Hi all, we 'think' we have a name for the puppy. BUDDIE. He is my buddy when no ones here lol. The people we got him from came to visit today to check he was ok and settleing in alright Nice that they are careing and came to check up on him. He didn't want to know them from what my daughter said! He slept all night in his house - a dog cage but I don't like that title. The door is open but he like the security. He is currently sprawled out in from on the fireplace on another of his beds. He is rather settled just laying around.

Work was another busy hectic day, I think sometimes the heat brings the worse out of people.

Last day tomorrow to use the aldi voucher from last weeks paper. And tomorrow I have been told there is a £5 of a £10 fresh meat voucher for mr m. May be useful if you have the funds to stock up for the freezer. I am not sure how long it lasts, but I think it may be sunday from what happened with the last voucher.

Hope that's of help to some of you.

    take care all. x

PS. mum is still with my brother. She has no idea we have a puppy yet, didn't think it was appropriate. But I know she is going to love him.

Just popped on to say I had a wonderful day today.

I took the kids to Woodside wildlife and falconry park. They have the old Esso tiger there (if you can remember that) he will be 19 next week. They have him and a young girl tiger who were both caged in horrible conditions so the park raised the money to rescue them. Brought a tear to my eye. Really glad they have somewhere nice to live. All the kids loved it, even the 26 year old.

Nutty If you have never been have a pootle over.

    Hi tuffies

Been MIA for a few days. Hope these are not too late.

MonnaGran Hope the move went OK been thinking of you and
the Rev there will be lots to do still hope it is not too
bad and you soon settle in your new home. If you had my DS
you would be back on line by now. Purely for himself of
course but mine gets done too.Never more than 24 hours.

PIC Well done on the veg it is so exciting when you get
    your first harvest.

KidKat Hope everything is going well with DS after his
    surgery been thinking of you.

Princess what can I say Congratulations on giving up
smoking it is a very difficult thing to do keep it up.
It has now been over 20 years for me.

Can someone help me? How do I sprout mung beans DS loves
    them in stir fries?

Cooked my first soup in the slow cooker today it was lovely.
I have had a SC for years just never thought to do them in
the SC. Actually it is more like bean stew so I needed to
water it down a little. DS won't try it but he did try
yellow fin sole today he is getting better at trying fish
up to twice a week now used to be maybe twice a year. :j

Hope you are feeling better AOT. I know just what it is like.
I have to pace myself too.

I am still getting knitting done OK without pain. Just spent about 5 days trying to do a lace pattern when I finally got it completed I did not like it and it did not show up on my yarn as it is a sort of denim colour. I have had to give up on lacy patterns can't really see what I am doing with my cataracts. Plain knitting and Aran I can do with my eyes shut. For all the times I pulled it out it is knitting up lovely and neat. :D

Did someone say puppy? Nuttyp I think we will need photos!

Thank you for the welcomes. The thread is quieter than I remember it, or is everyone on holiday at the moment?

I have spent the last two days on a training course learning how to build a website using Wordpress. The website I currently have is a bit rubbish so I'm hoping to build a new one. Then I have to link to FB, twitter, linked in, google plus, google pages oh the list is endless! I didn't know there was so much social meeeedja out there!

It's a lot cooler up here in Manchester now. I'd forgotten what it felt like to be able to sleep for seven hours! Oh, and I picked my first cucumber last night :) But sadly a branch laden with apples broke off one of my mini apple trees :( I was gutted as they're not ripe yet. Do you think I could cook them and treat them like cooking apples?

Off to bed as it's been a long day. Stiltwalker I'm glad to hear your littlies are doing OK, all things considered. And congrats on the OU results! MrsLurcherWalker, Bruno sends snores and sniffs to Docky and he can have a cuddle from me!

Sprouting mung beans - put in glass jar and rinse well, drain. Rinse and drain twice/day until they start sprouting. Cook and eat in recipe of your choice. Someone else might be along to add more but that's how I'd do it. HTH.

I have every other post go missing sometimes, which makes confusing reading sometimes :rotfl:

Sometimes the thanks button just shows a square and won't let me press it.

    Morning all

thanks anakat, haven't seen those benches, will see if we can spot any. We are a book mad household!

thanks ivyleaf - we are going at the weekend as DH is coming too, such a long time since we had a big family day out together, really looking forward to it.

thanks Mrs LW - it is so very lovely hearing about Zebra's progress :) nothing like a baby, human or animal eh?

one of our kitchen doors fell off again (need DH to help me put it back on as fiddly), add that to a drawer that now won't close properly, another dudd drawerfront that had to be screwed shut (don't ask) and a rotten bottom bit of wood (forget the name, plinth?) below the kitchen sink cabinet. One day sigh....

My ginormous sewing pile is less than half now but another couple of items have been added. Aiming to do at minimum a little sewing and a little decluttering every day, little steps add up.

determined to get out early before we get sunbaked, off to rally the troops

hugs to anyone who needs them
