A container to put your iphone or ipad in? Er, isn't that called 'out of reach'? :rotfl: Oh dear.
Enjoy nutty, enjoy!0 -
Better idea than a container for your phone is a container for your baby, I believe they call then play pens!!!0

Yay, well done little Miss Stilty :T
Nuttyp congratulations on the impending nanny hoodlittle ratchet sounds lush.
Hot and muggy here, and I'm feeling frazzled after 4am start today to do usual routine of walking dogs etc before dropping DH to catch train to the smoke for work and at my desk for 6.30 am! DH homeward bound now so have the stay awake to pick him up later. Then another early start tomorrow to drop DD at her friend's house for a lift to the festival. Roll on the weekend.
Lyn bless little Zebra, the everyday toys are the best aren't they? Paper, pans, spoons, cardboard boxes....amazing what amuses the little ones and so much more stimulating for the imagination as they get a little older.0 -
kez I'm sorry to hear about your Dad but glad that you have a diagnosis. Pleased to hear that adult services have been helpful for you as the local ones here were a nightmare last year when I was trying to sort out care for my Mum and I felt like I was banging my head against a wall most of the time.0

Oh dear. I have answered the door to a debt collector  The tenants who lived here before us it seems. I told him I wasn't her but I don't think this is the end of it. Any idea what I can do?0

Hello kez,
good to hear from you. Sorry to hear about your dad though glad the diagnosis is helpful and he is enjoying grandadhood
Little Miss Stilty :j- such a determined spirit - she will make the very best of life. Stilty -you deserve to glow with pride
Fuddle - totally get what you mean with the plastic stuff - DH was far worse than me for buying stuff, the money we wasted. Fine to have some toys and a little bit of "rubbish" maybe but I wish we had spent far less on toys and more on getting the house fixed up. Hindsight and all. On the other hand...think of the good decisions we have made too
Funny day weatherwise here, cold in the morning and muggy and heavy rain this afternoon. I bumped into a friend shopping this morning(using a voucher) and I felt awful sneezing and shivering (think was hayfever) and she insisted on buying me a coffee in the caf!. I did her a favour yesterday with childcare and she wanted to thank me. Sat there in me mac, hands around a big latte and it felt like a wet autumn day with us cozy in a cafe.
Need to make tea for boys, I am eating later with DH and no inspiration. I have cooked chicken to use so maybe a pasta bake or stir fry. My fault for not meal planning past yesterday, need to get my act together.

Oh hell FUDDLE that's the last thing you need. He Who Knows says have some photographic proof that you are YOU and not the previous tenant. Does your Carers identification badge/card have your photo and name on it? if it does that should be proof enough that you are not the other person who lived at the house. Has there been any correspondence for her from the debt collectors? if so what have you done with it and does the letting agent have proof in the form of your signed contract that you are new tenants, could you refer the debt collector to them for confirmation? Hope that helps, Lyn xxx.
Your Driving Licence and also a Passport would be proof of your identity too and if that doesn't satisfy them ring the police because it's harrassment.0 -

We had the same with the people who lived in the house before the previous owners of our current home. We just repeated the same thing each time that we were the new owners since x date and returned all correspondence to the companies without opening and marked envelopes accordingly. Eventually they gave up. Sorry no further advice but someone will be along shortly I'm sure to advise.....0 -
We had the same in our old places too Fuddle, I asked him for an address I could write to for the firm and wrote a letter detailing when we moved in and gave them the letting agents details so they could contact them for forwarding information. They didn't come back and we got a letter thanking us for the information.
Manic afternoon and I've totally lost track of time. Luckily DD2 won't be home for another hour for dinner and DD1 is at work until 10pm so the lack of oven action so far hasn't been an issue. Picked up some YS pizzas when I was at Mr A's this morning so I shall bung one of those in with some garlic flat bread and whip up a quick salad....not quite al a carte but tasty all the same.
Oh and whilst I remember Mr A's had some of their kitchen stuff on sale at silly prices (in my local store at least) I picked up some heavy weight, solid pizza trays that were £5 reduced to £1.50 each (making them 50p cheaper than their value brand which are really flimsy). I can chuck my old value ones out now, I've had them years and years but they need more and more scrubbing each time I use them as all the non stick has long since stuck."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. Thank you everyone. Yes Lyn my carers badge is a photographic one with my name and my signature, good call! Plus if I am in uniform I will have it on me.
Great idea about the letting agent as back up. They were also the agent for the lady in question so they will be able to confirm.
I had a bit of an idea myself. If all else fails I could show them my bankruptcy details. Who is going to have a false bankruptcy order eh?
No, no letters as yet so a bit perturbed and smelling a rat to be honest. Unfortunately experience tells me that the letters come thick and fast before doorstep callers are deployed.
All very strange. Just pleased my door is always locked and my neighbours are aware too. Flaming 'eck :rotfl:0
