I need help, I'm in the middle of a broad bean nightmare. I've even resorted to mixed bean chilli in pittas to use them up. We will use every single one up as I grew them myself ;)

Truth be told I'm not really keen on them

    Ideas needed please my lovelies

give some away or barter some?

oh and there are a couple of recipes on able and cole website - one for a broad bean pesto, a soup and even one to use the broad bean pods!
  • PIC I have a recipe that might help

Broad Bean Salad (no don't grroan, it's yummy!)

1 lb of broad beans, podded, cooked and with the outer skins removed so you're left with the inside bright green beany bits.
    1 teaspoon of french mustard
    1 teaspoon of paprika
    1 clove of garlic, crushed
salt and black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon of fresh parsley, chopped
    1 tablespoon of wine vinegar
    3 tablespoons of olive oil

Shucked beans into a bowl, all dressing ingredients into a well sealed jar and shaken until mixed then poured over the beans, given a stir and chilled for an hour.

    It's lovely!!!

MONNAGRAN there's nothing in the least surprising about you and the Rev being appreciated to that extent, you are both people that the world is a better place for having you in it, you're kind, hard working, compassionate, intelligent, selfless and modest ladies who always put others and thier needs before your own, hats of to you both my dears is what I say!!!!! HOORAH for MONNA and the REV!!!!

    Hello all :)

Monogran, what a wonderful celebration you and rev deserve you both do so much especially with the drop centre.

Have had a wonderful weekend, Saturday involved mud monsters look Sunday all day relaxing. Today visited a friend this morning and spent the rest of the day with my dad.

Very proud mummy moment ds1 found out today his science results for GCSE programme. He's starting triple science instead of combined science. So proud of him, he's overcome so much with his dyslexia and noted in top group for biology, chemistry and physics. He's over the moon.

Ds2 battled his fear and for covered, again very proud of him.

So made one of the boys favourite meals of spaghetti and meatballs. Dad came for tea to and was really nice and chilled out watching films. That reminds how to make cookies for teachers.

Fuddle - oh yum diddly tum :)
Possession - mixed feelings eh? She may have needed the money but you also need your house/animals looking after properly. I do hope she is ok though, sounds like people are looking out for her at least. Glad you were able to make other arrangements.

Monna, well deserved praise - people dont have to stand up and speak, they have to want to. You have touched peoples lives when they needed it and that is priceless. You and the Rev both represent what a church community should be - caring and sharing, a rare thing these days.

Well done Kez's children - proud Mummy time

Fuddle my my how far you have come hunny, the old Fuddle would have been a wreck with one of her littlies away because her life was a fine balancing act now you have stability through yours and hubbys sheer hard work and determination - love it!

I have blue pea's, I know you are all jealous :rotfl: I bought them very cheaply and they are fab to look at...note to self....taste them before you brag :D

    Hi,
Well tonight I have wrote my letter to the governor, will send it recorded delivery tomorrow ,should get it on the last day of term ,thought it was the best way to do it ,as although I am carm I don't think I would stay that way if I talked to the head, sad that it has come to this but the blame falls on the head ,I know things move on but this is a school that my grandparents ,father, myself then all 4 of my kids have gone to ,so with a gap of 4 years between my eldest and youngest going there ,I have been involved with my own kids there for the las 21 years ,the last 3 we have had the new head ,now all the good teachers who give a dam are jumping ship , but come Thursday night not my problem ,can hold my head up high , the biggest laugh is I have organized and am in charge of the leavers do ,as again sch have nothing to do with it ,so no silly prom !! No posh frocks or dinner suits for 11 year olds ,no need to hire any big posh car ,they can do all that when they are older, so have hired a bus and they are going bowling with party food ,lots of deals have been done ,and it works out at £9 per child ....kids will leave sch happy and all together , :T

Thank you all for the back up ,problem shared ect ect
Just need dh back soon ,have spoken to him tonight ,first proper convsation in about a week .

Monnagran .. So glad they gave you a send off you both deserve:T:T
