Kidcat - we haven't used the alarm system yet. To e honest I was put off it. According to a number of patents I know. If you have a sensitive child or light sleeper once the alarm goes off Its scares the life out of the child and can't get back to sleep.
Ds 2 hardly sleeps so I didn't bother trying it.

But he is taking oxybutin 5ml on the morning.
Desmopression melt on the night before bed.

Both together work brilliantly no side effects, headaches etc

Desmopression you take an hour before bed, no drinks after that till say 5am the next day. After 12 weeks you take a week off then if need wetting solved no need to go back on. If needed just repeat for another 12 weeks.

Takes 24 hrs for both medications to be flushed out of system. But can be stopped and started anytime.

Well boy's room sorted for carpet fitting. Tomorrow take ds2 bed down and he can sleep with us. By Monday evening back room.

Still got loads to do but could feel my legs starting to go.

Wow, the sun has just come out and the world looks different.

Sheila: Lots of love and hugs for Monday. There will be an awful lot of virtual hand holding going on. If you get too scared just think of the tight circle of loving thoughts surrounding you.

Lyn: Don't you just wish that you could take all that terror away from our Docky? It is so awful when a beloved pet suffers and you can't do a thing about it. I know where you are coming from when you say 'No more pets.' We did the same after our last cat died and we have stuck to it. We didn't feel we could put ourselves through that much anguish again. In my life I have loved and lost many animals but as I get older the pain of losing them seems to get worse. I think it was Laurie Lee who said "All love lives by moving towards its end, and is sharpened by the snake bite of farewell within it." Very true of the love we have for our pets I think.

Well, we are off back to the Island for a few days after the Rev's morning service tomorrow. I can't wait to see my Mia, judging by the pictures I have seen she is a real little girl now. Where did that baby go? I must go and iron a few things to pack and wrap a few birthday things to be distributed at appropriate times.

Honestly, we are going for less than a week but there is so much to organise before we go. I do like to leave the house immaculate so that it is welcoming when we get back, a concept that escapes the Rev completely. She is contentedly watching TV while I dust, mop and vacuum round her. Anyway - packing now.

    Behave while I'm away!

DD8 has to make a scene from a shoebox depicting palm sunday!! Now don't get me wrong I know the story etc and have done tableaus etc over many years as a childrens worker, however those were many weeks in planning, preparation and building, none were ever achieved in a weekend!!!!

Can't you just ..... Refuse? I'm boogered if I would do that. :-/

It isn't even remotely the right time of year to be doing anything about Palm Sunday!

Personally I would, however DD8 is mortified at the idea of not doing it.

I have got hold of a shoe box and tomorrow we will plan it out and then Monday I will go into school and say that while I disagree with it we will do it but it will take a few days to accumulate everything needed.

Jem am glad you now have a plan for food.

My back has really given up tonight again so I have left the house looking awful and sat down to try to calm it back down. Tomorrow I need to drive the bathroom job to the finish, OH has still not finished painting it, even after I stayed up in Friday night after he was asleep to repaint the ceiling because he had left it looking awful but I knew he would flip if I complained about it.
  • Docky's asleep in his armchair, Zebra's asleep in his cot, DD2 has gone off to have dinner with her pals and I'm going to make us some supper. She'll be back at 11 ish unless baba gets very upset but she's left the buggy set up so if needs be I can walk him round the block to get him to sleep again.

MONNA yes, I really do wish I could speak dog and take his fear away, I know it's going to end when it's thunder but he just knows he's scared and until it ends, he'll stay scared. No more pets is sensible I think although what we'll really miss is the walking on a regular basis every day and it's OK saying we'll go anyway but if the weather is bad or we're really busy I know we won't. We'll jump that when it comes but I'm really hoping for a quieter night tonight for all of us.

    Evening everyone!

Just popping in to say hello, and wish Shergar (Sheila- will always be Shergar to me!) good luck for Monday - I googled as I didn't know what the problem was, and it sound's like it should be the least of your problems! Hope the feet get sorted out, nothing worse than constant pain to bring you down.

Mrs L - would you consider being a foster mum to rescue dogs when the time comes? Most rescues would bite your hand off, you are rescue 'gold'. If you are able to remember the dog is not yours, you can have all the pleasure of walkies and the companionship, without the emotional ties. Very rewarding, and vet bills are usually covered too. Or consider the Cinnamon Trust, who care for pets of people who have to go into care or hospital, another great cause.

Kidcat - what on earth is the school thinking??? I would go into the school and tell them it will be ready for next Easter!

Quite a few toughies seem to be under the weather or being sorely pressed - so hugs all round!
