Alfie that sounds marvellous re the buying & mixing with the folks that have the stuff.

Dave what a stunning photo - the flowers look luminous. It's started chucking it down again. I cannot believe that it's raining again. We got 5" last night!

A guy who OH knows is working on the road near Ullapool - he has massive equipment. OH phoned & spoke with his wife who says that she won'r see him till tomorrow morning - he'll be out all night, so we'll know more then.

We are on our own water supply - although we haven't any water at the mo:o as the pipe has washed out & I ain't going up the hill. But people that are on the mains here haven't got any because it's all silted up so they've brought a tanker of water from Inverness - about 70 freaking miles away. The place is awash with the blubbery stuff, yet they're trucking it in.:p The scheme they spent millions on a couple of years back is jiggered.

If the A835 is out, that's the fishing and Stornaway knackered until its sorted, then.

Shin really would not cope with the artics. Fun enough in a standard estate.

Hope you manage to get up the hill to sort out the water intake; I think they are talking about wet up in NW and the Island til later today.
I do hope they get it

Left here at about 8.40 am & didn't get into Ullapool until 11.45am. Just back.

At least I got some anti-virals & painkillers - I'm now off to my pit for an hour as feel incredibly jiggered.

The roads are really bad in a few places - real slippages & a few houses have been flooded & lost their gardens. There's rocks & silt all over the place. Single file at parts while they truck away rocks & sand. They've cleared one lane so that there is some roadway, but so much water on it I'm amazed we got through. It's started raining again - so I don't think it's gonna be cleared & stay cleared for a while.

    Night nightZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

looks like the carpenter will be starting at the ranch at the end of September, beginning of October, which is great for us.. so we will have time to get the money together to pay him.. and the stone work will be finished on that side of the house too ( except one outside wall) we got a lot of the insulation, Just need to find source old flagstones, or floor tiles that look very similar ..

Yes, we could of given them a good home. I do miss not having a cat & also the hens. I find myself talking to dogs when in town...sort of sidle up to them & start a conversation - almost like I want to steal them.........

Remember baby snatchers of a couple of decades ago....well I feel the need for a pet....like a dull ache....time to get a grip.
