Their antics have made it easy for me to make the decision. If I was dealing with people who thought about what was right for me and mine then maybe I would have a little compassion but no, I have had enough now. I feel like I have given chance after chance.

Anyway, that decision was made ages ago. I kept it quiet, along with mam's summer stay, because it coincided with the break away from MSE I had. When she was down it was like I was living the life up North all over again. My ability to cope, or not take things to heart, was skewed. Being online was an added pressure.

I have never had moussaka before and although I am unsure about the feta cheese element, I actually quite liked it!

Heat pads on knees as I type. They are acting up again and hot water bottles I got on Amazon are £1.87 each plus free delivery. I will find the link. Kids fancy a fleecy cover as opposed to crochet so I will most probably raid the blanket box.

Monna I am trying to lose weight believe it or not :rotfl:

Fuddle - hugs lovey and I'm another who is sure you will have a lovely Christmas with your lovely little family. Last year we had my parents over which was lovely and I'm so glad we did as we now don't have room for them to sleep over in any kind of comfort. Having my parents was great - just more fun and extra hands, but we have also had PIL and that's an entire different story. We've also been up to my parents which is lovely - being looked after - but this year we have also decided to have Christmas just the 4 of us. I'm about 3/4 of the way through my shopping now, done a lot of it on facebook pages (thanks poky for setting me off in that direction!) so got some really original things, DH wants a Kindle and my mum is paying half on a drum carder so I'm having the other half for my pressie from DH and the kids - although I do think it will be for DD as much as me! She was so funny at Yarndale when my mum offered me half for joint Christmas/birthday and jokingly said or all of it if you can convince your DH that's what he wants, DD used her talker to pipe up with Daddy want, Daddy like!! lol

Had my sewing machine out today for the first time since we moved. I've made an owl doorstop and a pincushion from this lovely pattern I got at yarndale which makes a fab star shape, it was supposed to be for me but DD claimed it as a cuddle cushion the minute that I'd sewn up the last side seam! Guess that's me making another one for myself. The pattern can be made up any size depending on the size of squares used, my plan is to make really big ones in waterproof fabric for full size beanbags in the sensory garden, will still need keeping in the shed but should mean we can sit out in comfort!

Got 2 under the weather kids - had to go pick up DS from nursery early and DD is so shot at she can't sit upright so going to have them both at home tomorrow - hopefully then DD will be well enough to go in on Friday for Harvest Festival and last day of term as she has been working so hard on it.

Hope you are all ok. Catch you all later - Hx

stiltwalker - hope the littlies are better soon, I am nearly finished shopping too :) Its a relief to be almost there, leaving time for enjoying the extra bits of Christmas :)

My enforced rest has seen me shop with vigour and actually have time to look at the bargains and offers out there, back to a few years ago when I first learnt to be a savvy shopper, recently I just havent had time and have ended up buying something without the research.

Ideally I want to be finished by the first week in November, hoping to bake the teacher cake next week, so I can feed it a fair amount of brandy before gifting it - I figure they deserve a drink after the week they had with DS10 :

Lovely dinner tonight if anyone wants a different way of using up rubber chicken.

    1 small onion diced

    1 carrot diced

    garlic

    fresh root ginger

100gms cooked chicken diced or use up all the little bits

2 or 3 slices of bacon diced

    any bendy veg

I had a few florets of broccoli needing using today

    2 tbsp baked beans

I also added a few peas and some sweetcorn

    1/2 tsp coriander seed

pinch of tarragon you can use any herbs I like tarragon with chicken
but I find it a little strong so don't use a lot.

If you have enough leftover mashed potatoes use them
or put on some potatoes to boil for mash.

fry the onion, carrot, with the garlic and ginger

I use the lazy ginger and garlic. I buy the Asian ones and they work out
cheaper than fresh about 1/3 of the price of the branded stuff and they
    are no different.

Make a white sauce and pour over, add salt and pepper and the veg
    cook for a few minutes.

spoon into an oven proof dish mash the potatoes and put on top
add about a sprinkling of grated cheese on top. bake at 150c for about 20 mins or 5 mins in the microwave. Would warm through nicely in a top oven too.

You can prepare this before hand. Just the thing to warm up after the shopping or when you get in from work.

No name because I only just made it up but I think you could vary the ingredients. Was really nice. One of those meals DS nearly cleans the glaze of his plate.

fuddle good for you. Wish you had put the link for the hotties before I just bought two with covers today in P**ndstretcher. They did not have without covers. I could have knitted covers, got a nice cable pattern.

Nutty the doc did not tell you to rest for the sake of it you will not get well without rest.

Hugs for all those in need.
