  • Welcome back Gilly! Hope you had a lovely holiday! What I enjoy about going on holiday is enjoying the local food including bread so don't worry yourself about it, like Flissh said - as long as you had a good time :) I'm sure you'll find it easy getting back into the whole30.

The muffins were very tasty. I didn't bother adding the coconut milk or coconut flour and my muffins stayed together really well. Also added loads of chopped parsley and chopped bacon (already cooked).

    Day 21

Breakfast - Bacon, egg, advocado, watercress

Lunch - Prosciutto wrapped frittata muffins, watercress and advocado

Dinner - Salmon, cabbage, onion, bacon, watercress, advocado

Hi guys! Have been ridiculously busy catching up with unpacking, washing and work so haven't had time to post, but thanks for the encouragement and well done on keeping it up! Flissh - DAY 30!!! How do you feel? Have you lost as much weight as you'd hoped? What are you going to eat tomorrow?!!!

It's now day 4, second time around, for me. I finished the holiday feeling fairly lethargic, bloated and vaguely miserable (in part due to sleepless nights and post-holiday blues, of course!), but today the energy came flooding back and despite having an extremely busy day I feel like I could pop out and climb a mountain before bed! It has really brought it home to me how much better I feel when i'm eating naturally, and it's also made me think much more about what we eat. I also use herbs and spices far more than I used to.

Are you guys finding it an expensive way to eat? I think it's actually saving us money, as we no longer by snacks and pre-prepared foods. It's also so much easier going shopping, as I no longer spend ages dithering between the isles. It's just meat, fish, veg, eggs, done!

    Day 4

Breakfast - frittata muffins - delicious, but I think I may leave out the coconut next time as it tastes a little too strong.

Lunch - aubergine stuffed with bolognaise sauce, chicken leg

Dinner - Thai lamb curry with cauliflower rice and courgette noodles

Snacks - frozen apples juice ice lolly

Hope you're getting the chance to enjoy the weather!

    Hello all:wave:

I'm tucked up in bed at the end of day 30. I can't quite believe it.

Gilly, I have lost just over 9 pounds. Which is great. I'm not sure where I go from here. I think I am just going to carry on as I am, but might include a little booze:D I might investigate a paeleo type diet which is just about the same as the whole 30. I bought a carton of coconut milk (?koko I think) yesterday and have been having that in coffee. I like it better than coconut cream. It is a great milk substitute. Shame I only found out on day 29!

I feel ok, not loads better, but ok. I need to find an energy source for exercise as I am not able to cycle as far or as fast as before, although that is coming back and that might also be I did not go on the bike as much in the first two weeks and think I lost a little fitness (maybe)

I am certainly not bloated the way I sometimes get when I eat bread. Can't see me going back to that in a hurry.

I agree, shopping is easier. Less choices to worry about. I have not found this inconvienient at all, and makes me wonder why I would not carry on really.

Keep going Southerngirl, not long now. Gilly, well done for getting back to it.

    Edited to add;

    Today,
    Breakfast, scrambled eggs,
Lunch, barbecued burger, chicken & salad, Mixed fresh fruit
Dinner, Chicken & bacon salad, raisins & brazil nuts.

    Snack, an apple

Well done Flissh on completing 30 days! :j

Arrggghhh I was doing so well and then I don't know what happened!

    Day 24

Breakfast - Bacon, egg, mushrooms, watercress

    Lunch - Strawberries

I then made the mistake of going food shopping and bought popchips (baked), popcorn and mint kit kats thinking I could treat myself at the end of my 30 days.

Dinner - Belly of Pork, watercress and then popchips, mint kit kat :(

    Day 25

    Breakfast - Bacon, mushrooms, watercress

    Lunch - Prawns, watercress, advocado

I've now got home from work and ate popcorn and mint kit kats :(

So I've learnt that I simply can't have food like this in the house because I will just eat it. Chocolate and chips no longer give me the same level of satisfaction as they had before and actually left me feeling more tired and lethargic. I've found the food I've been eating on the whole30 more enjoyable and tastier then chocolate and crisps.

What should be my penance?? Do I start at day 1 again??
