Ginny glad all went well, and that you got a nice picnic as well
DGS is clearly making huge progress, he is a lucky boy.
Pooky - time alone in the house, wow its ages since I had thatAs for schools, the pressure they pile on is a disgrace, and my cynical side says it relates more to their stats than the kids.
Mar - I usually bung a banana, handful if strawbs or rasps type fruit, cup of milk and a fair amount of honey in the blender, sometimes if I am feeling adventurous I will add ice cream.
SQ - well done on the shopping, I gave up using !celand many years ago as I found the quality was poor in comparison to Ald! etc and the prices were not any cheaper.
once kids are all delivered to school tomorrow I am heading to the gym, OH has gone off to work at 12.30 today, he has received no work order for tomorrow, which implies they don't think he will be back before mid morning tomorrow and therefore they can't send him out again. If thats the case we face the very real possibility he may not be home until 12 tomorrow - 24hrs in work!
Rather surprisingly I am full of energy and bouncing tonight, having only had three hours sleep last night I am waiting to drop
Was really touched today when DS16 finished his afternoon tutor session, we picked him up with flowers and card for the tutor, her subject is tested tomorrow so it was her last session with him today. She has really worked hard with him and given him much more confidence. He came out with a box of chocolates and good luck card, she stopped to thank me as she left and reminded him he was really bright and just because he has gaps in his knowledge he can still achieve.0 -
SQ - the land of ice isn't on my list of usual places to visit - I think Fa rm-f00ds are better priced for us for what we buy (mainly frozen veg which is currently 3 bags for £2). It was convenient for today and I saw the offer of free delivery for online orders so had a good look but there really isn't enough to tempt me.
Kidkat - I'm with you on the stats - DD has been told to attend 3 revision sessions next week and will be given a £15 voucher for doing so....she'd attend anyway and I think it's disgraceful that schools need to incentiveise the kids this way.
I had a call earlier from a friend who put me in a really tricky situation a few days ago - I handled the situation as best I could but wasn't happy about it but she phoned today to deliberately try and make me feel guilty about it. I was spitting feathers when I put the phone down. I'm torn between phoning her back and telling her just how uncomfortable she's made me and just leaving it and giving her a wide berth. I try my best to be a good friend but really don't need this hassle. Grrrrrr....online friends are best - they send hugs!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
So we do Pooky - so have another raft of cyber hugs to make you feel betterMust use my stash up!0

Thank you all for your warm welcome, I felt very privileged that the on-line names I have followed for such a long time were "talking" to me! My children are grown up now but I remember well the pressures of exams from SATS through to A levels, mind you sometimes I think I felt the pressure more than my eldest. In 6th form she always assured me that she could revise with the radio and/or the TV on with mobile phone never more than 2 inches from her hand. She did alright so maybe she was right! So best wishes to all those homes where exams are underway.0

Pooky more hugs from me. And if this person has upset you maybe you need to say something. In the past I would have not said a word but recently I have discovered that often comes back to bite me later.
Have done school bags, packed lunches, emptied and reloaded dw, Tidied kitchen and dining room, taken dd8 swimming, walked the dog, prepped uniforms and done dinner. All animals fed and watered, kids ready for bed and all is calm. Usually when OH is here its pandemonium and half of that still wouldn't be done. I am definitely in fast gear today.0 -

Does anybody have a recipe for a very simple beginner-level smoothie? I need to do something desperate to get my energy back.
I chuck a banana, a few good dollops of plain yougurt , a glass of OJ and some fruit (strawbs or blueberries) into the blender for everyday smoothies. For a grown-up smoothie, put in vanilla ice-cream, a couple of glugs of rum or brandy, 2 ripe bananas and some honey and blitz - scrummy as a nightcap2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
