Dave - sounds like you have got a bargain with alterations.
Have just noticed a beautiful mauve flower on what I thought were bolted lettuces that I stuck in a bed. I was going to pull them out, but the flower is gorgeous - would it be bolted lettuce?
Got some spectacular swelling from clegg bites & a bad reaction so will be off to the docs tomorrow when they come through - they come one morning a week. If you need a prescription that's 35 miles away to get that. It's a bit ridiculous really.
Alfie you sound like you're very busy & organised.
Woke up this morning with a stranger in the caravan - someone to see OH - they just walked right in - how embarrassing is that? Especially when you see the chaos we are living in.......................
Absolute stonking heat again - far too hot really.0 -
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Looks like the chicory one - thanks for that RAS. It's staying as it's so striking a colour.0

Over the next couple of days I am going to have to work hard to get the garden up to scratch for our gathering. I was so proud of what I had achieved in the garden however when I showed it to others their reaction showed me that it clearly still needs a lot of workHowever it is much better than it was!
Oh, Rummer I know exactly how you feel! Although most people make positive noises about what [STRIKE]we've[/STRIKE] I've achieved (with some help!) its the few that don't that knock the wind out of your sails....however those people don't often do the work themselves and so don't understand just how much work it has takenmy hubby used to be like that, now he knows better because when he's home he gets put to work and now he realises how much time it takes to do these things:rotfl:
We are so close to finishing a lot of things, just need the occasional little push to get the momentum going again, plus a bit of money helps at times!
Dave, yes my goats and sheep run together, the goats browse more than graze so useful for keeping the hedges nibbled back. But only the ones you want them to eat, not your copse  mine are notorious escapees, sheep netting is not high enough to really contain them, if anything they can get stuck in it trying to climb or jump over it.
Well my ducklings have just hatched, same problem with the dry inner shells but they are all looking ok in spite of it, in fact up and dry much quicker, and better hatch rate than the chooks...they were in my older less technical incubator for most of the time, I'm sending the good one off for calibrating ready for next time.
I'm not a fan of this still hot weather either, I'm going to try a Mediterranean day tomorrow, get up dead early, work while it's cool, knock off for the afternoon, carry on on the evening!
I was down the mumbles at 9 this morning, dropped hubby off for his coach to the airport and fancied a bimble...lovely that time of day, not too busy, plenty of parking, lush coffee at Verdi's right on the sea front
I will be doing indoors jobs when it's this hot, should be doing it now really, I've got a load of painting to do, second hand furniture mainly, with my fave chalk paint, a bit of gilt cream and some distressing!
Time for a cold drink again I reckon, I'm trying out different fruit smoothie things with loads of ice whizzed up in it :cool:0 -
evening all............ sounds like you are getting what you want for what you want to pay DAVE.. which makes the build all the more pleasurable:D well ive finished my "day off"...:rotfl: signs are done and delivered. CHOILLE.... im only organised when i have a list of todo's in front of me..:rotfl: otherwise id forget my name !;) it hit 32 at its peak today0

Still baking hot here. More bites so I'm indoors as my hand has balloned up.
Wee dog running about in the sheep field earlier on. A neighbour is looking after it it seems & went out & left it. Poor wee thing, seems quite elderly & the horse flies were really annoying it. Took a while but managed to get the woman's father & came & took it - wasted an hour or so on that one.0 -
Do you get to spend much time out there relaxing?
Yes! The awful, awful digging in the mud over Easter is now forgotten and I now potter but also sit on the loungers esp. in the current hot spell. It's really a very small garden, just packed with plants so the weeds never get going.0 -

Fantastic
I was so impressed at the amount of effort you poured into it and I am glad that you are getting to enjoy it in this fine weather. I am working hard to get ours beautiful!
Phew it was roasting hot again today and I had yet another trip into town today. Tomorrow is officially our garden day!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
