Morning all
yesterday was our wedding anniversary, glorious sunshine just like our wedding day! DH of course had his head buried in accounting books and then later his eyes fixed to the screen watching footie. Took boys into town as needed to get their hair cut, get feet measured, buy them sunnies etc - all stuff for them of course and we had lunch at their favourite little caf!. Needed to give DH some quiet space so killed 2 birds...
Spent rest of day doing dishes, laundry, making dinner etc so not exactly a day of romance! DH also was a bit of a plonker but he (fortunately for him
) eventually realised and apologised and we watched a late film together.
off to hang washing etc then back later for a read and a coffee
hope everyone has a good day

Morning all, had a nice day off for part of the day yesterday. But was rudely interrupted by a work phone call. due to another shop being under staff I got asked to go in, and after a bit of wrangling for extra money to go in they agreeded. Went in to total chaos, had been really busy and they shop and counter area was a tip.
Well this morning ive just chilled out, got dressed and prepared a sunday lunch. Washing machine load number 2 Is on and another 2 to go. How come I have so much washing all the time?? there are only 3 of us.

Ok, I have a fly problem. As i keep the chooks at home in the garden, rather than at the allotment where people break in and kill thempI have got a bit of a fly problem.
I clean the cages out every day and we scoop up what poo we can but to no avail. I've just ordered a red top fly catcher as someone advised me to, I hate spending money but it has to be done.
Has anyone got any OS tips?

I hang lavender round the windows to put the flies off coming into the house. Apparently they're also not keen on basil, bay, mint, tansy, wormwood or rue, so maybe growing lots and lots of those will help!
If you want to stop them coming in then it might be worth investing in flyscreens (I'm considering this as I have streams in the garden, so lots of midges etc).0 -
Just realised I'd already told you about the burglary when I told you again, d'oh!

Insurance not paying up as I was in the house and door was unlocked.
It's all getting sorted, DS organising new phone for me. I will get another laptop, and this one won't disconnect from the net at random, hopefully! Oh McCulloch, sorry about the insurance.
We do often leave the door unlocked as the children are coming in and out so might need a rethink on that. 0 -

Does it say that in the policy? or is it in very, very, fine print?
I would be on the companies FB/twitter accounts and telling the world just how helpful they are. Of course you shouldn't have to lock the door if your in the house, that's outrageous. Slimey scumbuckets............ rant over
