Is anyone doing The Whole Thirty?

Day 16
Breakfast: Avocado, nuts, banana
Lunch: Home made burger with bacon and salad, almond bar
Dinner: Cod with bacon, salad, egg, peach
I've been starving all day, and really struggling to avoid eating bad things! I did wonder if what I ate yesterday has set me back a little and caused the carb cravings, but I can't imagine it would have that much effect? Anyway, I wasn't bloated or uncomfortable after eating the dairy, wheat etc... yesterday, but felt the familiar carb slump about an hour or so after. I went straight back to the Whole30 for the rest of the day, though, with no difficulty. I was really craving a healthy meal by dinner time, and was glad to eat a whole plate full of chicken and veg!
Coconut pieces sound good. I'll pick some up tomorrow!

Thanks all for your support and sharing your meal ideas etc, it is definitely making the whole30 easier! One of my work colleagues is now onboard as well.
Day 10
Breakfast - Bacon, egg, watercress, advocado
Lunch - Prawns, watercress, advocado
Dinner - Steak, mushrooms, onions, watercress
I know what you mean now Gilly when you said everything tastes amazing! I drizzled olive oil, balsamic vinegar, finely chopped rosemary over my watercress and it tasted absolutely lovely
Still feeling great. I know they say you should only weigh yourself at the beginning and the end but I have to confess I weigh myself every day - I continue to slowly lose weight and it gives me the inspiration to continue and not give in to any cravings. Have lost 3.7kgs so far :T0 -
Well done Gilly & Southerngirl.
Southerngirl, know what you mean about weighing every day. It's a boost if you continue to lose.
I have a lergy today. Feel a bit flu-ey. Am on the sofa feeling sorry for myself.
Keep up the good work0 -
Southerngirl - 3.7 kgs!!!! That's brilliant! How much are you hoping to lose in total?
Flissh - Sorry you feel rubbish. I imagine it's harder to stick to the plan when you feel sorry for yourself and sofa-bound. Hopefully your newly improved, extra-healthy immune system will see off the illness in double-quick time!
Day 17 (flippin' heck!!)
Breakfast: Spinach sauteed with bacon and lemon juice, banana, almonds
Lunch: Roast chicken, salad
Dinner: Whole crab (half price at Tesco - a treat as OH is out this evening!), stir fry with homemade Thai-ish almond satay sauce. Gooseberry and strawberry 'crumble' (heated gooseberries with some sweet strawberries, topped with chopped roasted nuts and served with coconut milk). Yum!
One thing I've struggled with is tea without milk, but I've finally found a solution. Chai tea is a slightly spiced tea, and tasted amazing with coconut milk!
Have a great evening, all xDebt free date: October 2006 :money:0 -
Hi All,
Flissh - hope you're starting to feel better - maybe chicken soup could help! Found the coconut at Sainsburys - very tasty.
Gilly - your dessert last night sounded divine, I love the smell of chai tea but unfortunately it gives me a headache. Well done for reaching day 17!
Thanks Gilly and Flissh, ideally I'd like to lose another 8kgs and get myself back to the weight I was two years ago however I'd settle for a 5kg loss if I can comfortably keep it off.
Day 11
Breakfast - Bacon, mushrooms, watercress, advocado
Lunch - Prawns, watercress
Dinner - Steak, mushrooms and onions, roasted butternut, watercress
Snack - Coconut pieces
Keep up the great work everyone! :T0 -
Hi all,
Day 18 for me, and going really well! I'm full of energy most of the time, and food still tastes incredible. We had an end-of-term party at 'work' (I volunteer two days a week), so everyone brought in food, and needless to say the spread was almost entirely wheat, dairy and sugar based foods with lots of carbs, but I didn't even feel tempted to eat anything off-limits as I just know it isn't part of the whole30. It's so helpful to have such specific rules, and the time is flying by! I have no ibs or IC symptoms AT ALL, and there's nothing (not even chocolate!) that tastes as good as being healthy feels, if that makes sense.
Day 18
Breakfast: Avocado, banana, nuts with coconut milk, saut!ed spinach
Lunch: Chicken, salad
Dinner: Beef Thai curry with courgette noodles and cauliflower rice. Berries.
How's it going, Flissh? Southerngirl, i'd be really interested to see how much weight you've lost by day 30 (and how your shopping trip for your new, slimmer clothes goes!!).

Did not each much yesterday. not able to keep anything down. Did manage an omelette for dinner. Drank loads of fruit tea. They are becoming a real favourite of mine.
Found this website that looks interesting. I like the meal plan style layout.

Hey everyone!
Psycopathbabble - are you still with us?
Flissh and Southerngirl, it's great to read about what you've been eating. I'll check out that website after posting - thanks Flissh. Yaaay for two thirds of the way!!! It's become second nature now, and although at the start I thought i'd find it hard to think of things to eat and that I wouldn't enjoy it at all, that hasn't been the case. I really look forward to every meal, now, and my energy levels are suddenly through the roof!! I seriously haven't sat down all day, and I would usually be feeling exhausted by now, but today I feel fine. I no longer feel the urge to snack, and I no longer miss any treats or carby snacks. This is unheard of for me!! I'm usually dozing on the sofa by 9pm...
Day 19
Breakfast: Prawns, calamari, chorizo, plum
Lunch: Bacon, egg, spinach, asparagus
Dinner: Chicken curry and lamb rogan josh (shared with OH), cauli rice
We're off on holiday on Sunday, with OH's entire family, but we're going to Crete so I imagine it'll be easy to find plenty of lovely, fresh fruit and veg, meat and seafood. We are self-catering, and have a BBQ etc... so no problems there. I'm packing plenty of nuts and seeds for snacks. Now just have to find a way to ignore everyone telling me I need to eat more bread and chocolate to fatten me up!!
Night all. Have a good evening!Debt free date: October 2006 :money:0
