SDG hope you are feeling a little better today

Ginny ouch poor DH, hope you have both had a more settled day :)

Mrs LW enjoy your zebra :)

Monna - ooh you have to share those pics :)

Pooky - send him here I have a drive he can sit on all day of he fancies it :)

Nutty - oh dear, OHs can be very insensitive souls. ((hugs))

I have been mad busy on what I had thought would be a quieter day, I arrived to drop DS10 at school to discover I had to speak to his teacher about his IEP at 2,30 and that there was a meeting about his residential at 2,45. It made things rather rushed!
Have finally managed to sort DD19 student finance for the last year and she will be paid shortly!! and we have even managed to get the next years ready for processing too! This has been a saga caused mainly by OH swapping jobs at a crucial time.

Nutty And where exactly are you going to fit the gym in? While your asleep? :p

I think if you go to the gym/exercise you have to be careful not to eat a lot because you have exercised as you usually eat more than you have burnt off so it defeats the object.

When I first got my pedometer I walked my @ss off and when I looked how many calories I'd burnt it was just over a two finger kitkat, not really worth it .......

I'm in the same boat and have dropped half a stone by cutting out BJs...........the ice cream you mucky lot ;)

  • Change of plans today as DD had got the day booked already and didn't realise until last night so we'll go to see Zebra next week and today I'll pop into the city and go to Ikea.

PIC, I panicked when I read that, I wondered how many calories there were in that, but at least with icecream it's written on the tub.
I did an alteration for someone last night so a few more pennies in the pot & I got a dog sitting request, roll on lots more of both.

Morning all, PIC that made me snigger too, had to re read it!!!! I am trying a little bit more, but time is very short. I spoke to DD yesterday and she said I look like I always have - bless her - she said my meds wont help and it is one of the side effects. So if you have anxiety and depression take these tablets and you might put on weight - helpful, not!!! Well I am what I am, I am me. So I bought some new shorts before with a little elastic in the side - they fit great and I feel great in them, so phah!!!!!

I am on a weeks break from work, and today I have to attend a meeting - we have some shop closures going on, not where I am, so that will be discussed and also the world cup. So lots of info and promotions going on.

OK must load up the car and get going, have to drive to Leicester. Not a drive I enjoy. take care all x

    Morning all,

Nutty that sounds like a frustrating conversation to say the least. You do so much that I'm constantly in awe. I'm pleased you've found some new shorts and have moved on.

The friend saga has continued and I still feel anxious about it. Her most recent accusations are even nastier--in fact a bit petty and very gossipy. I've just sent her an email saying I appreciate her concern but that it isn't a fruitful conversation and I won't continue it. I've told her we can drop it and move on as friends or we can take a break and that I'll leave it up to her and respect her decision. Honestly I think the relationship is poisonous at this point, but I see no reason to create more and more drama. For two women in our 30s I honestly thought we'd be beyond this sort of thing by now. Even if she does choose to stay friends I've a mind to gently let things taper off. Unfortunately we both work and socialise together, but that will probably change in the next year anyway and she will probably move away so it will have a natural ending.

Clothes on the line--hoping the rain holds off until noon.
  • FPK I think it's a wise decision on your part to call a halt to hostilities, it's good sense to not say what can't be unsaid once it's spoken and it's easy to say in haste and regret for a long, long time. You are right to put the ball firmly in her court and draw a line under this episode of unpleasantness. If she truly values you she'll take a little step back, have a think and maybe see things in a different light, if she is fabricating these things she's saying as a means to end the aquaintance you've given her the space to do so. You are worth better girlie and don't deserve to be put on the back foot for no reason, so onwards and upwards, head high, chin up and look the world in the eye and smile while you're doing it, you're OK, Lyn xxx.

Lynn such wise words for FPK. Friends come and go over time, some stay forever and they are always the true ones. I have few 'true' friends, but I know lots of people. The meeting went well, we have certain targets for world cup, but the shop I am in is looking very good compared to others on the list. My shop team are brilliant!! I fully enjoy working with them. There are prizes to be won, so I hope we can all be motivated enough to win something.

Just been to Mr M for a few bits, there were some great offers but not enough to warrant shopping there all the time. On the way home we called at a house that sells fresh strawberries and other fresh veg from their allotment. They are retired and just do it to keep busy and chat to people.

Nice and sunny outside so have to peg the last bits of washing. Tomorrow im takeing mum to a garden centre and to have a coffee. Then when I get home I need to start sanding the desk in DD room. Its an orange pine colour, but all the rest has been stained dark oak/ walnut and we added clear glass handles for 80p each from landofbay. Its made it all look like new furniture but at the cost of woodstain £2.99 and handles - bargain!!

Yes, I feel like a weight has been lifted already.

Another friend has offered to help me with some computer troubles, which is also a relief as it means we won't have to pay out to find out if it can be repaired or needs replacing. We may still have to replace, but at least we'll know what we're dealing with. Will make him and his girlfriend a nice dinner in thanks, and perhaps some cookies or a cake to take home.
