I'm sure those drinks will be fine SQ. You can always decant them if necessary!
Pooky that made me shudder. I trapped a large spider in a glass yesterday and was waiting for DH to come home and deal with only to be shown up by my 9 yr old daughter who calmly picked it up and took it outside. Honestly, if I hadn't witnessed her c-sec birth I'd think she belonged to someone else.

Sorry Possession did not mean to worry you, you have enough on your plate just thought you should know some of the costs.

I hope everything works out OK and there will be no need for this move it can be very stressful. We too moved from one end of the country to the other only we went from South East to North West. ours was a forced move because of costs. We have not yet been here 6 months.

I hope you get a better job and you are pleased you did the declutter.

Yes my parents are staying at MILs - they're away for 2 weeks and we're up twice a day to feed the cats (they're in the next village) - my parents live at the other end of Kent and Dad finds the drive hard work now - all his brothers and sisters still live here so they're taking the opportunity of a bed for a few nights to do the duty visits and spend some time with DD's. Will be lovely to see them for a few days but I'm already dreading the trying to feed them issue - as I've said before - bland bland bland - no pasta, no rice - no herbs or spices...I've cooked a gammon joint for tomorrow to have with egg and chips....but beyond that I shall have to see what they think they might fancy.

Possession - I'm not good with spiders - I'm afraid they all went up the hoover - I know some people will slate me for that but I just cannot deal with them - wasps and bees, moths and earwigs all get put back outside but spiders.....no.

At least it will be lovely to see them Pooky - will they eat a mince and onion plate pie with mash and veg? I cook my mince and onions in lots of gravy then use a slotted spoon to put in the pie case, that way my pie isn't too soggy but I have plenty of gravy for the mash. Nice, or maybe even nicer, cold for lunch the day after too. Actually thinking about that I must get a pack of mince out of the freezer and do one for us now!

Toad-in-the-hole and lots of veg and gravy. Fish pie. Roast dinner. Substantial salad with new pots and sliced meat. Omlette with chips and salad. Shepherds pie. What do they eat at home - mostly meat and 2 veg meals?

Thanks for the suggestions guys - they're just so fussy. It's hard to fit in their needs around ours as they'd happily eat pork or lamp chops with a bit of mash and veg, I can't afford chops for 6, it's not within my budget. Mum won't eat mince, I cant put onion in anything either. They're not keen on fish and DH is allergic so I rarely cook it at home.

I'm going with gammon, egg and chips tonight, roast chicken with new potatoes and salad tomorrow, thankfully my aunt has just invited them to stay for dinner on Monday....gives me chance to turn the chicken carcass into stock and then into some sort of soup for the next day.

Anyway....guess what I found in the bath this morning.....yep one of those ruddy huge field spiders...they've followed me from MIL's!!! Certainly woke me up!

    Oh and....

Happy birthday Fuddle!!!!! Hope you have a lovely day.

Morning all. Your posts make me laugh. Especially the daughter with the spider. Sorry, names not sticking this morning, I'm a real sleepy head this morning.

We are another family who moved away (to stop bankruptcy in our case). We moved 200 miles north, a more simpler, cheaper life style and we've never been happier.
