:eek::eek: I just went out to the bin and there were maggots :eek::eek:

Thankfully the bins are emptied tomorrow but :eek::eek:
They do a good job, in the right circumstances. :)

This is the time of year when fortnightly collections are madness, though we're still on weekly. If this area went fortnightly, many of us would just increase our bonfire routines. :p

We don't have a rubbish bin, but they are fortnightly emptying here.

I rinse & re-cycle tins, plastic bottles in the blue bin that's emptied fortnightly. Glass goes to the bottle bank. Veg scraps are put in the compost. We take owt else to a bin up the road. Funnily enough I just said to OH that we should get a bin as we end up forgetting to take it & the car stinks................I think they charge about £35 to get a wheelie bin, so OH has been shying away from getting one, but I am fed up with a car that stinks foul..................

It's gone that way here too. I'm definitely flagging. :(

Worst of it is, I have to go up to Brum tomorrow, as DD2 needs the van for her move. Coming back Friday.... the first of the summer hols!:eek:

It was a close-run thing. Last weekend they didn't have a bathroom or a kitchen, nor any floor where the bathroom was to be. Now there's a floor, and a man who says there will be a bathroom by the weekend. They'll have to wash up in the bath for a while....But not sure if they have any thing to cook on anyway! :rotfl:

I think we are about to lose ceiling below old bathroom as well. There is water dripping through from ( I think) bath and sink waste. :(. That's the bathroom I still use most ATM. Floor by loo totally gone, and so its only a matter of time before it goes. Was hoping that first one was solved perfectly before this one crumbled.

I bet roughly the same thing has happened, loose joint......)

So, making joists and floors sound in their will probably be next project. Wasn't initially so high on the list. After doing that we might use it as a very small bedroom for a while, rather than a bathroom. Till we get more house sorted.

The thermometer in my conservatory is nudging 40°

Luckily there's a breeze so sitting out is warm but not silly hot.

I was in Morrison's where 'plant of the week' for £1 is Carex Pendula (native sedge) which is a bit of a garden thug so I'm hoping it'll do well in my "problem corner" of shade with clay. It has a reputation for seeding like mad, in fact I've already seen a number of seedlings from the existing Carex comans 'Frosted Curls' and Carex Buchananii. I guess Carex like the damp and heavy soil with me.

I've also managed to create a rather odd lawn, obviously spreading fertiliser by hand has been hit-and-miss. I now have a camouflage pattern of emerald green, greenish and straw coloured due to the uneven spread. Looks like a proper unit from Amazon is needed.

It was ridiculously hot here today! Started off quite cool however by lunch time it was bright and roasting. We were out in town and by the time we had walked home DD and I were exhausted.

I have a giant plant in the garden that appeared a couple of years ago and it looks as if it is about to burst into flower, no idea what it is though? Hopefully when the flowers open I will figure it out, I think it came from a selection of pound land bulbs I planted years ago.
