Hi all, re stiches after birth, I was told by an old school midwife to sit in a luke warm bath with a small amount of Dettol, it stinks but it helps the area stay clean and heal quicker.

Had just a half day at work today, raining like mad but still the shop was busy - where do they find the money from to play the gaming machines??

DD and her fianc! are coming over for tea tonight, she has found out from the financial advisor they need double the amount originally quoted for the deposit on the house - mum has offered to lend additional funds. Why cant these banks make an offer and stick to it, moving the goal posts around so much is annoying no wonder young people struggle to move into their own homes.

I have a spare aldi voucher if anyone needs it. it was wombled from a customers paper!!

    take care x

Ooh yes, I remember being told that about 26 years ago after DS2 had to be "helped" out and I was stitched back together by an apprentice Dr who didn't leave it long enough for any anaesthetic to work before he began his needlework  Needless to say, after I had strong words with him the next time he had to do that he will have left the lady at least 15 minutes longer!!

Am about to go & make tea - this weekend we will be mainly eating spinach, raspberries, rhubarb & salad leaves, with a sprinkling of blackcurrants and the last of the strawberries. Potatoes are still flowering (late in :o) so not ready quite yet, french beans aren't flowering yet and we've only got a few mange-tout ready for picking at present. Goosegogs were jammed last weekend, along with 5kg of strawbs and some rhubarb was jellied with the frozen seville oranges that had been zested in February to make orange limoncello, to make a really delicious delicate jelly for crumpets & scones :D Luckily we've eaten nearly all the french beans and about 2/3 of the spinach & chard from the freezer, as I will need the space soon. Just need to acquire some jars to make blackberry jam with the 2 large bags from last year that are lurking in the freezer!

Weather is proper miserable on the Lancashire coast , cold & damp & drizzly - just seen 2 of the landaus from the Promenade trot past full of shivery girls going to a prom - well I think they were girls, the hoods were up on the carriages and all I could see was brightly coloured "froth"!!

Must go as puddy cat is sitting gazing at me wanting her tea and DH is shouting me for our TFIF drinkies - which signals that the weekend has begun :D

Oh don't  I tore from front to back with eldest, through my sphincter muscles and all. I was put under general for that repair (hence youngest was elective C-section!) my advice, but it is expensive, is to bathe in Badedas bubble bath. It's meant to have healing properties as well as boost circulation for healing... apparently. I don't remember if it helped as I was given iron tablets because I was anaemic (due to blood loss) which bunged me up - cue panic because of my stitches. I was in a pickle. Can laugh now :eek:

I was told to bathe in salt water - it did the trick and healed quickly....all those years ago!

For anyone that wants a nosey I've just put a pic of my eldest in her gorgeous dress on my FB business page - hover over my name on the left of the page and you should get an option to view my homepage - it's there (my personal FB settings won't let me share it with you all).

It's been lovely having the boys here to fuss over too - it's nice to see them all dressed up and looking so lovely.

It is not just knitting patters there are all sorts of crafts anything you can think of.

When we were packing and I was sorting out books to get rid of my son said "you don't need books mum you only need novels to read, anything else you can look it up on the internet." I was asking if he wanted me to keep a DIY book for him. He is right you can get everything for free even the novels if you have a Kindle.

With 627 pages I think I may take until Christmas to read the thread. I have done 59 pages.

    Hello Nurse Maggie

Nutty Thanks for the reminder I got two papers to stock up for the month, I'll shop next week when things are back in stock and a little less manic.

No stitches here does that mean I'm bucket like:o :rotfl:

SQ you just need to rest five minutes and stop beating yourself up.

FP It's never boring near you is it?

Had a downpour this afternoon which is good as the lottie needed it but the weeds will be up to my elbows by tomorrow tea time.

    Have a good weekend everyone

Finished the magazine. where are my dancing, cheering smilies?

Now I can packing up all my bits and pieces.....just in case.

Ooo-er! I hate this talk of stitches. I can tell you peeps, adoption is quicker and less painful... well, physically anyway. I went up to London with an empty carricot and within the hour was on my way back with an occupied one. The mental adjustment took a bit longer.

The Birdman Competition is on again. I will be there! Latest I've heard is that DS2 was flatly refusing to wear white tights. I can't wait.

    Enjoy the weekend everyone.
