Don't be surprised if they never find anything.
When I had my operation last year I experienced something similar. I did not get transferred as I was already in intensive care. They did lots of tests and never found a thing. One good thing that happened was they changed my blood pressure tablets that caused all sorts of problems and I now have no side effects from that.
All of these problems must be keeping you from visiting your DH so ask family to take you every day over Christmas and spend as much time together as you can.
Only a couple of weeks and you will have a new year for a new beginning. It is time for some "me time".
For those who are getting stressed out over Christmas hugs. I am so laid aback about it this year I don't even care if we get a Christmas dinner. I just hope Mr M gets stuck with thousands of Turkeys for removing all trace of frozen chicken and at least half the savers range to make way for Christmas goods. They did not even need to do it. The shop is enormous they have double aisles between the shelves.
The last of my parcels and cards went yesterday. DS took them to the post office as yet again I was waiting in for a builder and the postman today. I had the same problems as you Monna so I used a whole reel of sellotape.
Builder was not able to fix the leak in the bay window due to the weather and there is no forecast for it to stop yet I I will have drip, drip, drip until the new year.

SDG31000 I am sure you can make the stuff into truffles.
Stiltwalker if DD went to bed at 6pm she is going to be up well before the birds. Your as far north as me so I know it is still dark until about 8.30am.
Not been out for more than about an hour in weeks constantly waiting in for deliveries or builders. I think it must be at least 6 weeks since I went anywhere but Mr M.
DS got a letter today about his sanction. He has only gone and appealed against his sentence before he had his hearing. If the procedure for appealing was not a "State Secret" he would have done it right.
He has now agreed I do it for him and I can write to our MP. We had a Christmas card from her she just looks like an ordinary mum and probably grandma as she is in her 50s I would guess.
I have £30 in gift cards for Mr S (from doing surveys) so will go on Friday and get all my shopping for the next couple of weeks. £30 should be a big help. I don't count my survey vouchers as free after all they usually take some time to do and they pay you a pittance. They are earned.
Better get my draft written for DS's appeal.0 -
Morning all
Fuddle - Congrats on the promotion! Very well deserved.
Possession - How's the house sale/purchase going?
Kidkat - Hugs to you, hope you're feeling a bit brighter x
Shelia - Sorry you're feeling so rotten - hope the decrease in tablets helps x
Stilty - Glad to hear Little Miss Stilty is on the mend! And Yay to getting your essays in!
Monna - I did laugh at the idea of a "nude present"!
I seem to be haemorrhaging money this week. One of DH's club friends was selling a telescope he'd been after for a while at a great price so some unexpected funds were spent there, then a local FB selling site had a listing for a parrot cage that I just knew would be ideal, a tenth of the original price and only a year old....couldn't turn it down. Parrot is now happily ensconced in said cage and singing away.
Took DD2 to Bruges yesterday - it was lovely, even though DD has a stinking cold she battled on and very much enjoyed some "mummy" time. We went via coach but on the way home we were minus one passenger as they failed to return to the coach. The company tried calling but their mobile was turned off. We waited for over half an hour but then had to leave to catch the euro tunnel. I do hope whoever it was, was ok.
Need to do a general clean and tidy round this morning and pop out for a few last minute bits and bobs. Got 4 bits of work to frame for local people and then I might just get time to make something for my parents.
Off to Hyde Park on Saturday with my friend, we're going to be "ladies wot does Christmas stuff" at Winter Wonderland. We met at ante-natal classes and have spent years doing stuff for the kids so decided we were going to have a grown ups only day out just for us"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Spots a lot better this morning and no not an early morning - she must really have needed her sleep as she didn't make her way through to us until 9.30! Now watching Frozen for the umpteen millionth time this week alone!
Nurse Maggie - good luck with your letter for DS.
Pooky - glad you had a good time with DD2, my mum came down yesterday to cheer Miss Stilty up - she brought a bag full of Frozen things from the works and was inducted into Frozen by Miss Stilty then we left her watching it again after lunch while we nipped into town. She loved the wreath you did us - can't wait til she sees her pressie next week - Hx
Lazy day today (if I can manage it, not very good at sitting down lol - so will probably be a lazy day for everyone else while I potter round the hose doing stuff) - catch you all later - Hx0 -
Fuddle Congratulations :j So pleased for you.
saving queen - I've been thinking about cornishchick too. I hope she's okay. Sending you (((HUGS))) CC if you're reading along.
kidcat Hope you're feeling a bit better, thinking of you x
stilty glad DD is on the mend
Sheila Sorry you're feeling so low atm. If it's the tablets making you tired, you may well find you start to feel better as your body gets used to them. When I was put on a beta blocker about 18 months ago they made me so tired that I was in despair, wondering how on earth I was going to cope with life in general especially as OH isn't able to do much, but I adjusted to them gradually, and even though the dose has been increased twice I feel better than for a very long time. So don't despair x
Pooky Glad you and DD enjoyed your trip despite her cold. I did a similar trip with OH eight years ago and can't believe it was so long ago! I know it was eight years ago, because when I got my good winter boots out last week i found the receipt was in their box and it was dated dec 2006. And I bought them specially to wear to Bruges, expecting it to be very cold, possibly with snow on the ground, and in fact it was so mild that I went around all day with my feet feeling much too hot
maggie I hope your MP is helpful x
I posted all my cards y'day, and then of course i received two more this morning from folk i hadn't sent one to. But in one case it was just as well, as it turned out she'd moved house a few weeks ago so she wouldn't have received my card anyway! So at least I can send one to her new address.0 -
Thank you so much for the positive words about my promotion.
Youngest DD is booked into breakfast club and eldest can be dropped off in the yard on the way to work. My commute will be 7 minutes. It's unclear, and won't be clear until tomorrow, if I can work a 6 hour day instead of 8 so I can do the school run and after school care of the girls, or whether I will have to pay a lot of money for a child minder. There were hints about reduced hours so we'll just see how it plays out. Either way I will seek to solve the problem. I won't have to pay for childcare for eternity.
I have had a poorly chest for the past few days but this morning it has ramped up it's effect on my breathing. Heavy working weekend ahead so I am on paracetamol and drinking hot orange and honey as I type to you.
DH is out on his Christmas Do tonight so the children and I will have cheese and ham toasties for tea this evening and use up some on the turn bananas in custard for supper. I plan on having my feet up and relaxing in peace and quiet once the girls are in bed
Had my Christmas rota and this year I am off Christmas DayI worked a lot of it last year so really very happy.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and messages. I am a little brighter today having got an awful lot of big jobs out of the way and accepted that this year I have failed and arranged to buy Christmas cake and pudding instead of making my own.
OH has been away all week, and I have had to arrange hotels etc for him all over the country. I broke down at the weekend and couldn't stop sobbing. I have told OH that I can't do this all alone any more, and that I have failed. He has agreed to look for a new job with regular hours in the new year. I had a panic attack whole shopping the other day so I know I am in a bad place.
I do have some good news though, in that one of my jobs this week was delivering all our unwanted cat food to the local shelter, while there a kitten shouted to me across the place, I had a chat with the staff and having chatted with OH (in Glasgow) he agreed we could give her a home so I am collecting her tomorrow. The kids will be thrilled and I think she will provide a lovely distraction for me. Perfect timing really as the kids finish school tomorrow so can all spend time helping kitty settle in.
Congratulations fuddle on the new job. Stiltwalker I hope the kids get fully well soon0 -
Have you still got the Ragdolls Kidcat? I often wonder who you're getting on with them. I think one of them would have been too lively for me.0
-
Yes mardatha we have the two raggies and they are absolutely adorable. Kids love them both and they have settled really well. I did feel very guilty though buying a pedigree and not adopting with all the unwanted kitties. But iI wouldn't change either of them as they are both so good with the kids. I think this one will be more feisty though and not take any messing.0

fuddle !!! wow so so good and well deserved. You are a diamond and your employer knows it. Well deserved congratulations
My sister in the SE runs a care company with her husband, has done for over 20 years and they are good. One day fuddle!! They are raking it in but work 24/7 and never let anyone down. I couldn`t cope with their workload for all the tea in the world but they are good employers and very much hands on
Sheila, your doc made a good decision to cut your heart dosage, you will likely start to feel better in 2 days. My dh who is fit and healthy had myocarditis and was put on heart pills, the cardio doc upped the dose to 100 mg a day. Last week he almost passed out outside, was ashen, sweating, pins and needles, dizzy and so tired. His bp was 114 systolic, far too low for him. Doc did a telephone consultation and next day cut his pill by 3/4, two days later he was feeling much better. I cannot tell you what I feel about these drugs. His confidence in his health has been shattered and I have had to tread softly, explaining about aldosterone and sodium for a start. I cannot go on too much but low sodium is now believed to be responsible for many heart problems and he has been v low in our house for 40 years. It is sugar that is the potential killer esp fructose corn syrup. So now in our house we are adding salt to food and it tastes good and we are avoiding all sugars but remember this is our house and us and may not apply to you as dh is an athlete and sweats such a lot when doing his sport0 -

Oh sweetheartNot making your own Christmas cake and pudding is NOT FAILING! I am 61 and have never made a Christmas cake or pudding in my life. Has someone else in the family made them for me all these years? No, I have bought them! I'm horrified that you are beating yourself up over this!
