Sheila/shergar/chickens easy to say but try not to brood on the MRI. The result will be what it will be, and no amount of thinking will change it. It is more likely to be something simple than something complex, and if it is something complex you will deal with it when the time comes. Look at all the worries you had whilst caring for your OH - you still got through it and it all worked out well.in the end. Look after yourself and try to live in the moment and take pleasure in each day as it comes. One life - your life - live it!0

Good news yesterday, my friend who had the emergency mouth cancer op got the all clear for results from her lymph nodes. Phew.
Wishing everyone who has checks going on similar good news.
My DD was on stage at the RSC yesterday, doing a mish mash of all the Henry plays for a combined school project. They were all great.
Going to pick up some moving boxes someone is giving away (ever optimistic, the housing market appears to be dead as a dodo here) today, and the painting should also be finally finished.Going to spend the weekend trying to look through someone else's eyes to find out what else can be done and also sell a couple of bookcases and the old computer desk to make some more space. The house will look lovely by the time we're finished but I'm wondering if I'll be so sick to death of it that I'll be glad to move.0 -
Sheila hugs, hoping time passes quickly for you so at least it's all done with
Possession, have seen lots of removal vans emptying houses this past few weeks, so hopefully the market is starting to pick up for you.
Nurse Maggie hugs, you do have a tough time,
Am full of DS16 bugs today and can barely speak, throat is incredibly sore. So have done school runs, shopped then home, made a veg soup and then sat under duvet. Got to take dd20 to bus stop just before 1pm then it's off to assembly at Ds10 school. Half expecting a call to say they need me after another massive meltdown yesterday, I asked them to call today to let me go in to settle him rather than spend three hours in total chaos.
Am on kitchen duty at dd8 school disco later but am hoping to swap into another area rather than infect everyone.0 -
Very good news Possession, it all seemed like an incredible whirlwind of shock and frightening action but with news like that, the care your friend has received has been great. Here's to a calm period for you all P. Are you managing to cope ok with all the changes to your home and possessions? You sound very positive in what must be an incredibly difficult time for you.
Kidcat, me too. I'm about to make the odds and ends of veg into a soup. I have no idea how it will taste... that's half the fun.
Prepper I am not. I have ran out of butter  How that has happened I do not know but it has. Shopping arrives this evening so it soon won't be a problem but a couple of Q's:
1) I can make butter by agitating cream can't I? (for future reference!) and
2) does a slab of butter freeze ok?0 -

Slabs of butter freeze really well.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Fuddle I usually keep all my butter in freezer, as we use so little other than baking it can go off if I am not careful. It's always fine afterwards.0

Fuddle, as others have said, butter freezes really well, but because we mainly use olive spread in this house, I tend to cut each pack of butter into 6 or 8 bits, wrap them in greaseproof paper and keep them in a plastic tub in the freezer. I mainly use butter as a base for a white sauce, things like that, so by this system it's really easy just to get out a small chunk without having to defrost a whole pack. It seems a bit of a faff at the time, but whenever I can go to the freezer and take out a little chunk, I am glad I have done it! HTH.0

Fuddle I've had better times, let's put it that way. I would be glad to get the house business out of the way so I can concentrate on everything else but we've not had a viewing for 2 weeks now.0
