    Evening everybody

FPK, Hugs to you. Sadly you start to notice real friends. I have lost many because everything is about them attitudes.

I HATE THIS HEAT. It drains me and makes me feel ill. I suffer with headaches when ever the yellow round thing appears.
Talking about health, It seems i need to loose a lot more weight then first assumed. Mainly for fertility treatments.

I have been looking at weight watchers and slimming world. But both seem a waste of money. But having a real limited understanding of foods, grams, calories, ect i am deciding that £13 a month cant be bad?

I have managed to save over £100 in a month just not smoking. So we can spare that amount, My biggest worry is that once you stop using the service you pile the weight back on!!

Then it means i need to start exercising, I have no issue in stating that i have been lazy (side effect from my depression) But also having the fear of the outdoors makes it near impossible to just join a gym.

On the OS front, I managed to get most of our decorating stuff for under £20. That means for the rest of the house we have a budget of £50. All we need out of that is silk magnolia & gloss paint. The rest is odds and ends like cleaners ect.

Hugs to all that would want one xx

PX87 - if you can't manage getting out to the gym will you be able to manage WW or SW? If you cant there are some really good apps for weight watching and for exercise too, maybe you could start there and see how you get on for two weeks?

PX87, you could try getting one of those digital scales that work out the weight and the calories of whatever it is you are measuring. It's a real eye opener! Who knew that a 30g serving of cereal is sooo small!! Also, I like milky tea and after a day of measuring accurately I was surprised at how many calories were in my cups of tea and how it mounted up.

With SW or WW it all seems to boil down to portion control. And budgeting. Us MSEers know all about that and budgeting for calories isn't that different.
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

    PX,

What about an exercise DVD to start? You can usually find them relatively cheaply on places like @mazon. You might also try one of the calorie tracking websites like sparkpeople. I think that one is American, pretty sure there is a British version. After inputting things yourself for a bit you might find it a bit easier. It will also work out how many calories you need a day, factor in fitness and help you track nutrition.

Even more MS...there are tons of exercise videos on Youtube and there are several bloggers who do them. I've done a few of these before when I couldn't make it to the gym although some of them..are..um..a little weird;)

I know......... when I weighed my porridge I looked like this  :rotfl:

Someone once said to me "Do you really want to pay all that money for a weigh in and a clap" and it's true, you do all the work yourself so why pay to weigh?

Could you not put the funds you would be paying in a pot and buy a wii or even better borrow one ? a lot more fun. Then when your up and running get some DVDs make sure they're not dodgy free ones :A

    Evening all,

Well the weather here was beautiful this morning and then late this afternoon had a tremendous thunderstorm, but all is calm now

CORNISH CHICK have been thinking about you today, hope you are doing OK.

SHEGAR I have missed your posts, I hope all is well. How is your sister coping with her treatment and is DH settled in the nursing home?

I don't post often but I do try to read each day and to keep up with all your news.

We are off to Norfolk in a couple of weeks so really looking forward to that and hopefully the sun will shine. We try to go at least once a year because we find it so relaxing and it is only two and a half hours drive from here so not tiring.

    Much love

PX87 our doctors can offer a free wellbeing course which includes food and exercise, if they are recommending weight loss. That may be worth checking as well :)
  • Evening everyone, I've just got back on the coach from London and the Viking Exhibition was amazing, it was artefacts from many different museums and countries put together as one huge showcase and had the largest Longship remains I've ever seen. She was manned by 30 pairs of oarsmen, a wonderful thing to have seen. It was very hot and humid in the city and it's lovely to be home where it's so much cooler and have a nice cuppa or two and relax. The other wonderful thing I saw today was one on my tick list of things to DO BEFORE I DIE and in another part of the British Museum was a display of Anglo Saxon artefacts and in amongst them was the original Sutton Hoo Helmet and the silvered reproduction they have made of it. It's an amazing thing, happy me!!!

Thank you so much for all your support and sensible advice re my Stepmother, she rang home today and talked to He Who Knows and has decided to visit her elderly sister instead. It might arise as a problem next year but I've taken your advice and I will make it clear that she isn't going to just arrive on us and that we are too busy to have guests. MONNA love the suggestion of moving to a cottage but He Who Knows wouldn't fit, he's 6ft 4 tall, I could forsee many bumped heads if we did!!!

Hugs to all those of you with troubled thoughts over friendships going awry, I'm a great believer in letting things lie and not making the first move to heal rifts too soon, it gives the absent friend lots of reflection time to consider if putting the blame on you is actually fair. If they're true friends, they'll see that you are too and make a conciliatory gesture and mend bridges. If they aren't then you are better off without thier baggage and ire in your lives.

PIC driveways wars eh? is that like starwars with Daft Ada instead of darth vader??? She sounds like a very discontented woman petal, I wonder how many times she's been in the same position with other people? some people are just fractious and caustic by nature and it doesn't have to be anyones fault for them to kick off over percieved misdemeanours. As you say petal, HEAD HIGH, smile a lot and just don't play, with a bit of luck she'll get so cross at not getting any reaction to her venom that she'll move!! Chin up, Lyn xxx.
