Could be muscular kidcat - I get pain that feels like horrendous toothache when I'm stressed. Massage (if you can find someone prepared to work on your neck/head/jaw) helps, but generally I have to deal with the stress as well.
Thanks greenbee that does fit. I think I may even have been grinding my teeth which is why it's worse at night.0 -
Back from the hospital with hubby. All went well except when we got there a sign said I couldnt wait with him and he went green. I spent 2 hours sat in the car park with my breakfast picnic - couldnt really eat it in the cafe:rotfl:Its funny how nice food tastes when you are sat outside in the sunshine. He had 4 pain killing injections next to his spine all in a pretty line!
Am off into the garden now he is safely in bed. I may well finish my picnic out there for lunch.
Hope everyone did ok first day back at school. Dgs was a tad over excited when I was talking to Dd on the phone earlier but he was celebrating sleeping nappy free for the first time - his decision too.
Kidcat, hope the pain eases soon xxClearing the junk to travel light

Glad the hospital went well Ginny - I always take my crochet and enjoy the quiet time. DH is off to his big consultant in London tomorrow, I don't get to go as he's collected and brought home via hospital transport, they need the extra room in the car/ambulance for other patients. Both DD's will be at school/college too - I will get a few hours alone in the house - I can't remember the last time that happened.
Had a wander along a local towns little high street to visit the CS's this morning, picked up a few bargains and popped into the land of ice for a few grocery bits that will see me through for a few days.
Need to crack on with some work, make some chicken pies for tea and some quiche for tomorrow whilst the oven is on."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Most people would be bored sitting in a car park like I did but to me it was blissClearing the junk to travel light

Welcome monna - glad the holiday was great, sorry you had to get back into the swing of things so quickly with the drop-in leccy - is it working now?
((((((((((((kidcat))))))))))) hope your jaw feels better, sounds like your day was ultra stressful. Can you afford the time/money for a massage or even a swim at the pool(with DS16 or is that a completely silly idea) or similar sometime soon? I guess a session at the gym would help as well when you are able to go. You really have to take of yourself ya know love.
Glad the hospital visit went well ginny and good luck for your DH tomorrow Pooky and yay to your quiet time, enjoy it. Hope DD exam went and all the other students are doing ok with revision/anxiety & associated issues.
My back is easing off a bit. I managed some A-l-d-i shopping today with minimal help from a friend already going and asked the cashier to slow down which he did - poor your lad had the most awful hayfever and looked like he needed to go home to bed, he really brought out the mothering side of me.
We did get out of the house and to school on time. DS10 had an apple from his lunch on the way and I pay for a milk carton to have at morning break. He did apologise after school and I have said any more repeats of that must mean he needs more sleep and so will warrant early nights (which he hates.) Gotta be cruel to be kind sometimes.
Popped into a friends for a quick cuppa before school run and she was saying how she needs to be even more careful with her shopping and money. Her attitude has changed so much the last couple of years since they lost their home. I introduced her to A-l-d-I etc and cooking from scratch, baking etc and she is flying along, giving me the odd tip now. Still haven't persuaded her to take charity shops but give me time! I don't have to keep up with the joneses with any of my friends any more from either side.
One of the few supermarches I haven't tried is the Frozenwaterland as it involves paying for parking and I have several other places to shop in with free parking (very lucky like that) Now I notice said shop is offering free online shopping so I might give them a whirl.... worth it do you think?.... any stuff to get or advoid? I am running down Mr Chesty again and will need to restock at some point.
Looks like rain so off to get washing in and do a cheat's dinner, shop bought bits as didn't trust my back and can't dig down the half empty chest freezer. Normal hotel service to resume shortly ha ha!

Talking of "quiet time" I used to love just sitting in the launderette. No kids/fella just the warm, clean smell and gentle humming sounds which would sing you to sleep if you wasn't careful ........ oh them were the days.

Does anybody have a recipe for a very simple beginner-level smoothie? I need to do something desperate to get my energy back.0
-
Hi Mar!
Not sure what kind of smoothie you had in mind, but I sometimes make this one: about a mugful of milk, a banana, a raw egg, teaspoon of raw brown sugar or honey, teaspoon of vanilla essence. Filling and nourishing .... do hope you feel perkier soon. xx0 -
Mar - I've found the shops own version of ber occa very good for energy levels. You need to check them against the real ones to make sure you're getting the right amount of daily stuff. I really notice if I miss a few days. (as da do a tablet version as I can't do the fizzy tablet one)
DD2 came in from her exam and went straight to bed. She's really stressed bless her. We're not forceful with her revision, she can only do her best but the school are really laying into them."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
