Well done PiC - I'm sure DS will love it whatever the cost.

Fuddle - If the cardi is going to be an investment then knit your own - unique and a perfect fit & you know exactly what its made of.

Shegar - DH does the ironing here apart from odds & sods of mine. We dont bother with ironing sheets but he makes a lovely job of the quilt covers & pillowcases & NO I do not hire him out :)

Seriously thinking about it silvasaver. I have found some patterns to crochet cardi's on dr0ps. Wool Wareh0use sell dr0ps at pretty reasonable prices.

That means I have my crochet bed blanket to finish (only 1/3 done!) then I want to knit that chunky blanket for living room evening sitting that I fancy doing, then my own cardi. Should be ready by November/December.

Best get off here and get the girls jam and rice pudding (from a tin) for their supper. I am having sandwich as DH is having a pub meal bought for by the rep who wants his depot to buy kit from them ;)

Going to get the kiddies up the apples and pears, have a bath, slice lemon in the last of my home made elderflower cordial and crochet in peace :)

Nutty - do they know the size of curtains etc they need, I have some kicking around from our old house and they'd be welcome to them if they pay the postage (they're an aubergine colour - long drops - can't remember the size off hand).

Fuddle - I read the reviews for the air ram and then for the one I was willing to pay for and they results were the same - I must admit I'm smitten with it - I gave the downstairs a quick go over whilst the potatoes were on for tea - fab!

I appreciate that might sound like a lot of hoovering to some people but with hard wood floors, 5 cats (2 long haired) 2 long haired daughters (mucky pups that they are), a DH who spills a lot of stuff, a job that involves tiny bits of paper floating around or bits of cotton sticking to everything and a parrot that flaps dust everywhere when she flaps her wings, I need it.

Pooky I have vacuum envy!! I am watching with interest how you get on longer term with it, as I really do need something less bulky.

possession clearly all your appliances are ganging up on you!! As for sat nav and holidays, do you have an android phone? I use google maps as a nav on my phone and far prefer it to OH sat nav. Otherwise you could do a route planner on either google, AA or RAC then print it out so you have a dedicated map to your destination :)

PIC well done on the bike, :)

I think I may have helped my friend get organised which will hopefully give her mum less to moan about. It occurred to me today that there was a relatively cheap way of gaining a bedroom out of unused space, this would mean she could get all the kids stuff into their rooms and make their living area easy to keep clean and tidy. Better still she has spoken to her husband who has agreed its a good idea and is happy to go ahead.

There is also a new gym opening nearby which is slightly cheaper, open longer and includes all classes so I am looking to swap when they open, saving a little money and hopefully increase my chances of success.

Fuddle, I wear cardigans over my uniforms at work. Honestly, the best ones for me so far have been George from WalMart (your Asda). Every so often they have pure cotton ones in assorted colours. They wash up well and keep their shape.

OK. I now have three bin bags stacked with 17 baskets. Yes Pooky, I kept the lot but have just remembered that I have quite a few downstairs. Ah well, That is tomorrows problem. My yarn stash is in a vaccum bag with all the air sucked out, although I think some of the air has sneaked back in again. And I have about 2 sq metres of clear carpet on the floor which so excited me that I had to vacuum it.

My DS came in and exclaimed in horror at the state of the room. I said had he never seen a room like this before. He said he had but it was a landfill site. He enqired what the heap of rubbish in the corner was. My store of useful cardboard boxes, I informed him, to which he made a rude noise. I asked him what he did when he wanted a cardboard box of a certain size. He said that he always asked his Mum for one as she had a stack of really useful cardboard bo...........
    I do love my family.

The Rev has just come in from a meeting so had better go down and see what's what.

Pooky thankyou for the offer of the curtains, we have just got from a facebook selling page 2 pairs at 90 x 90. enough to make cushion covers too. You should list them in there, no selling fees and people come and collect at a time convenient to you.
Kudcat, please don't take on anyone elses problems you have enough on your plate to deal with.
Fuddle I get my cardi from asda, good old George washes well.

Problem is I simply cannot read a map well, my brain is not wired that way. I once took us entirely the wrong way in Italy and we only realised once we'd driven almost out of the country. So I could do AA routeplanner down to Cornwall and back but not around Cornwall for 2 weeks, if I want my marriage to last the 2 weeks. Mind you DH is worried that his boss has called him for a meeting this morning to ask him to cancel his holiday so perhaps I won't be going anyway.

Reading though my general impression is that everyone is OK, Pooky's house has a lot of hair floating about, Monnagran has a room which looks like landfill and Fuddle needs a new cardie so generally all is right with the world which is good!

Fuddle I get mine from Woolovers - pure wool, wool&silk or cotton &silk. I can't wear synthetics.
