It's another name for Carlins/grey peas, very old fashioned field crop and I found them british grown in a very posh shop near DD2s home but they were only £1.99p for 500g and delicious. I'm getting some more to bring home with me this visit. They also had British Field Beans(Tic/Daffa Beans) so I'll get some of those as well, also british grown and under £2.

OOH MrsLW, I used to love Carlins as a child. One Sunday during Lent used to be Carlin Sunday in this part of the world but I haven't seen them for years. Lucky you. And thank you for the Broad Bean Salad recipe. I do like broad beans.:)

A belated thank you to replies about sewing machine. I thank what I need is one such as you describe fuddle.
I'm in the middle of a small crisis. Took down kitchen curtains this morning - a difficult job as window is over the sink & unit so had to use steps (not good) - and in process the (very old) curtain rail broke. So now I have to buy a new rail and find someone to put it up for me - as well as the money to finance this. :eek:
The day is not going well for me.

sorry to hear this arthricicoldthing I'm emulsioning the back bedroom and this has led to unexpected expense and more work too.
