Had a hectic few days. Ds1 still going to NZ. Just completed online visa. Told his boss today what his plans are. Not quite told the girlfriend yet. He's had a second sheepdog he's been bringing on and he was sold this week. Sister is probably going to buy his car and his motorbike has got an offer on. I'm still a bit shell shocked.
that sounds like me in my earlier days ... sold allsorts and went to OZ for 6 monthsi was in the north west territories ,not the beach scene
kanga's,galla's and snakes...:rotfl: and the odd person every 50km :rotfl: went on a cattle round up/check em trip in a likkle helicopter thingy. if he has the ba**s and inclination to do it then trust him to use this adventure as an amazing learning curve

Gorgeous Dave and such wonderful faces. They really are so different and by the looks of those photos quite different in temperment?
The short hair looks more assertive?
Glad they have responded so well to their handling over the last few weeks; rather different to the scared little things you brought home?
Yes they have different personalities. Izzy, the short-haired, is very athletic, but Lila (Delilah!) is more confident around people. Izzy generally needs more reassurance, but as Mum was pretty laid-back, I've no worries long-term.
They play-fight regularly, yet there has never been so much as a hiss, as they're naturally gentle with each other. (Don't think this will extend to rodents and birds, though!)
Compared with our last cat, Poppy, who could only be stroked when young if she had her head hidden in a toy bucket, they are wonderfully normal! :rotfl:0 -

Yours will grow quickly too, so make the most of 'em.
Ours are only 3 months old.
lucielle, I agree with alfie. DS will probably find it tough going at times, but a working trip to NZ will open up all kinds of possibilities for him.
There are worse places. DD1 went to Belarus with the YMCA whilst still at school. That was an eye-opener for her in many ways.0 -

Ginger and white, of course, just like the soup.0 -
No I think he should go and travel while he's young.......but he's still my baby. I know NZ has quite a big drugs problem amongst the shearers so that is a bit of a worry! I know everywhere has some kind of problems.
He wants to do a skydive and a bungee jump......told him to tell me after he's done it.

Rained heavily all night, having rained off my chicken house extension work yesterday, but the sun's out now.
We needed a good soaking here, especially the one year old trees I put into the hedgerows and the new copse. So far, we've not lost a tree in there, but I doubt if that's true for the hedge additions. The comfrey barrel up at the Dog End has helped keep the new laurels growing up there. Can't afford to lose those! :rotfl:0 -
Loving the gorgeous kitten pictures.
Some very welcome rain here in eastern Scotland. Managed to do quite a few tidy up garden jobs last week so fairly up to date on that front.
alfie1 - have very happy memories of holidays in the New Forest. My uncle (and his wife who may still be alive) lived near Fordingbridge. Took the kids to Sandy Balls for a fortnight's holiday in 1988 - thoroughly enjoyed it. I still have two rather misshapen pottery dishes they made at one of the craft sessions and they loved the film bus which came to the site.0
