Hooray! Congratulations! Burtha!
Nutty Thanks for the reminder. I'll be popping out shortly to collect one.
Stilty I hope things have calmed down a bit and that you have a bit of time to settle in!
Right, need to pop some washing in before I start work. Its supposed to rain all weekend so I'm trying to get ahead before then, its always so much fresher dried outside!0 -

Congratulations Burtha and all the family!
Kidcat good luck with the Ofsted grilling.
And congratulations on the new place Stilty.
Sad times here as we've been having so many troubles with one of our rescue dogs who keeps going for my son (and any visitors but obviously my son is the main problem). She has been to 2 behaviourists and on a residential training course and it has improved her reactiveness with dogs but hasn't stopped the unpredictable aggression at home sometimes. So very reluctantly we've decided it will be better for all of us if she goes back to her foster carer, as we think it's stressing her out to be in a family home. She needs a quiet home with no visiting children. But it's really sad and I feel really guilty.0 -
For anyone unsure about the aldi voucher, there is some for bread at half price, ideal for the freezer. Fish half price, gronala (yuck) fruit juice drink stuff, malt loaf, cream cakes...... hmmmm think that's all I can remember.

possession, hugggsssss........ you have done the most responsible thing possible. If your doggy isn't happy then they do sometimes snap, maybe he needs the peace n quiet in his old life. Im sure he will be a nice foster carer and he will be well looked after and can end his days in peace and tranquillity. You've nothing to appologies for, if anything you've taken a really hard decision. Please look after yourself. x

Burtha, can I stop pushing now :rotfl: congratulations to you and your family. Thats a good weight but I bet Mummy is tired now my goodness!
Possession, you have done everything possible to help the dog now you need to do whats best for everyone, especially the dog who must be running on adrenalin. its better to send her back now than when someone gets hurt. You can all relax now.
Nuttyp, so glad the new job is going well and you are being rewarded for all that hard work.
Stilty so happy for you having a home that will make life easier for you all, wishing you much contentment there. Love the mental image of your little girl charming everyone at the hospital
Another quiet day in ginny world, hubby been in bed for 2 days but did surface for an hour last night and we went for a drive. Must go and make lasagnes in a mo - ooh the excitementClearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -
Afternoon all,
Possession, I have to agree with Nutty and Ginny--it is far more responsible for the dog to be removed from a home where it isn't suited before anything happens--better for the dog, better for your family and better for the reputation of dogs in general (who I fear get a bad rap these days). You took active steps to help the dog settle and are sending him to a foster home--that is the height of responsibility.
Ginny enjoy the lasagne--you never know each new layer might hold a thrill!
Work moving slowly today. I'm trying to read an ebook for work and I find them so much harder to focus on. Was just interrupted a bit ago by a door knocker. I'm normally cautious about answering during the day--disrupts work and all but I've wound myself up that an important piece of news will be coming by private courier in the next few weeks so I'm darting down for every knock.
Anyway, a nicely dressed, well spoken young man enquired about measuring our loft insulation. I just said I was sorry but I couldn't let him in. (I don't care what sort of badge you flash, I'm not letting you inside my house when I'm home alone for no good reason!) He asked if I was the householder, I said no (we rent) and we said he wasn't allowed in anyway. That was the end of it and then remembered that OH answered to one with the same story just a few days ago. We often get chancers around here---although they're usually taking advantage of the alley gates being yet AGAIN left unlocked by the neighbours and trawling through peering over garden walls. It just makes me wonder if he was really sent out to find out if the house was empty or if we had anything flash in view of windows and doors. We don't have anything flash anyway, unless you count a sewing machine and the cake I baked two days ago!0 -
Cake lasts two days in your house??? I'm lucky if it gets to cool down round here before DH is tucking into it.
Took DS to his favourite place this morning - the play zone place (which is now in short walking distance!) for the first time in a few weeks as not had chance during the move. He was up the top and heading for the slide before I had my change from paying him in! so guessing he was pleased to be there. When we walked home he was loving it right up until we got back and tried to take him in the house, so asked him if he wanted to stay out and got a yes! so walked into town to change my library books with him. Think I'm going to like this being able to walk to places business.
Quick cup of tea before I go and pick DD up from school which sadly is not walking distance anymore - well it is but not while pushing the chair.
Catch you all later - X0 -
Burtha congratulations - good things come to those who wait....and now the fun begins! One life - your life - live it!0
