Thanks for the heads up on the Mirror voucher. I had thought that would be next week. I've missed the last couple of vouchers but am back spending around £45 a week again so it would pay me to get one.
    I am sat snug in a new 'house-jacket', a buy from Am@zon, it's a cross between a short house-coat and a bed-jacket.

Morning all, had a good sleep last night. Have to take my 8 steroids in one shot first thing in the morning and what I can only describe as a huge saucer shaped anti biotic.

I am only working till lunchtime today, have arranged cover to come in early. Then we are due to go to Frankie n bennies for a FREE MEAL. It is work related, OH is going too but if I am honest I am not eating very much.

Off to get 2 news papers, will attempt to womble some if I can too x

    take care x

It takes me an hour to manage my 8 steroids nutty and the antibiotics are huge. It's odd that everything else is getting smaller but pills seem to be getting bigger :)

Dd8 was ready for school mega early today, it's so much easier when she is the only one in school. Ds16 is going into college but not until 10.30 so it's a very relaxed start to the day. I will need to shop again, despite an online order, having OH off work means he is eating constantly. Every time I turn round he has made another sandwich or eating packets of biscuits. Considering he won't get any post next week at all we need to be cutting down which he doesn't seem to comprehend. I have made a huge stew in the SC this morning which should easily last us two days and leftovers for the freezer so at least I know meals are sorted for bit anyway.
  • Morning all,

Fuddle, so glad you have found a solution you are comfortable with and that you've made peace with yourself about it. I think you'll enjoy your holiday so much since you've now decided the terms.

Nutty, thank you for the voucher heads up. We may not get one this time round, but I always appreciate your reminders with all of the other things you have going on! Enjoy your meal!

Kidcat, It is harder to keep them fed when they're home, isn't it? I'm trying not to think about the fact that after today's lunch I think we'll be out of tuna. This makes me a bit nervous as it is one of the items I like to keep in store for emergencies. Between a lean shopping month and OH going off-piste with the menu plan it can be hard to keep up! Still, we're managing and there is food in the cupboard.

Ginny, meant to say yesterday congratulations on the fantastic weight loss.

Right, back to work for me. I've just finished my break, but I'm sure OH will be in in five minutes asking me if I want a cuppa. He is sweet and it is nice to see more of him in half-term, but it is also nice when he goes back to work!:rotfl:

    Morning all

Chilly here this morning but I've shoved a couple of wash loads on the line in the hope it will get a bit drier.

DH has gone back to bed with a migraine. He's not in a good place at the moment. He's off to the Dr's next week as they want to discuss the possibility of him having fibromyalgia along side all his other issues. Trying to keep things positive and upbeat but it's not easy sometimes.

DD1 has gone off to an interview for a different supermarket job - her current one has her on an 8 hour contract but demands she has availability for at least 30 hours a week which she just can't do with Uni. Fingers crossed she gets this one, they have invited her for a one to one instead of the group style that they normally do so hopefully this means they're very interested in her.

Lots of work to do this morning so I've just found my shawl, a snood and filled my hot water bottle up - gets chilly sitting around so long.

Dinner this evening will be something involving roast veg - will have to have a think.

  • Morning Toughies, the house smells lovely at the moment, I've got a big pot of lentil soup simmering away as it's cooler today and just what we need to warm us up. He Who Knows is on the lottie getting some leeks for DD2 and we're off foraging in a mo for greenery for her to do her wedding flowers tomorrow. A lovely lady in the village has given us a big bunch of two coloured pittosporum which is very pretty and I've been picking out some wild stuff that will do the job nicely too she's got 26 vases to do on Saturday!!!

I think our warm spell has actually ended now and I'm actually looking forward to a bit of cooler weather. I know it means heating on or lighting stoves but it feels really wrong being this warm at the end of October doesn't it?

I am happy to have more seasonal weather too. The summer duvet is still on but DH won't budge until we have a cold night. I like my big springy duvet as opposed to a thin slither of a one. Doesn't that man know I am a wannabe prepper ;) I mean, to endure a cold night before action? Surely it would make better thinking to avoid a cold night altogether?! :rotfl:

Having the last of the Moussaka for lunch then off to do a one hour stint then relax as I have the whole day off tomorrow :D

I say relax... I have just found out my 3 month home inspection is due Tuesday 4pm. I will be het up until that is over with. The joys of private renting

FUDDLE...I think youve definitely made the right decision over your christmas plans , its so not fair on your family to put up with all that crap....

STILTY....Hope your children soon get better too, weve got more sickies on the thread than well people this week.....

WOW your all doing so well with your christmas shopping , good for all of you , not to get stuck in the christmas frenzy of shopping , I actually havent done any christmas shopping for the past 3 years now, instead ive given all family members money or gift tokens , I find it best way of "not wasting money" as I never know what to get them....Ive just got 2 little ones in the family to buy a gift for, as the others are a bit older and they would rather have money.....

I always say to family "please dont get me anything", if you must then buy me a bunch of lillies , as they are my favourite cut flower..
My foot is feeling so good right now , ive got no shooting pains up the heel and the only sore bit is is where the cut is , im so happy that its getting better real quick, hopefully when I see surgeon on Monday he will book me for the other foot, perhaps finally by christmas I will ba able to walk....:D:D:D:D.....
Ok all , dont forget to smile.....sheila
