PIC the trick is to find a good hairdressers that you like and trust. It makes the whole thing a pleasant experience rather than a nightmare. I used to be terrified of the hairdressers but since finding a good one I actually look forward to going.

No rain here - mind you we did have a cracker of a storm over night - fab lightening and really loud rummbly thunder, lots of heavy showers but it was almost dry by the time we got up.

Nutty - I can't see the pics either.

Floss - The cake sounds fab - I'd love to see some pics when you're finished.

My friend just called round on her way back from her farmers market with some goodies for us - 3 packs of organic local sausages (leek, garlic and pepper) and a big pack of sausage meat! That will help with the next few weeks meals, she left with a handful of runner beans and a couple of courgettes straight from the plants so she was a happy bunny.

DH is back in bed, DD2 is out, DD1 is just off to work until 10pm so I'm going to make a big pot of tea, shove the telly on and grab my crochet. I should be sanding paintwork but my head is beginning to pound so it can wait.

Well it started raining here late Thursday night. As the girl on the radio said about an hour ago normal Manchester weather has resumed. The sun is our right now stopped raining about 5 minutes ago.

I had better go to Morries been out of bread since Thursday.

Nurse - I read that as "I've been out of bread sauce since Thursday".....I was a bit miffed about the desire for daily bread sauce. ;)

I need to pick some brains - I've got a large rug I've had for years, it's been cleaned before using a carpet cleaner but it's looking really grubby again - what can I use to clean it - I've got a decent scrubbing brush but what would you use detergent wise? (I don't want to go buy anything) - I've got washing powder, washing up liquid and star drops.....which one do you think will work best? I was aiming to lay it on the patio, hose it down, get scrubbing and rinse before leaving to dry for a few days. It's not a fluffy thing, doesn't have a pile to it, it's more like a utility rug but 5x6ft

When I say "I" I obviously mean a teenager - they have far more scrubbing power than my poor old arms ;)

Pooky - what's it made of? If its washable anyway I'd try & get it in the machine on a wool wash with little or no spin.

It's far to big to fit in the machine sadly.
