    Afternoon all

Nutty - Congrats on your new addition, sounds like he's settled in well.

Another warm one here but there's a fab breeze that's making it bearable.

Had a BBQ for MIL's birthday last night - used stuff from the freezer and storecupboards and only had to buy a pack of rolls. Got loads of leftovers for lunches too...yum!

Going to be decorating next week so will be starting to pack away some bits over the next few days - this afternoons job will be taking down the heavy curtains and getting them out on the line for a good blow through before they get packed away. I've got a cabinet full of glass and collectable bits that needs packing up too.

DD2 is off on holiday with her BF and his family for a few days on Monday so I can use her room to store all the stuff from the living room/study and just push the big furniture into the middle. I'm going from a pale lemon (blugh - was here when we moved in) to roasted red - it's going to really change the feel of the room and I can't wait to see it all finished. Paint was half price a few months ago and I've got rollers and bruses left from doing the kitchen last year so no outlay this week :)

THERE IS A £5 OFF A £10 SPEND AT MR M TODAY IN THE SUN NEWSPAPER - 40P. THIS IS FOR MEAT AND FISH.

Hi all thought I would post the above information first, it is valid until sunday so mite be handy for some of you.
We have been to the pet store today to get buddy a harness, wearing a collar drives him mad. He is currently snoozing. I am arranging for DD to get a photo, itsnot on facebook as we don't want OH family knowing about it yet. Partly as we don't want a house full, the other is its nowt to with them.

The air is heavy and humid here, feel really sleepy but I have work to go to in a bit. shame as I fancy just staying at home.

Pooky I don't envy the decorating, I mite do sme later in the year. SQ glad the repair sewing pile is shrinking Have you looked on freecycle or ebay, often people are selling complete kitchen for next to nothing. Mine came from a skip, someone bought a house and then ripped it out. It included the brand new hob, oven and extractor sink and taps and all the worksurfaces. Best bit of rummaging I have ever done. MRS LW love the talk of zebra, my hasn't he changed lots.

    Take care all, x

kidcat - please have little breaks in between the chaos, pretty please?

I never seem to have much luck with free/cheap big items nutty - having said that I haven't used freecycle for ages and my ebay account has been blocked for years (long story involving pence) but nothing stopping me getting back on both I guess. You did very well with your kitchen. I have to admit I find it hard keeping up with both the "every day" and the extras so just picking a couple of projects at a time. My current priority is decluttering and that's a massive project. Then the decorating and DIY will follow. DH has promised to help clearing out the spare room on Sat - scared to see what is at the back!!

Today's decluttering stint has involved getting to the furthest reaches under our (queen sized) bed - the dust was unbelievable like grey tumble drying lint. Its only half done but nothing is being shoved back under there unless it is genuinely needed so the bedroom looks worse than before (if that's possible!)

Took the boys out fairly early to find somewhere we haven't been to for ages, got a little lost but stumbled upon a nature reserve we have only been to once before when the boys were tiny. Hardly anyone there, it was very peaceful and we had a great time for free. They have a free event on next month which we will go to if nothing else planned. Boys love to have an adventure and discover somewhere new. Then we had a cake in a supermarket caf! (a quiet one) and got a few bits, milk, bread, white vinegar and some YS bits which boys are good at spotting (and helped balance the caf! treat!)

need a cuppa then back to the chores and making dinner, think it will be meatballs in a tomatoey sauce, easy and a favourite here

I have mistakenly been drinking decaff tea for the last two days  That explains the (accidental caffeine-withdrawal) headache and the lack of that 'aaahhhhh' feeling that comes with a good cuppa. I couldn't work out what was wrong and why my tea tasted different and not too brilliant until I looked at the box.

Situation now remedied with a proper cup of tea!

nutty thanks for the voucher reminder :)

SQ - decluttering seems to be my lifes goal!! I got rid of a whole bag of clothes from my wardrobe yesterday and it felt really good. However there is a huge amount more stuff to get rid of.

Pooky good luck with the decorating :)

I collected a wheelchair this morning and then we stopped at the Ice Cream farm on the way home. DS16 is now asleep, but he at least has been out for some air.

DD8 keeps bringing her friends in and out and its driving me bonkers, she is trailing them past where poor DS is lying recovering and she seems to think there is no issue with it. She waits until I am in the middle of something else which means I am not catching her until afterwards. Finally got really cross before and sent her to play out the front instead

OH is off at work somewhere in Leicester and DD19 has gone out so I am racing up and down between the three floors trying to keep order between them all. Its beginning to feel like a long week :)

OOh smiley that will teach you to read the labels better :)

SQ - It will be easier to keep on top of the daily stuff once you've decluttered and when the boys are a bit older - at least the girls stuff is now concentrated in their rooms so I don't get trails of it all round the house.

I've been sorting stuff out for when we do a boot fair, got a bit bag of cd's and dvds that were no longer required so decided to take them to the exchange shop as it's better than boot fair prices - got £32 which I was very pleased with. Have found several bits tucked in a drawer that can go in the bootfair pile too - stuff I haven't thought about since we moved in 3 years ago so it can go. Any money we make is being put towards a family day (I'm hoping to take DD's to Edinburgh christmas markets), DH won't be able to come as the journey would be too much for him but he's happy for us to go have a festive day or two.

Kidkat - I don't miss the hordes of kids traipsing in and out - I salute you!

Morning everyone, even the addicts among us (smileyI'm not pointing fingers ;) )

Tried catching up with allotmenting yesterday and spend four hours burning the hedge DH cut down the other week so this morning I'm aching like a gud un. I'm hoping it rains soon as the taps broken, the water butts are empty and it's too dry to get my spuds up.

It's quiet in here so I can only imagine your all having a most fabulous time, long may it last.

yes silvasava, it really IS Friday! Change of plans today as DS10 found his trainers unbearably tight yesterday. Apparently he mentioned it to DH at the weekend but of course neither thought to mention it to the shoe buyer. None of us fancy a trip into town with Friday shoppers but it is cooler today and needs must. Both boys are loosing their milk teeth at such a rate, good job I have a stash of shiny pound coins (the currency our tooth fairy deals with)

have a good day everyone - quite a few regulars missing lately, where are you all hiding?
