I don't do FB kboss partly because of the bragging aspect that some people indulge in. Sorry you are in a trough at the moment, you will come out of it, it won't be forever. Are there people you would like to catch up on, a hobby you would like to try, some voluntary work, some sort of project (like decluttering!) - why not brainstorm a bit and make some "to do lists" if you don't already do that. Even shopping somewhere different, listening to a different radio station, anything to get out of a rut.

I am late with dinner today so we are all eating together for a change. Boys had a snack after school and haven't complained of being hungry yet but the smell is driving me mad - fish pie mmm.

Well I switched the puter off. and down came the hail and it was definitely worse. Finally the contractor phoned me. At last after nearly two months of this bay window ceiling drip, drip, dripping. They are going to fix it tomorrow morning. They have been calling me on a mobile phone I do not have.

Actually I have had to go to the hospital in much worse weather when I was still weak as a kitten from the operation. Trains have been cancelled and messed around and it has taken 3 hours to go 9 miles. Then been told to come back tomorrow because I was late. They got a mouthful from me for that one.

I hope we do not have a winter like the last one. I was in West Sussex then and seemed to be going to the hospital in every storm. The constant wind here has seemed like nothing.

Well I must go out as soon as I can.

Yes Elisa I went into school to talk to them today and they were incredibly relieved it was because he was ill, as they were totally at a loss what had gone wrong. They have said that while normally encourage parents to send kids in with the meds after 3 days they are recommending he took the rest of the week to fully recover rather than end up upset again.

Nurse Maggie sounds a nightmare for you. This weather has been so bad surely they could make an allowance for you.

Ginny wow what an amazing weight loss, well done.
OH stayed off work today as his cough is awful, Dd20 had to miss uni and go to the doctor as she looked awful this morning, so another one with antibiotics!!

Fuddle I have OH heated pot thingy from Aldi out when I am dishing up meals and then I portion it alongside the rest of the plates. If there is any left after that it gets put into a freezer container ready for days when he has nothing.

Cats are running wild with this weather, diving off staircases, over chairs etc, its a case of duck for the flying cat

I did a t@sco order today rather than go out, but stupidly timed it wrong around normal school runs, means we wont have it until tea time when I really need it earlier :) Off to try to reorganise it.

    Evening all

I have read and really should have taken notes as it's all fallen straight back out of my brain.....so hugs to those in need, tissues to those with snotty bits and sympathies to those who need them too.

After feeling great yesterday, I woke up with a very heavy feeling to my kidneys and realised the infection hasn't gone.....back to the GP's this afternoon for something a bit stronger and a longer dose too.....hope they kick in quick cos I feel pants again now.

On the plus side, whilst waiting for my prescription I spied some lovely snuggly jimjams with gingerbread men on (I have a bit of a gingerbread man passion) so I treated myself and very snuggly and comfy they are too.

Oh that was last year KidKat. Just a world that does not allow for anyone not to have a car. What you spend weekly on your car is more than DS and I have to live on for all bills, food and clothing. Many others are exactly the same.

Sounds like the cats should be looking after you all they have plenty of energy.

Pooky hope the meds work this time. Love the sound of your jimjams.

By have you all chattered today can't keep up so hugs to all the poorlies get well soon.

Its so true, there is no consideration for those without a car, I have spoken to three sets of parents in the past week who are all being penalised because public transport is so unreliable they are late for school regularly, one mum said she told them to provide a car if they didnt like it. I am aware that I couldnt get my kids all into school without a car, simply due to distances and lack of public transport near us. It worries me that we are so reliant and becoming more so not less.

Pooky there is an increasing tendancy to only prescribe 3 days for a kidney/water infection, not sure why this has come about as everyone who I know who has had it has always had to go back after 3 days to get more which seems a waste of resources really.

Thanks. Yeah I've been visiting friends and family in other cities I haven't seen for ages, catching up on projects, tidied most of my flat (bedroom notwithstanding) but I'm kind of tied with lack of funds and the unexpected increased expenditure. I've cut back to the minimum but it's still Aberdeen.

  • KBOSS rather than sit at home being aware of the deficiencies of life (not easy and not nice either) would you consider volunteering somewhere within reach to just get you out of those 4 walls for some time some days? I don't know where you'd be happy working but places like charity shops, animal sanctuaries, RSPCA rehoming centres, hospitals. homeless centres, food banks etc. all usually need extra people to carry on the very good work they do and sometimes doing something like that gives rise to opportunities you will never have considered. I often think that the harder you search for the door to opportunity the less you can see it and that by letting opportunity search you out is the quicker way of making changes in life. Chin up chicken, you'll get there, Lyn xxx.
