No it's my, "Dammit, just missed shot of the year!" photo.

I'm trying to shoot that tree in different conditions/times of the year and giving some of the photos the oil painting treatment. The tree is interesting enough on its own, but it helps if there is a bit of human interest.

Trouble is, it's in a high-up, unpopulated spot, by the beacon, so not many humans about. :(

The other day I was deliberately returning by that road, when I saw two people walking in exactly the place I wanted them, and they were even dressed in clothes that complemented the willow herb in the hedge.:j

Trouble is, by the time I'd parked the van, they were receding over the brow, so I had to run like mad and then grab a shot. The little girl is looking back over her shoulder at this nutter with a camera. I don't blame her!

So the humans are too small, the tree is not entire, and I just missed the picture I'd been seeking by about 20 seconds. :wall:

But like Rummer's border, there will be other days and more attempts to get it right. :)

:rotfl::rotfl: sorry but :rotfl::rotfl: did you read my garbled instructions i wrote to you a few pages back ? or am i responsible :o
  • do you know where I stand if I still cant get used to them in a few days??? .

DH got varifocals a while ago, he was swizzled into the two pairs deal but they would only make one pair up in case he didn't get on with them. If that happened he could get the lenses changed at our expense, don't think they would have refunded the varifocals.

Gosh everyone's been so busy, I have too, sort of, the spare bedroom -office is done at last. I can highly recommend painting floor boards, and I think it'll be done all through the house eventually, although not sure how I could cope keeping off the stairs for hours at a time. You'd have to paint your way up at night and down in the morning! Only thing as with all painting is the drying time, I kept going off and starting other things, so the whole things dragged on.

A question...what would you do in this situation...I think my neighbour is up to no good, they've just taken their house off the market at the weekend, agency's sign gone today, BUT I saw a couple yesterday who have been once before, I think for a viewing both times, and I strongly suspect next door are trying to dodge agents fees, they moaned like hell about that.

I really want the agents to know, but would they be checking anyway? They can look up who bought a property online after the event and they'll have names of people viewing...but should I tip them off? This is the neighbour that reported me to RSPCA, gossips about me to other equally troublesome neighbours, phones and watches my bedroom in the middle of the night...I feel like I want to return the favour! Or is that really bad?

    I also want them gone!

i went to see a lovely elderly couple after work tonight. they were in the shop last week and spoke of some vintage clothing they had. when i got there i had the obligatory cuppa and biskwit then she brought out a box. in it was the most amazing beautifull hand made childrens clothes. smocking, lace etc. HER mother had made them . [for the grandchildren] so they were 50yrs old. she then brought out clothes her mother had made for her !! so 65yrs + old. velvet capes, bonnets.... then she brought out her wedding dress plus photo [50yrs+]. it was handmade in a beautifull pink with an almost damask weave. IN SPOTLESS PERFECT condition :T plus the veil. i asked how she could part with them and she said her daughter thought it was all TAT... ... needless to say i broke the bank and bought the lot :o and i cant see me selling half of it after she told me the stories behind it all.... i did say "you had a very clever mum" and she replied " my childhood was a misery, i hated her, but i looked good !";):rotfl::rotfl:

When Mr Dog's house accidentally returned to the market for a day last year due to agent incompetence, I admit I did a dance of joy. :j

But it wasn't to be; the house was overpriced when he last offered it, and local rumour says there are structural issues. There's certainly a big crack down the gable end. I've been tempted to creep down there in the night and add a sign reading "To open building, tear along here...." but he hasn't riled me enough .....yet. :rotfl:

In answer to your question, I'd imagine most agents sign up to Zoopla/Rightmove and get regular updates on sold properties in their patch, as published by Land Registry 3 months after the sale. If they smell a rat, it costs £3 to find out who bought. If they spot a fraud, they usually have close links with a tame solicitor, or three ....;)

I wouldn't act as any agent's guardian angel myself. :)

I'd want to tell the agent because they've made my life a misery just lately and at various times in the past, the stress, anxiety and depression have been horrendous. All because they've got nothing better to do.

Don't know about the law but they are breaking their contract, the people I saw had been first time while it was being marketed by the agents.

And I know he was watching at 2.30 in the morning because he phoned me and said so. We can't see into their house and they can't see our bedroom from theirs, he was on the street looking up at my window and saw the light from the TV. He was phoning to complain about my dogs barking, probably at the person they could hear loitering around outside.

They'll have to go with it anyway if these people are serious, they've had no other offers, barely any viewings because if it's not sold soon I think they would be repossessed.
  • FK.... I agree don't say nothing, estate agents are well clued up on this type of stuff.

Personally I would do nothing to upset a sale... and if or when your neighbour eventually goes, whether the house is sold or repossessed. on the day they are moving out.. I would just stand outside and gloat...

Their meddling might not stop when they are gone.. they still might carry on phoning certain organisations etc.. but over time they will stop..

Thanks for the advice on the glasses, I only got one pair, and they cost me a fortune.. But as you said IHS it will take me a few days to get used to them... I am only using there for an hour or two up the ranch.. in the night... as I don't want t cause any accidents while driving or walking round with them in the shops etc.. lol...

    I've been Money Tipped!
CTC it took me a while to get used to my varifocals too, and I still move them up and down my nose on occasion to get the focus right.

Better than having two pairs of glasses though.

I did try the contact lenses (can't remember the name) that correct the short sight in one eye and the long sight in the other and leave your brain to sort it out. My brain declined and I gave up in the end.:o

I am very lucky as my lenses are made up specially at the Eye Clinic at Cambridge University for only £259 (due to the strength/complexity of the prescription and needing photochromatic etc neither high street nor online opticians are unable to source lenses for me).

Just glad I live in a time when my sight can be corrected......

Mr BD's new lappy has arrived and I'm not that keen on Windows 8. Spent most of yesterday downloading and installing updates. Today's job will be downloading software and setting the lappy up so Mr BD can use it easily.
