    Hi everyone,
First time back here since early hours Saturday, 2 jobs yesterday so out from 9 30 ,back lunchtime but only time to collect then feed kids before moving them to different friends for more childcare so I could go to other job,so picked them up just before 8 treated them/us to takeaway as to knackered to cook ,then bed ,both kids worn out ...long day ,poor dogs were sorted out early hours then after takeaway . SO today kids have come with me to my face painting job ,they were a bit twisty as we had to leave at 9 30 but were brill when we were there ,big house with posh lawns, mad hatters tea party, games on the lawn, maze ,so even though I was busy they either sat and read or were nice to each other ! It was lovely, at the end ds had bought a chocolate biscuit for us all to share ,so before we packed up we sat and watched to world go by eating chocolate, in a world of big teapots and hearts on trees, with white rabbits walking between the trees ....fab .

So now back in the real world ,both kids at school this week mine break up on Thursday,so I will have to decide what I am going to do ,I have spoken to the school a few times last week and haven't really got anywhere ,so think I will speak to the governor, as need to take it to the next level up,,as for year book/leaflet thing ,the wright up is done by another child in class,no other child is missing ,it may just have been an oversight but I doubt it ,the teacher may have been busy but how hard is it to check that if you have 27 kids in class you should have 27 wright ups, to many mistakes have happened to be a mistake.
    Ho hum

Yes hitman needed ,paid for with jam, knitting, facepainting and lots of nice cakes

Hope the nose is getting better,my eldest ds ,when very small once smashed my glasses against my face causing broken glasses and two black eyes !

Kidcat ,so sorry about your friend ,nothing can be said that will make things any better ,for now anyway .

As for teachers gifts ,well I have bought them all ready, dd form teacher is lovely so he will be getting his ,as for ds ,they can take a run and jump :rotfl:

    Hi All,
Been a bit hectic here, partially due to a complete computer breakdown. Its now been replaced..but..ouch.

For teacher gifts, I always see loads of cute ones on pinterest--many very simple and inexpensive ideas but made special with little poems or rhymes--ie a HM key fob with a little paper key attached that says "Thank you for being a key part of my success"

If you're really strapped for time, this is the quickest cookie recipe I've found its and its really lovely--cookies stay fresh for several days. Butter is currently 95p/block at Aldi and they have chocolate chips for 59p/bag. 1/2 bag is perfect for adding to this recipe, which makes about 12 small cookies. Obviously buying one of their 32p (I think that is right) bars and chopping it is more economical but not as quick. HTH.

Oh my yes, I'm so ready for the WC to be over. Honestly I don't much care for any professional sports so I'd be happy to see the rest of it out the door as well. To bad I'm not in charge;)

I've been teaching myself to knit. I must admit my fingers are bit a sore, but its going well. I'm going to try the continental method next--I suspect that one might work a bit better for me. After I pick a method I'll start venturing out into other stitches. I'm surprised at how easily I've managed to get this far, its great for a pick up and go project.
Right, I'd better be off to bed, its a bit late for me. Hugs to all, I'll see what I can do about catching up.x

Oh Pooky very steep learning curve especially regarding the toilet rolls :rotfl: but hey we all did daft things at that age and thought we were invincible - I have just been reminded of that tonight when my ex boyfriend posted some old pics, luckily we are really good friends or I would thump him :o

Nose is ok and the eyes arent as black as I expected, thank you all. Still feel like a bunch of elves are up there with clogs on.

Kidcat we are just learning about how autys deal with various aspects of life with Dgs - so difficult for them it makes me weep. However he has learnt a vital thing this week, he told us he was poorly - no more guessing or discussing now we know at last :T Such a simple thing to other kiddies is a major problem. Now we just have to find a way to cut his nails. His Daddy took him to Gullivers world today and he had a good time until it got busy then it was time to go.

Morning all, had a lovely day yesterday doing zilch. Oh went out, so I snoozed on the sofa. My cyst under my ark burst yesterday, and it was disgusting. It is so sore today, but at least it has gone down quite a bit. I know I need to take more care of myself.

Taking baby rachet to vets this morning for his first jabs and to get him micro chipped. DD has sorted out insurance for him too, they intend to be responsible with their new baby....... He is such a teeny weeny puppy.

This Thursday is my hypnotherapy first session. I have no idea what to expect, any one had this done and can explain??

Will pop back in a bit, take care everyone x

A good morning to you all, lovely sunshine here and nice and cool with curtains and blinds closed and wearing my "too skimpy to wear outdoors summer dress" (don't worry I didn't pay good money for it ;) twas a cast off from my sister from many moons ago.)

I have some paperwork and internet searching to do re secondary schools (need to decide which selection tests to register DS10 for, fill in associated forms etc) which I could have done over weekend. Instead I found many chores that suddenly seemed very pressing :D - so today apart from some laundry and a little washing up, I am on the case.
Nutty :jWELL DONE for taking some me time, yuck and ouch in equal measure to the nasty boil.
Burtha - your DS's school should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. You are a calmer person than me, I would have been hopping mad. Fresh start at next school at least.

Feel other people's WC pain - I live with a sports viewing (not playing :rotfl: )addict - football, tennis, golf. I am watching less and less TV these days but it gets on my nerves having it on lots and not being able to do things with DH or even ask him anything.... I'm WATCHING this.... yeah well I am DOING this. Tonight his lordship is our for a work meal (someone's leaving) and another eve is work BBQ, always seems to be something on. Need a girls' night out I think, feeling a bit like Cinders. right off to hang washing and then armed with a cuppa and a bowl of tinned peaches (I know how to live ) I am putting on my admin hat for a bit. SQ :)

    Hi all.

Burtha: It is unforgivable to treat any child the way your DS has been treated. I was a Primary school teacher for 40 years and even when we had classes of 45 in the 'bad old days' I would have felt that I had completely failed if I ignored a child to that extent. I have to confess that occasionally I watched them all file out at the end of the school day and would think about a certain child, "What have I done for you today?" and if I thought that I hadn't done enough made a mental note to do something special the next day.
It makes my blood boil to hear of lovely children being ignored because they don't make enough fuss. Please assure him that there is a very old teacher here who has taught thousands of children in her time and has heard about him and thinks that he is a very special boy indeed and just knows that he is going to grow up to be the sort of wonderful grown-up that everyone will want to be friends with. Tell him that as long as he knows inside himself that he is an amazing person, it doesn't matter a rat's behind what anyone else thinks.
I think he is just fantastic!

Pooky: Aren't you glad you aren't a teenager any more? All that angst!

Kidcat: Oh, my love. What a horrible thing to have to go through. When does the sh*t stop? Lots of loving hugs. x x x

SQ: Teacher's gifts are a sore point with me. I always felt embarrassed by struggling out to the car at the end of term with armsful of prezzies. We only do our jobs after all. I always made it plain that a homemade card or picture was the most special gift antone could give me.
I did vary this admirable attitude in the case of a titled family who had legendary millions in their coffers. The mother used to bring me some badly made trifle saying, "I know you prefer things the children have made themselves." I felt like saying, "Not from your family dearie, a diamond necklace is the least I expect."

Nutty: Yes I've had hypnotherapy and it is just deep relaxation really. You lie in a comfortable position and the therapist talks you through relaxing every part of your body and your mind. If it's like mine you won't actually go to sleep. You'll be vaguely aware of the therapist's voice, and maybe other sounds but you couldn't care less. You would still be able to react if any emergency occurred and you certainly won't be quackng like a duck or doing any of the silly things stage hypnotists get people to do. I think you'll enjoy it.

Well, it's been a weekend that I'll never forget here. It has been the Rev's last working W/E. On Saturday her churches gave her a party in a beautful field with the most amazing views. There was a few small marquees just in case, but the weather was warm, dry and perfect. There was a jazz band, Karaoke, guitarist and the sight of the Rev and half a dozen staid elderly ladies doing the can-can and the Rev pole dancing round one of the tent props will give me nightmares for months!

On Sunday night it was her Farewell Service. I am still trying to take it all in. The church, and it is a big one, was absolutely packed. They scoured the place for all the chairs they could find and people were sitting all round the walls, in the aisle, on the floor and the last to arrive had to stand in the vestibule with the doors open so they could hear what was going on even if they couldn't see much.
To my astonishment everyone included me in the celebration and at one point the Rev made me go to the front and various people, including some from the Drop-in, who had obviously never spoken in public before, came to the microphone and said what they owed to us. I was in floods by that time but then the Rev made a very moving speech about what she owed to me and before I knew what was happening everyone was on their feet clapping. I thought they were never going to stop and I was so embarrassed I must have looked a right prune standing there with my mouth hanging open.

Sorry for telling you this but nothing like it has ever happened before and won't ever again. I'll go now and hide my blushes.

Back to reality and Bloomin' Boxes.

The girls have designed a thank you card each. Each card says thank you to all members of staff and will accompany a box of chocolates for the staff room that they will give on Weds so there's time to scoff 'em all ;)

Eldest is away at a residential trip tonight  actually, although I am thinking about her a lot I am not beside myself with worry. Hopefully that is progress :)

Chicken with mashed potato and green beans for tea.

Meal planning again at the moment. It is my Autumn meals and will consist of slow cooking. I am thinking of investing in a second slow cooker so I can have steamed pud or soups on the go as well as the main meal. Thinking mind you. I cannat get round having 2 of something!

I hope the 60+ lady has permission off the neighbour over the road to forage her plums? (I think) she's got a nice bowl full there and looked rather shifty in reaching over the fence to get them. I don't know whether it's bitterness of watching her getting all that fruit for free or thinking the lady has a cheek and maybe not got permission. Either way, my nose is firmly out of joint :rotfl:

Monnagran you spend your life giving. Yeah ok, you don't give you assist (every waking moment!) but you're giving yourself so you're giving. ;):p

I can't imagine you getting in that state. You're so strong. You know what to say and when to say it (normally with humour!) Well deserved my friend.

Anyway... here's to monnagranisms eh? :) see, the Rev sees 'em too :p

Monna - Sounds like a very touching and moving end to yours and the Revs time there - (and the praise you got was well deserved!!) When do you actually move?

Fuds - I picked up a small SC at a bootfair last year (initially for DD1 if she was going off to Uni - but as she's staying at home I've nabbed it) - I paid £5 for it and it's fab to have a 2nd one.

Had a lovely morning out with DD's and DH but then spent the afternoon frantically sewing away to get up to date with my work - have just whizzed round and made the beds, hoovered through and bunged the dishwasher on so at least I feel straight again.

The new cordless hoover is ruddy wonderful - it picks up loads (small container though so needs emptying every day - which takes 2 seconds), I'm using it probably 2/3 times a day in various rooms and the whole house gets a go over once a day too!

We had lunch out so haven't need to cook this evening but everyone is now gravitating towards the kitchen to "pick" so think I'll go make some toasties to fill tummies.

Monnagran! It's absolutely my least favourite advert, but in this case it's true - you received all those thanks, all that warmth, BECAUSE YOU'RE WORTH IT!
