Cc can you ask one of the family to be responsible for beginning a telephone tree system. As in they wait for you to call them they pass it on to two more who in turn have a list of two more to call type thing. Means everyone gets the info and feels useful and more importantly you only have to deal with one person.
  • Twenty years ago when my Dad was very ill I bought Mum an answer 'phone because she didn't always want to speak to anyone, but hardly anybody would leave a message. We adopted a similar system to that Kidcat mentioned and it worked well.

CC I hope DH is comfy and that the pain is now controlled. At least now he is home again you can spoil him.

    Love to you both

Oh boy am so tired tonight, its been a long non productive day. Met OH at Mr T for an eye test, but appointments were running an hour behind, and having been messed about for half an hour before that, I simply couldnt leave DD19 with the kids any longer so we had to leave.

My bright spot is the cleaner arriving tomorrow for the big clean :)
OOh and I get to visit baby kitty tomorrow night - she will be three weeks old tomorrow, so still 10 weeks until we collect her. Two and a half weeks until we get our boy kitty.

Cc so glad to hear hubby back home. Now is the time for the both of you to try and enjoy and adjust to a new stage in your lives. Take each day as it comes and above all take time for yourself and enjoy your time together. Make every moment count, from something as simple as sitting together, watching your favourite show to enjoying simple pleasures such as being watching the sun set.
Anything we can do just shout!

Mono you will have made that womans day just taken the time to listen.
    Wish lived closer to you.

I don't know when mine will turn up, all the cats she has just now are pairs, and I don't want two. But I can wait for the right one!
  • I've tried to catch up but forgive me for not being on top of it all.

The holiday went well. Only had a huge row at the final airport. Travelling with a smoker is difficult.

CC, my Dad died at home, that's what he wanted. He spent his last days planning a lunch for his coworkers after he died. Didn't want a funeral, but wanted a celebration. It was nice. Just make sure that you have time for you and if help is offered take what you want.

Fuddle, glad the house and job are working out so well.

I know I've missed stuff, but congratulations to the new grannies.

Oh, and just a thought about Face thingy. Setting up specific groups can be really good but can also kill some groups/forums. If people don't join both they feel left out and if they do join both, one becomes surplus.

evening ds2 finally settled, well he's in bed at least. DS1 is in bed to, and i know fine well he won't be asleep.

Well the saving up worked, managed to give ds2 a lovely birthday treat. We went bowling paid £25.50 for two family games, he absolutely trounced us. He had the bars up but managed to get strikes by rolling in the middles. Very proud mummy moment.
We saved up £100 to spend on him so got him a bubble machine and miniature army set £15 for both out of argo$, £17 monopoly, paid for bowling out of it with drinks and nachos. With the change we were going to see the lego movie but he asked to go to pizza hut instead. Little man said he wanted to have a family meal with no one phoning or loud noises. Have to admit the little pizza place was so relaxing, bit of 50's music on in the background and the boys laughed the entire time. couldn't eat the large pizza so brought the leftovers home.
OH made him his very own gamestation on the computer with a lot of age appropriate games he's allowed to play on. He was absolutely bouncing with it. It was games we already had so didn't cost a penny. Only ds2's daddy's time.
After food ds2 wanted to come back and play monopoly so we did and he was so excited before bed. He was bouncing and raving about what a good time he had. So myself and OH are very happy bunnies.

DS1 has decided to become an engineer so we have a meeting tomorrow evening at 6pm to discuss his GCSE options.

Had my first relaxation course and i was so scared. But i did it i went and i'm going back next week.

Right going to watch calification and have a cuppa x

You lot are amazing! It goes to prove that people who have or are suffering and those who have little of this world's goodies are the ones with all the compassion and generosity. I will keep you all posted and thank you for your offers of help but apart from standing with arms round her and loving her I want to help her do things for herself. She will get more satisfaction that way. However, I am going to try to do something about her housing - no-one should have to live like that.

Do you know? I reckon that if we all got together we could rule the world.

Staggering off to bed now - it's lunch club tomorrow and I'll need all my energy.

    Love you all
