  • Neighbours are so much more obvious when it's as hot as it has been these past weeks and you've got doors and windows open all over the house. I had such a rotten nights sleep last night that I had a nap this afternmoon and was rudely awakened by our neighbour and his wife who have an ageing completely untrained jack russell screaming at it in the garden as it wouldn't stop barking because it wanted them to kick its football. They bellowed in turn and made much more noise than the wretched dog!!! Grrrrrrrrr!!!

DD sent lovely text from Zambia and said they did a dawn drive this morning and saw a leopard, elephants, hyenas, buffalo, lions, giraffes and zebras and that she literally bumped into an elephant in the camp as she went to the shower block this morning. Had another one this evening to say they'd been on a night safari and while they were away the elephants had trashed the two tents that had the food supplies in them, not so good!!! They fly from Lusaka to Johannesburg tomorrow and leave the camp at 5 in the morning and them will fly from Joburg to London arriving very early on Monday morning. I'll be pleased when she's home I've missed her!!! Lyn xxx.

    How do I look please?

Lyn Sounds fabulous. Maybe the elephants could come and steal my food supplies then I might not eat as much. Not many sleeps until she's back x

Well DH shouted in the middle of the night he couldn't find a way out of the bed.......??? I shot up thinking it was something major, then he was roaming round the bedroom saying he couldn't find the way out....???

I shot up out of bed and ran over to the en suite to put the light on, while doing so I nearly knocked myself out on the door frame. My head is still banging now.

The worst of it is I have a lamp next to the bed, why oh why did I not put that on???

    You may laugh ;)

    Crieky, where is everyone?!

Just got back from an early morning visit to my lottie, brought home a cabbage, cucumber, french beans, tomatoes, a few autumn raspberries and lots of blackberries :D

Now need to get started on the topper for an 18th birthday diving & underwater cake I'm doing for next weekend, lots of little fishes & coral to do too.

DH is planning to make a curry with some of the beans, think its cheese & tomato omelettes for lunch. Need to make "Allotment soup" from some of last years veg in the freezer plus some rather weedy looking sweetcorn I picked on Thursday. Also want to finish off & bottle the Rhubena & Plumbena I've made from Pam the Jam's River Cottage Preserves book.

Wet & warm here in Blackpool - doesn't seem to be stopping the visitors though as lots of cars going past our windows!

    Nutty I can't see the pics I don't think :)

Mrslw it's raining here again too. I am not as enthusiastic about it as I was yesterday as it's hampering my day. The safari sounds amazing.

    PIC hope you are ok.

What is this hair dresser you speak of? Oh yes that will be that person who charges money for sorting out my mop. My mop that keeps getting swept back with the thoughts "I'll book next week" several weeks ago, possibly a few months ago

I think they should have a hairdresser at the dentist then I would only have to avoid one place :rotfl:
