Just had a rather bizarre experience. An elderly lady from Hertfordshire had tracked me down, following the well publicised case that Parking Eye had brought against us (and lost.) Both her and her neighbour had received one of the notorious letters from Aldi's partners, Parking Eye, asking for £40 (rising to £70 if not paid immediately). She sounded quite frail, and told me that she had sent a letter explaining that she hadn't overstayed, and sent a cheque for the £40 anyway, with a letter explaining that she was only in Aldi's car park for only 1 hr-she said she was "worried to death." She sounded such a sweetie, she rang to give me support, bless her. I felt a little helpless, it's unlikely that she'll see her forty quid again. I know that the press have been interested in our case, I've got this lady's number if you wish to speak to her directly.

I'm in Hertfordshire. If you let me know which Aldi store this is I will make Aldi/PE's life a misery over it and hopefully finish up with the same result as Dunstable.

I suppose some people will buy any trash if it's cheap enough.

That may be the answer :rotfl:

And this is Aldi's response (ok -Weber Shamewick's)

    How appallingly dismissive and complacent.

    'Sorry'?? - they don't give a f**k.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I want a job that I can do from home, It wouldn't take me long to make an auto copy+paste script to respond to all comments instantly, anything about parking gets removed in the same timeframe

    Easy money :D

Council - Parking Eye, are your charges legitimate?

Parking Eye - Yes, they are all legitimate, it's POPLA assessors and judges which hold a grudge against us and are causing us to lose money.

Ivor, do you have the location of this store? I got PE kicked out of the Dunstable Aldi, I'd love to do the same with this one. Or at least get a series of tickets with my four(!) vehicles and torment them mercilessly.

Were PE actually kicked out of Dunstable, or did they just have to allow anyone to park as per the original planning application?

The S106 agreement not only stipulated that the parking should be available for anyone, but also for how long which, IIRC, was 2 hours+, i.e. much longer than Aldi/PE allows at any of its sites.

Aldi's response was that the PE signs were put up in error, and they were later removed. I haven't been back but Central Beds Council confirmed the removal of the PE signs to me.
