    >can't believe they're £8-10 for a 3 litre pot these days.<

Yep, what's really bad is they'll sell biennial foxgloves for that price too!

But it was OK. DD2's partner was there, and he's worth two of anyone else, physically, practically and intellectually. He also just smiles at adversity and stays wonderfully polite when everyone else is losing it. That's infectious. :D

He sounds marvellous! I am sure you would have been calm and collected too :)

Dreich here today :( so we have moved the party indoors. I never got around to filling the pots so maybe just as well :rotfl:

Calm & collected is something I've gradually absorbed from others better at it than me, so I'm much improved:A......but not perfect.

For example, last week, when attempting to put a 3.75 metre long roll of very heavy duty netting in the van's 3.6 metre load space, my BiL's passive-aggressive neighbour drove his BMW close to us and then demanded we move forward so he could park. He could see perfectly well that it was a physically tough job for us .

I just responded that it really wasn't convenient for us at that time....and carried on in my futile battle with the roll. :A

He then claimed he couldn't go back as he'd jammed himself between us and his wife's car. Would I see him back?

I replied calmly that I'd be done in a moment, and that what he did with his car was his concern. :A

It was all going swimmingly, except that the incredibly heavy roll, which we'd been told was 3.5m long, wasn't going to cooperate... :(

And then, DW said something to neighbour...:eek:

I still don't know exactly what it was, but it was a suggestion as to what he could do with his car:rotfl:.... exactly the sort of remark you don't make to a passive-aggressive, because they then act all outraged and hurt.:cry:

At that point, the roll of netting decided to help out by becoming uncontrollable, sliding down the bulkhead where we'd raised it, partly launching itself out of the back of the van....:cool:The pair of us were wobbling about close to the car’s front end and losing the ability to control it, as it writhed around like some demented snake.:o

The Beemer shot backwards. The 'snake' went over BiL's front wall where we'd wrestled it to, and that was that......almost. True to form, the passive-aggressive came back and said, "Look, I'm not trying to cause trouble, do you want a hand?"

I was doing really well until then!!! :o:rotfl::o:rotfl:

Wish I had been there to see that Davesnave, and also to find out what DW actually said lol..

we went out on the bike yesterday, with a few friends.. had a lovely time at a country park, where there was some sort of vintage themed thing was going on, a bit disappointed with that, as there was also another one less than half a miles away, one was in pembrey country park, and one was in the pembrey race coarse...

anyway long story short I have cought the sun big time of my face.. I have an open face helmet lol, so you can imagine the sun burn design on my face...

had a bbq last night and stayed outside until about 12.30am just watching the fire, youngest and his mates carried on cooking burgers at silly o'clock ... and just putting more wood on the fire..

    Sounds good fun CTC.

I could do with some help and advice, DS1 has just announced he wants to go to NZ clipping. I'm not very well travelled. Advice needed on visas/permits, insurance and how to move money from NZ to UK. Anything else I may have missed.

Starting to pick my lavender that was planted earlier this summer. Some has gone very over, some isn't ready yet. I cut it all back on planting. Seeing the difference between varieties is why I could never be so chic and elegant as to have one variety lining beds and paths. Too greedy.

I think to move to NZ you need all sorts of medical clearance - lung XRays etc that have to be paid for here. You should also consider if you change money before moving it across or keep it in £'s I think, but that'll keep the son busy over the holidays I would think.

Dave sounds quite funny with the neighbour. I wouldn't hav ebeen able to keep polite with the neighbour, but then again I'm probably too fiery....just about lost the plot with Health 24 yesterday when OH woke up with a very swollen face & lips - no I hadn't been beating him, but another allergic reaction to some medication. It took over 4 hours to be able to get to see a Doctor 35 miles away. If it would have been really serious I would have phoned 999, but it did get really quite scary, as just not getting phoned back by them.

CTC - sounds a great time was had at the BBQ.

I used to live up a muddy track & only have a M/C license - went to Docs after following a tractor I looked like a racoon. I miss not having a bike on the road especially in this weather - there's so many gorgeous bikes going about - many foreigners going about with cameras on their helmets.

Well it's raining off & on & so midgied that you can't but breathe them in.

Must list some stuff as it's FLW until Tues.

Neighbour has been a pain for years and arguments have cost thousands, so I was really pleased to be in control for once..... until I lost it.:o :o:o

But that's just an annoyance; medical matters are in a different league. I always give the medics as much space as I can, but when something looks serious, I want action....now! :(

it does sound as though it would be fab experience, but if you are anything like me, I would be devastated to see him go,

This weather has now knackered hubby's feet, yesterday his feet were so warm etc, his trainers have rubbed his feet big time, and they are swollen too, and quite raw.. The thing is he wears riggar boots or chunky work trainers all the time...

watching grand prix as it is quite hot and humid out there..stroll on Autumn
