I'm the same Pooky about moving and sorting clutter. Well I would be if I had any energy at all, I seem to have woolly floppy arms and legs these days.
I've heard bad things about CBT for ME sufferers and when I got offered it I said no.

    Afternoon folks,

Great to hear about all the help and support available for the stilty juniors re independent living.

(((((pic AND YOUR dd))))) a stressful day for you both, hope the results come in soon.

Big appointment for your DH Pooky, shame the doc didn't let him know in advance what would be discussed. Hopefully will be positive in the longer term though.

Spent the morning with a friend who used to spend her Tuesdays visiting her mum who passed away a couple of months back. She has been keeping very busy but had nothing planned today so I filled her time - 3 cups of tea later.... I am getting very little done as me back is still giving me gip, think I overdid it yesterday so 2 steps forward and 1 back. Forcing myself to have an easy day today as have stuff on Thurs and Fri that I don't want to miss.

Have discovered the mystery cause of the slime trails on DH's workbag the other day after fruitless searching. Came down in the night for a glass od water, turned on the kitchen light and a massive slug was ambling across the kitchen floor.... EEEEUUUUGGGGHHHHH:eek: . I detest slugs but couldn't really wake up DH to remove so a kitchen towel blanket for slugsy and out the front.

Had more to say but have forgotten it even before I have finished typing, blame it on the potent cocktail of painkillers, ADs and hayfever tablets. Probably only more rambling so better to have forgotten it I guess :D

  • I went into town on the bus this morning for a few bits and pieces and found a charity shop selling 4 x items of childrens clothing for 99p not each but for the 4!!! I got the Zebra child four little pairs of Next trousers, grey, fawn, denim and a soft mustardy yellow and I found a book on smallholding cheesemaking for 99p too so I'm pleased with my haul. I then went into T K Maximus and found DD a country living knitting book of 25 patterns for socks, she'll love it and a set of biscuit cutters 2 cats heads and 2 different sized mice which I hope is going to cheer her up after the problems she's been having with the baby. Good shopping day but town was full of moaning people as was the bus both ways, it's a relief to be back in the village and have some peace and quiet, Lyn xxx.

SQ - We often get slugs in the house as they come in on fluffy kittens fur - she's oblivious and I get to clear them up - blugh. I woke up to one on the duvet looking at me once - that wasn't pleasant, although to be fair I probably scared it by jumping out of bed naked and screaming at it.

Mar - He's had CBT before, 2 years worth of intensive stuff traipsing back and forth to london each time. It did help him and he's kept up a lot of the processes, I'm just not sure what else there is in that line that could help. Our neighbour is trained in CBT so I might have a word with her and see what she can come up with.
He's seen 8 different physio bods in the past 5 years, all have done what they can but as it's a "signal" issue that makes him fall over they can't do much to help. Ah well.....onwards and upwards.

DD2s exam went well this morning, she's come home in a good mood, cleaned her room (shock horror) and is now settled in bed, in her jimjams sorting her jewellery box - bless her - these exams really are taking so much out of her. 5 to go!

I made a quiche yesterday so that's this evenings meal sorted, a dollop of cheesy mash and some salad to accompany it and a large glass of white for me :)

Good evening - thank you for the welcome Monnogran. Whilst I am an adequate cook and a reasonable knitter, I don't think I will add a great deal of inspiration on either of these skills. However, nearer to Christmas (eek) I will happily impress you all with my knitted Christmas Pudding covers for Ferrero Rocher .... Well that's something to look forward to eh?!!!

I don't eat those gold wrapped chocs - but they sound fun :D

Hmm do you do something similar for Easter?
    Must use my stash up!
  • Inspirational 2BLACKCATS they sound such fun, we'll look forward to seeing the pictures and I guess you don't need to just use the Ferrero inside but they could go on truffles etc as long as they were the right size. It's a lovely idea to add in to a christmas stocking or be part of the christmas day table display. I guess they'd look super hung up as tree decorations too, clever you!!!

    Morning all,

One very small OS victory yesterday. I had the oven on to cook fish parcels and roasted some potatoes for tea last night. Also added in red peppers that I need for a roasted red pepper soup later this week and a batch of cookies to put in OH's hollow toes! Every shelf was full to bursting and the cookies just finished off while we ate. I've been a bit lax with oven use lately, turning it on for just one thing. However, when we did the budget this weekend I noticed that this time last year we were paying substantially less for our energy usage. Granted prices have risen and the boiler in this house is a few years older, and we're a bit better off and decided we could afford a bit of leeway every now and then but we were on prepay meters in that house! Not to mention last spring was just an extension of January! I've decided to put it back on the top of my priorities for a month and see if I can get it back down.

Twoblackcats, the FR covers sound adorable!

SQ I often see slug trails around the edges in our lounge. If I could find the entrance I'd block it up but no such luck. Fortunately the puss is only allowed in that room supervised (it seems to be her troublemaking scene of choice with plants to eat, a door she likes to get stuck on top of and plenty of furniture to scratch). If she learns to mind her manners a bit better than I certainly hope she doesn't decide to start 'hunting' as Pooky's fluffy kitten does!

Sounds fab! 2bc I can't knit but I would be willing to donate to charity for a set x

Prada Hills has been kept rudely awaken by some noisy chooks. Yesterday we went to get three more chooks to add to the two we already have, well what a commotion!

The introductions went well, for a good hour or so then one of the farmhouse girls got a right strop on and carried on squarking past 8.30 last night.

Oh the neighbours are going to love me :p I have explained the situation to them and they are fine but I haven't been to "you know who" at the end as she has it in for us as it is, it will keep her in something to say for weeks to come I'm sure!

The newbies slept in emergency cat quarters last night, as the new residence is being built by a local retired gent who due to back orders can't get ours done for three weeks. He is charging £70 and we couldn't even buy the wood for that.

This morning they have all been in the garden together with no fighting but old gobby is at it again.

This is my first time mixing chooks can you tell? lol I even videoed their first encounter on my phone, call the men in white coats someone please :D

It's pouring down here already and it feels like a baking day today but I'm sure something will pop up to scupper my plans such as DS asking last minute to be dropped off at school for a last minute revision session................
