Here we go again, another Aldi customer 'begging' them to call off the PE dogs.

How can any customer-focused organisation put up with this gross alienation of its very reason for existence, because, let's be honest, customers are the only life-blood of retailers.

What an absolute PR disaster. Someone needs to be sacked!
Aldi please help....I received a £70 parking fine yesterday for an alleged offence on 25th Nov at Macclesfield Aldi. The letter states I was there for 1 hour and 4 mins. I have proof in the form of my bank statement that I was parked there whilst doing my weekly shop. I spent just under £40. I would appreciate your attention please as I shop there each week and don't understand why I got a fine.

I've received a parking ticket from Aldi because of the day I had my interview there for about 3 hours. I went to the store, they said 'it's fine, they'll sort it out'. Happened that the manager wasn't in store so I got another notice. I went back, spoke to the manager- again, he said he'll sort it out now. YESTERDAY I received a final notice which is asking me to pay £70 or I'll be dealt with by solicitors. THIS IS POOR SERVICE. It wasn't my choice to stay there for 3 hours! Now, they're obviously too busy to sort it out!

I think we've now moved on from shock to utter disgust.

I went to Aldi for the first time this week, no PPC here, still had a 1.5h time limit. We only went in for some dog treats, but being disabled if I was shopping it may have taken me longer than their permitted time just to dodge the pallets of stock they had down the aisles.

How on earth do they get away with that the way elf-n-safety is these days. I remember the rigmarole I had to go through if I opened a cellar hatch to let the draymen deliver.

Must say I wasnt impressed, luckily we can chose to go elsewhere.
  • There are pics of pallets down all the aisles, so bad a wheelchair can't get by and if there was a fire no-one could escape easily. Poster advised to complain to council, fire brigade, papers etc.

This is what happens when Aldi build on tiny plots of land. They end up with small car-parks and lack of stock-room space.

Oi you lot, I've been away most of the day and find this has slipped almost on to page 3.

Here you go - look at these.
Hello Aldi, I'm saddened to say I have today received a parking charge notice for shopping in the Feltham branch. I started shopping at Aldi 3 months ago and I love it and constantly sing your praises BUT I feel somewhat cheated having received this notice for £70. I'm disgusted that you employ such companies as Parking Eye , as they are merely a scam. You might have cheap prices in store but your parking charges make up for this, I may as well go Tesco!! I will not be paying this and I will be shopping else where. PS is it correct to time a car from the moment it enters the case park but is not parks, because on average the wait time is 5-7 minutes for a space and I was parked for 1 hour 22 minutes apparently??

    And
    Dear Aldi

I notice that the roof of my local Aldi store collapsed into the car park yesterday. I understand that no injury to persons occurred but that several of the parked cars received extensive "collateral" damage and were immobilized.

It would be really helpful if you could advise the best course of action, should one of the unfortunate owners of these vehicles receive an invoice for any "over-stay" whilst on your premises? http://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/scaffold-crashes-cars-outside-aldi-6377160

Worry not, there's an NtK already on the way to these miscreants, cough up, or we'll see you in court!

More very unhappy customers sure to give Aldi a very wide berth in future, all thanks to their PE bed-fellows - sleeping with dogs and fleas comes to mind, once again!

I just wonder how many 'rogue' Parkers are caught by PE, compared with really genuine shoppers who have to jump through so many hoops and suffer so much distress and angst in order to rid themselves of a totally spurious and unenforceable 'fine' (Aldi's description - not mine!).

    But you missed this one
Last week a friend of mine drove me by car to Aldi London Rd Westcliff on Sea. He sat in his car in Aldi's car park with my dog while I did a big family shop, and then I sat in his car while he did his shopping also in Aldi.
Aldi's was packed with Christmas shoppers so it took some time, but not once did one of us leave the car because we were not able to leave my elderly dog alone.
A few days later my friend received a £40 fine in the post, as it seems Aldi felt we had spent too long in their car park. I would like to take this opportunity to say we have been supporting Aldi's for years regarding buying the majority of our family shopping from them. However we now consider that as long as Aldi employs these tactics to make money out of us shoppers, my friend, myself and our family's will never be shopping there ever again.
And to Aldi we would like to say farewell and a Happy Christmas.....you certainly know how to spoil ours!!!

  • Anyone shed any light on this, in reply to the above post? Unfortunately the OPs friend has already paid
Bat Fink. Do not pay it. Go over to Pepipoo.com to get help on getting it cancelled. It's an unlawful invoice. I'd suggest also going to MSE but it would appear they have now got into bed with Parking Eye and are banning users who dare mention Parking Eye. Pepipoo is your friend.

Wow that sounds like PE may be rattled at the success rate here as I see no evidence of any bans.
