When I went to drs yesterday to get this depression sorted I did tell him that people are noticing that my hearing isnt that good, its a bit muffled , and I usually have to hear words said twice to me to get whats been said , he checked me ears good and proper and he says its "age related"....
So he will refer me to the hearing centre, where I would most probaly be given a hearing aid......God sake im only 56 ....wats up with me !!....The big round your ear hole type are NHS free, but if I want a small insert unseen the its in between £500 to £1000.......Phew me ......Any of yous had , got or know someone who use an hearing device......? Or any related stories about hearing .......I suppose that when a lot of us hit the 40 s we have to wear reading glasses , so its really not much different to hearing aids .......I will wait until I get to the hearing centre then go from there .......I hope your all having a good peaceful weekend, take care all...Sheila

Sheila - Oh how I sympathise! I'm sixty. Over the last year or so I find, more and more often, not that I don't hear things, but that I mis-hear them. Sometimes I realise I've mis-heard, simply because what I thought I heard doesn't make sense, but sometimes it does make some sort of sense, so I don't realise I've got it wrong. A while ago I could have sworn the continuity announcer on TV said that night's guest host on Have I Got News For You was Jet Li (Chinese film director of such epics as "The House of Flying Daggers"). I did think it sounded a bit unlikely. It turned out to be Jack Dee.

Fuddle - I remember you saying you didn't think you'd be able to grow any vegetables because you have a North-facing garden. But people encouraged you to give a try. Did you give it a go? If so, how is it going? My garden is North-facing too, and as I have M.E. I'm wary of trying it, in case I end up worn-out to no purpose. We will need to make a raised bed in the area that gets the most sun, I think, so it won't happen until next year..

Afternoon all from a very bright and sunny garden.
It's been lovely here all weekend after having been forecast bad weather.

I have been totally exhausted and feel asleep at 8pm on Friday night sleeping for almost 13 hours which is unheard of. Mad busy yesterday with car issues dance class shopping and birthday party.

Had to shop again today as OH decided he needed stuff for work. Managed to gets lots of meat reduced to a good price which made it worthwhile.

Someone asked about kez and mrs chip earlier, I have spoken to kez this week and she is fine having had a really tough few weeks she finally had things sorted. So I am sure she will be back posting soon. Mrs c seems to be very busy with her new doggy and enjoying taking him places.

How about washing your hands in hot water before you begin to help your client?

Good idea floss, not always practical as I need to undress them first but definitely a tactic. I can't stand driving gloves sq but wearing a pair while I wait is a good idea too. They all seem obvious don't they!

Yes! Ivyleaf. We actually get more sun in the garden than we realised but everything is backed up against the fence that gets sun for the longest. The strawbs have been the best but we have had a very long spell of hot sunny weather. Peapods are winning at the moment but the tomato plant struggles further up the garden and the blueberries are taking a lifetime to turn colour, again further up the garden and the least in the sun. it's worth a go for sure but don't heavily invest I would say. Dabble a bit :)

Buying the best as you can afford sounds good with sheet. My brain is still in cheap mode but I have been working for 8 months and gone through 5 pairs of cheap shoes. Today I invested in a pair of Clarkes (the best I can afford) but didn't pay Clarkes prices - brantano sale ;)

If anyone sees the department stores having sales will you give us a nod on here. I'll budget a bit for sheets in the coming pays to be ready. Thank you :)

Last few hours of the weekend to work. Just filled the travel mug. Back to the grind folks.

We have Debenhams Supima cotton bedding, think its 180 thread count. We bought them with vouchers from our wedding in 2010 and they are showing very little wear.

    Afternoon my lovelies.

I've had problems with posts disappearing as well, when I go back and see why I haven't thanked someone I find I haven't read it at all, so if I don't thank you it doesn't mean I don't like you, honest.

I bought some sheets from Dun elm and they bobbled, not very good quality. I've now taken to looking in the jumbles and bought a good quality fitted one for 30p and it was starchy new IYKWIM

It was supposed to rain all day here as well but it's been lovely and warm.

The airshow is drawing to a close and I've been busy in the garden while watching the planes go by. The Vulcan set of all the car alarms as usual.

One of my fleabay items has shot up to just under £30 and I only paid a £1 and had use of it myself, I love it when that happens.

I must get down the lottie but I'll have to wait until the traffic calms down, the kids have shot out so they must have got wise to my selling ice lollies plan :rotfl:

    Morning all

Not sure what the weather will do today - it's rained over night and not quite made up it's mind what it's doing yet.

DD's and BF's are off to London today to the zoo (thanks to Mr T vouchers) they'll have to battle through the "Tour" stuff - but they'll cope. I do like that I don't need to go with them to do these things now - whilst I like a day out it's nice to know that both girls are confident enough to get round London on their own.

I shall be having a sort through the loft for some bootfair stuff (doing one later in the summer) and trying to make sense of my fabric stash.....I could be gone a while.

Just DH and I for dinner so something simple and from the store cupboard (which also needs sorting).

Hope you all have a great day.
