Bit worried its over exposed to wind there. I panicked at the thought of loss and just planted, not where I had planned to, but where I could reach, and.....its in the wrong place. But I can live with it there, if IT can.
Well, here's mine. The field gate behind is east and we are at 145m. It will just have to cope!0 -
Pouring down here & grey - was okay when I was at work swilling out holiday home - isn't that the way. wanted to do some sheep sheep stuff when I got back but OH not too good today.
I hope it is reasonable tomorrow so we can do it then. We have our final Rayburn shift in the afternoon when we get a hand from someone - that & rollers - we can shift owt!0 -
Forgot to say I did have some good news this week, can't remember if I mentioned a while back that I had put a claim into the council for a new alloy, as the potholes broke mine. Finally they have paid out.

well done Luceille,
I have got the form back from the Halifix about the ppi on our mortgage, it does look a but daunting...As Alfie said I need to be really careful, an make sure I fill it in properly.
getting a bit piddled off with the bay at mo, as I normally put best offer on any bin, and they are putting stupid offers in, think I might stop doing that from now on..
more quail hatched out yesterday... they are such nutters lol....
windy and rainy here last night and now... with the blue and sunny skies in between.
don't know about you lot, but I am starting to get a nervous twitch with david camerooooon and his actions/remarks about Russia.. we haven't got gas, but surely if Putiin getting piddled off he will just turn the gas pipe off?? especially now he has agreed to supply China, I know that might be a few years down the line, so is this why the government at pushing ahead with fracking, and also leaving the door open for them to give licenses to frack in national parks???Work to live= not live to work0 -
Tell 'em to frack off CTC.
This Government is so corrupt I must admit I have nowt in common with Westminster - It don't talk for me. All he's doing is ensuring a Yes vote for independence.
The divide btw rich & poor is unstable. We have no PO or shop here as more than 50% of houses are owned as 2nd homes here & folks bring their food here. Tesco vans beetle about as folks are ordering stuff from them as they now deliver here from the East Coast. The owners of these 2nd homes if they rent them out & want cleaners generally pay buttons.
Don't get me started.0 -
Why I am saying/concerned about this fracking for gas, people move to the countryside to get away from crap like that, especially if they move into a national park area, where they know they cant fart without getting permission to do so, But this so called special license for potential fracking in national parks etc, is just taking the pith take...
Weather has been dry and windy here....
home now, making a chicken dinner.... as just been eating crap up the caravan, so once we have had food, we will toddle back up to the ranch...Work to live= not live to work0 -
hi all..... i personally think the whole lot of thems in government are a load of shisters that make rules/descisions for us and ignore them themselves. if the likes of you or i commited the crimes they do we'd be behind bars quick sharp.... they send a "token" offender off for a short while to try and convince us the rest are "honest"..... anyway, ive had a good day, visited friend, then airport run, then saw my mum for a few hours.. my mum and dad are buying me a mower for my birfday...:j
cat and babbies are great. they are all growing daily.... she is a very good mum .. im getting a tad "connected" with the black/white splodge one
but early days
it rained this morning for 15 mins but didnt affect the ground... still rock hard

I'm surprised, but the recent rain doesn't seem to have sent the grass into overdrive. Nevertheless, I thought it wise to cut a couple of lawns today.
The dry weather also allowed me to zap the bracken, but there wasn't a huge amount, so I probably could have left it for another year or so.
We're now cutting back extensively in the borders. Plants like osteospermums, polemonium and geranium macrorrhizum will quickly come back for a second performance. As for the geranium phaeum, I just run over it with the mower! :rotfl:
Having lost half our dahlias, there are more gaps to fill than gap-fillers, but I'm not terribly sorry, as they were a lot of work. We should have more nicotianas to do the same job, but the ones we have seem to be very slow off the mark. Not sure what they are! We do have nicotiana mutabilis flowering. It's an unusual species, which changes colour as it ages, from white to pink.:)
The rain also allowed me to burn the van load of laths, old woodwormed floorboards and garden detritus from DD's new place.:D Just about finished that when a phone call came through from a friend: "Could you possibly take adumpy bag full of garden rubbish?"
Hrumph! Bring it on....:p
Speaking of politicos, we attended a small fund-raising event yesterday afternoon. It was a cream tea kinda thing - just the village getting together really, but all organised by the same local ladies who do so much. :A
Anyway, I noticed the local MP sitting next to us. Sure enough, some wallah popped up with a a big Canon, flashing away at this 'photo opportunity.' . I wasn't there the whole time, but so far as I know, the MP didn't do anything towards the event. But I bet when the party's next newsletter comes out, there he'll be, grinning away like it was all his idea! :rotfl:0
